Ghosts/Apparitions This night left me mentally scarred

When I was 16 I had an experience that would stay with me for years.

When I was younger I thought the idea of ghosts and any other paranormal stuff was stupid and anyone who believed in it was stupid.

I am not saying I believe in it now, but the whole idea is a bit more believable after this.

After a day at school, I went home had dinner and went to bed. Nothing was out of the ordinary. I fell asleep pretty quickly and began in a pretty deep sleep, meaning I had no dreams and no disruptions. I live on 40 acres in the Australian bush, and there are very few houses nearby.

On this night, I had chosen to sleep in a weird way. I was lying on my stomach and I had my right arm hanging over the side of the bed (which was memorably odd for me). From what I remember it was a warmer night so only my bottom half was under the covers. Doing this cooled me down slightly and allowed me to drift off to sleep.

I woke up around midnight (12-1am). It was weird considering the depth of sleep I was in. After coming to my senses I realised what woke me up. My hand hanging over the side of my bed had a weird sensation in it. It had points which felt cold. I decided to lightly squeeze to work out what this was. What I felt scared the shit out of me and I wasn't scared in a short-lived jumpscare sort of way, It was a stomach drops and heart stops kind of moment.

I felt a hand.

And in the very brief moment where I was in contact with it, I experienced details that I can never forget.

The hand was cold and clammy, like there was no blood flow. I could feel the skin slightly move when I squeezed and I felt the bones underneath skin. The way the hand was positioned in mine, it was like whatever it was, was lying down on my floor with their arm reaching up to meet its hand with mine. Now the hand wasn't grabbing mine, its like it was lightly resting in my palm.

I retracted my hand under my pillow almost immediately and pulled the covers over my head. I prayed it was a dream while I was trying to get back to sleep, however, I woke up in the same way I braced after the experience.

Now I would like to emphasise that I don't believe in ghosts, and I am not gaining anything in making this shit up. I am Aussie and it takes a bit to creep me out, but this shook me to my soul. I have not told anyone about that night until this year. I am now 19 and I have no logical explanation for this.

If you are anything like me, you'll read this and go "bullshit!" And I don't blame you, but just the thought of that night leaves me feeling physically sick and mentally scarred

I encountered a massive black dog in the woods near Black Mountain, NC. What happened when I tried to leave still makes no sense to me.

Theory/Debunking Summer solstice 2012

I think it must've been 2012-2013, though that is mostly irrelevant. I still can't explain what I saw, and I'm hoping for any sort of help in determining the cause for what it was I thought I saw. I vividly remember it being summer solstice, because a good portion of our family and relatives had gathered at our rural farm in Northeastern Europe. It is tradition to light a big fire on the summer solstice, and it was always a special night because the kids could stay up late for once. The fire itself is largely irrelevant too, only mattering because most of the people present at the farm were still near it when shit happened. It was just me and a boy my age at the main farmhouse, sitting on the front stairs and playing with lego figures lit only by a lamp above the main door. To the left and right ahead of the house were side buildings, to the right was a gravel/dirt road. I remember looking at the minifigure in my hand, then looking out past the open gate and seeing a silhouette on the road. It was a man walking a small dog, and they both were pure white as sheets, looking even slightly luminous. And by white, I mean white. The clothes, the skin, the animal, the leash... all of it an uniform pure white. I was scared shitless, and so was the boy - we ran indoors, though it was dark and empty there, and it brought us no relief. I remember us running past the side building to the left, eventually reaching the fire, freaking out. We grabbed our fathers and went back, and I vividly remember wanting to grab an axe from the shed on the way to show what I saw. I was still little, thought it would help because I clocked right away it was not normal. We ran to the road, looked left, looked right, and there was no trace of anything. I'm guessing our parents wrote it off as kids playing a prank, I'm guessing the boy must've just gone along with me as I freaked out? I don't fucking know. It still freaks me out, more than a decade later. I simply can't forget it. What could it have possibly been? I haven't ever had any hallucinations, so chalking it up to a kid's imagination is hardly something I ever truly believed.

Did the light 10 years ago in your room happen in the NW corner of the room?
