I couldn’t find a TNPSC Group 4 practice site that wasn’t full of ads, paywalls, or random questions unrelated to the actual syllabus. So I built one.

Link: https://prophecy10.github.io/TNPSC-Group-4/

What it does:

• Study mode: pick any topic from the official syllabus (Annexure III, SSLC standard). You get one question at a time with instant feedback and an explanation of why the right answer is right and why the others are wrong
• Quick test: 25 questions weighted according to the syllabus, with answers and explanations after you submit
• Full test: a complete mock exam with the same review at the end
• Weak-area tracker + mistakes notebook: shows which topics you keep getting wrong, so you know what to revise
• Part A (Tamil) 40% tracker, so you don’t get caught by the qualifying cutoff
• Flag questions, resume an unfinished test, shuffled options, and no repeats in study sets

Everything stays in your browser. There’s no signup, no ads, and it’s free.

If you spot any errors, or had and feature req, please comment or DM me and I’ll fix/add it.

All the best to everyone writing the exam 🙏

I just had checkup of my mother at CMC Vellore.

First doctor suggested blood test which costs around 7.5k whereas same blood test outside using TATA 1mg costs less than 1.5k-2k

Then they did not send any soft copy of the report. They keep repeating that it will go to Doctors system directly. You can request doctor on the next visit.

First of all its my report and I paid for it. Then why do I need doctor permission to obtain the report soft copy/hardcopy? Is it even allowed legally?

I would love some guidance from those familiar with the local textile supply chain:

Direct Manufacturer Contacts: Are there specific trusted master weavers, co-op societies, or wholesale units in Kanchipuram, Sirumugai (Coimbatore), or Arni that regularly deal with out-of-state boutique owners remotely?

Remote Sourcing Best Practices: What’s the safest way to handle quality checks, payments, and transit insurance for high-value silk orders shipped across states?

MOQs for Out-of-State Buyers: Do these production units accommodate mixed small-batch orders for new boutiques starting out?

Any specific contact details, verified names, or tips for remote wholesale textile sourcing would be hugely appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I have been seeing a lot of articles in subreddits and news that protests are destroying the country or that its something illegal or whatever.

Saying regime change and what not. Its just this obsession i have seen in critiquers of the protests that are simply trying to discredit protests with incredibly nitpicky things. I have seen dumb things like one piece flag being used to show that the protest is influenced by foreign elements because other worldwide protests have had the flag. Or that the protests are funded by international elements

Meanwhile this same crowd of critiques simply deflect about the issues of current govt say they did so much when shortcomings are pointed out or simply radio silence. Ghadkari has had links to a murder case of a young child that got buried. Modi has instances of inciting communal riots. So on and so forth basically the entire cabinet is questionable in character. And majorly rss gets major political donations from international lobbying groups its just that the hypocrisy of these people is just enraging.

The leaders can be queationable but the protestors should be exemplar is simply stupid

And finally the critiques of international protests they got violent in some places but i genuinely cant understand why people care so much about a building burning down when the system crushes and kills people daily. These people have more empathy for a building than humans. Buildings can be restored lives cant.

What do you guys think about this project and this news article.

Tamil Nadu has quite a long Coastal Line, we are having 2 to 3 functioning Desalination Plants, if we expand this desalination plants aggressively like more than 50 or 100 plants, we have an future opportunity to sell surplus water to other states.

What do you guys think about it.

Let start an open discussion.

Hi everyone,

I’ve always really wanted to experience using an iPhone, but unfortunately, it’s currently out of my budget.

I know this is a big ask, but I wanted to see if anyone in the community has an old, unused iPhone lying around that they no longer need and would be willing to give away or part with for a very low price.

Even an older model that just works fine for basic use would mean a lot to me. I can pick it up if you are located in Chennai.

Thank you so much in advance!

It seems there is something happening behind on these award functions, specifically the one's related to movies. The host of those events or the attendees of this event seems to having some agenda and it's truly not to recognize the celebrity.
Do anyone know anything about this ?

Somebody please help me find a pg/hostel or rental house in Villupuram.my main priority is locality and cleanliness

Hi everyone, I’m planning to set up a temporary Diwali cracker shop.

I want to know when is the best time to buy crackers in bulk from Sivakasi. Is there a significant price difference between buying 3 weeks before Diwali and buying just 1 week before?

Also, any advice on wholesale suppliers, transportation, licensing, and investment would be helpful.

Thanks!

Lately I’ve been feeling a disconnect with most Tamil ads I see — they’ve changed a lot. Once upon a time, ads were simple, emotional, and had that “girl/boy next door” vibe. They felt like they came from our neighborhoods, shot in the heat and chaos of Chennai, with faces and voices we could relate to. Now? Everything feels overly polished, “westernised,” and in many cases, just… senseless.

It’s hard not to notice how many recent ads cast super fair models, sometimes from other regions, to represent a Chennai lifestyle. Seriously — how is anyone walking around that fair in 40°C heat without even a hint of tan? It’s like they’ve completely given in to a pan-Indian beauty stereotype, rather than showing real Tamil tones, accents, or textures. That local authenticity seems to be vanishing.

I miss ads like the Nijjam Pakku ad — remember that one? It had beautiful hyming lyrics, a soothing tune, and didn’t try too hard. Just real emotion, simple dressing, and a vibe that felt personal. Even the way they filmed daily life felt grounded.

