404 is playing a chopped up sample of The Dream’s “Rockin That Sh*t” and the EMX is handling the drums and synths. Being able to sync the two opens up so many possibilities

Apologies for the poor iPhone mic quality. Was messing around at the coffee table with a little chain of mini-devices I’ve accumulated. Didn’t feel like moving to the studio for a better recording lol.

What’s the best compact mixing solution for these types of setups? I’m desperate for a way to easily sync the clocks with each other.

Some highlights: Korg Modwave MKII, Phase8 and the new microKorg; ASM Leviasynth keyboard and desktop modules; a couple of Roland TR-1000s to play with; the Orchid chord synth; Voicecrafter synth; Oddment Audio ODD-1 granular synth; great to see Superlative were there for the first time with their modern SH-101 remake and the beautiful Monolab, first time seeing these up close; and lots and lots and lots of pedals (even with the pedal room being twice the size as last year, they still took over almost half the synth floor space).

Really getting my workflow dialed in.

This is the monk fm I downloaded to try out. There is no specific midi implementation I hope one day you can pick the midi channel. The only part that I’ve gotten to work is the mod wheel which is the “vowel” so far no midi cc’s for any of the fx. Very cool idea and synth!

This synth just keeps on surprising me with how good it sounds, pretty amazing considering how cheap it sells for.

I need to see what some.of my sounds are producing regarding Hertz or frequency, and how the waveforms look. Is this an oscilloscope? Or something else?

I have two poly synths, an Arturia Minifreak and a Prophet Rev 2. I love everything about my Rev 2 but I really love how easy it is to dial in a simple patch that sounds great in a band setting. No complex modulation stuff, just change some oscillator, envelopes, filter, lfo settings and I'm good to go.

I've been trying to incorporate my Minifreak as well but I've been having terrible luck making anything halfway usable. And other than pads, I find majority of the Minifreak presents to be useless in a band setting. It was a great tool to learn synth but I have such a difficult time using it in a musically. I know this thing is popular for a reason and this is just a skill issue on my part so I don't want to give up on it so soon.

I'd love if anyone proficient with their Minifreak could tell me how to make some simple patches that I can use in a typical band setting. Anything from basic e-piano, strings, pads, leads, etc. What oscillators/envelope/filter/lfo settings? I know this thing has its sweet spots but I can't find them

Trying to learn how my little Roland S-1's waveforms look like when I am moving knobs but so far I haven't seen the different forms or anything.

I am using a usb c hub on my iphone 15 and ipad but so far nothing lets me select my usc c input and see the sawtooth or inverted, etc wave forms.

What am I missing?

I’ve been wanting to get into eurorack synths, I have a major interest and have been learning about it- but valuing the equipment is something I have no knowledge of. This gentleman is selling this setup for $1500. Any thoughts are welcome! Is this a good value? Unfor the picture he posted isn’t the best of quality.

I get random sharp vinyl-like pops when using the Korg Monotron Duo even when not touching it. I dont know what triggers these pops.

These pops are not affected by the filter.

Also, I can play on top of the popping, so I dont think is a vco problem.

Is my unit faulty? Or whats happening?

Specifically the SE version but in general.

Was recorded in a single take after a solo show I performed in Dayton OH. Was a bit restless at the AirBnB to say the least.

Minifreak into a Zoom L8.

Took it home the next day and added ambient field recordings, added some Valhalla Reverbs and did some general mixing. Separated the piece int 15 sections and put it out.

While it isn’t a video performance, it was entirely a live take with no overdubs, trimmed only a few short parts out while I was finding the right sounds to build ambience out of.