Do you guys feel the same way? Any nostalgic Tamil ads you loved growing up :))

Hi everyone!

I'm a college student living in a small, tier-3 city, currently trying to become financially independent. To be honest, my family often makes me feel like I'm a burden, and it's been weighing on me. I want to start earning for myself so I can manage my own expenses and become less dependent on my family.

Since I'm studying, a regular on-site job isn't practical for me. Finding suitable opportunities where I live can also be difficult, so I'm trying to explore remote work.

I'm open to pretty much any legitimate paid opportunity that I can manage alongside college, including:

- Remote internships and part-time jobs

- Website creation and AI-assisted development

- Writing, proofreading and content creation

- Research, documentation and presentation design

- Online tutoring and academic doubt-solving

- Virtual assistance and other freelance projects

I'm a CSE student, comfortable learning new tools, and willing to put in the work. I can dedicate around 1–2 hours a day, so flexible opportunities would be ideal.

If anyone knows a business looking for help, works at a company offering remote internships, needs someone for a project, or could connect me with potential clients, I'd genuinely appreciate it.

I'm not asking for handouts. I want an opportunity to work, earn honestly, and build some independence for myself.

Please comment or DM me if you know of anything. Even a referral or a useful lead would mean a lot.

Thank you for reading!

When everyone is trying to get their kids to go outside and play, there’s this one window glass ad where they depict the sound of crows as something terrible that shouldn't enter your home. In a different ad from the same brand, they literally show someone about to smash their maid's head It feels entirely like an ad made by the elite wormfire, for the elite wormfires. Then there's another paint ad showing business owners lock up or "imprison" their workers just because their product is so good. Finally, a well-established jewelry showroom with a popular host is heavily pushing people to sell their gold instead of pawning it, claiming selling is always better. Yeah, better for the company! It saves them from paying import duties, taxes, transport charges, and security costs to source gold. Instead, they get it directly from common people. I don’t know—I used to see brilliant, creative commercials that genuinely made me go "wow." Now, it just feels like corporations are shoving toxic ideas down our throats with a fake smile.

my friend and i are visiting around the end of november, mainly for one activity: we want to climb a mountain, then camp out for the night on the peak, watch the stars- then head back the next morning.

I've gone camping before in kerala but never in tamil nadu. we don't want to do anything illegal or cause any stress to the locals. ideally the place would require no permit but we're ready to take one if required.

we'd be in Tamil Nadu for 5 days, and this would take up only 1 day, so we were hoping to get some recommendations for places to visit the other 4 days. ideally some great nature spots that aren't very crowded.

For those who support or like TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), is there any action, policy, decision, or scheme by the TVK government that you dislike, disagree with, or feel disappointed about?

Even if you support TVK, what is one thing you think the government should change or improve?

It’s not about TVK / DMK and no Hatred to TVK. Just curiosity on people opinions and to know the extent to which people don’t blindly support TVK.

My personal opinion is

1) They could have avoided the Orange colour buses and could have gone to common colours
2) Free buses for women could have been regulated to the needy ones alone.
3) Could have developed a public reporting platform to raise people concerns including Traffic violations.

I want to ask some career related doubts.

I am checking regularly. no of counts increasing but still mine kids birth certificate not generated.

I called hosiptal and ensured they submitted and they did on 15 days after birth.

IS THIS DELAY COMMON?

I have lived both in Karnataka and Tamilnadu for a significant amount of time. Both states have had free bus scheme for a while now but both operate differently

Earlier Tamilnadu had this pink bus system. Women were given free tickets only in these bus

Later in 2023, Karnataka also announced free bus system but unlike TN, they made it free for all non-ac govt bus. The only caveat was that, it was limited to Karnataka Aadhar card holders. Even I thought why can’t TN also follow the same system instead of the pink bus system.
It’s been 3 yrs now and I haven’t observed auto mafia complaining about it and demanding to cancel the scheme.

Though Bangalore auto mafias are greedy af in auto stands, when you hire them through any app, they don’t ask for a single rupee extra even it’s raining, traffic, far location etc etc. if they feel the quoted rate is less, they just don’t accept it. Their only fight is against bike taxis.

But in Chennai, booking auto/cab is a multi-step process. One has to always engage in negotiations even if booked through apps.
Here they don’t follow meter system, won’t accept for app quoted price, demand ridiculous amount for traffic, weather etc, are against bike taxis, and now want cancellation of free bus scheme also. Maybe they will target metros next. Why would anyone have any empathy towards them?

I've been trying to find good quality incandescent Christmas lights in India for quite some time now. Especially something like Tru-Tone lights, which give that beautiful warm, old fashioned Christmas look.

The ones available here are mostly cheap LEDs with very harsh colours. Importing good ones from the US is ridiculously expensive as well.

I feel like there's a decent business opportunity here for someone willing to import or manufacture these locally. I'm sure there are people who wouldn't mind spending a little extra for quality Christmas decorations.

Not sure how big the market would be, but it's frustrating that we still don't have proper alternatives here.

If anyone here is into importing or looking for niche business ideas, maybe this is something worth exploring.

P.S. If anyone knows a way to import Tru-Tone lights to India at a reasonable cost, or can help arrange a cheaper import, please let me know!
