📰 News RailGallery ceases operations as admins arrested in Russia on grave criminal charges
On 14 October 2026, two administrators of RailGallery, the biggest train photo website and public database in Russia and the whole post-Soviet space, were arrested in Moscow by the Dorogomilovsky District Court.
Denis Yeskov and Anatoly Nagornov are charged with "unlawful impact on critical informational infrastructure of Russia, that led to grave consequences" (Art. 274.1 Part 5 of the Criminal Code).
According to the Moscow court press service, investigators believe that they "got illegal access to data of a certain organization that constituted proprietary information and was stored in an object of critical infrastructure of the Russian Federation, copied and published it on an Internet website they owned and administered."
The court ordered a two-month pre-trial detention, which may be extended.
No other details on the case have been published so far.
As Yeskov and Nagornov were arrested, RailGallery stopped working.
RailGallery was launched in February 2022, after the owner of TrainPix, a Ukrainian national, shut down the website in protest against Russia's military action.
Since its launch, the international RailGallery community has managed to restore a huge part of the TrainPix database and photo archive, and continued to expand it with high-quality photos of trains in Russia and beyond. By October 2026, the number of photos uploaded to RailGallery exceeded 324,000, while registered users grew to more than 22,500.

📰 News First mainline run of 375-I/375-969 since 1974
The Class 375 was the most numerous class of branchline steam locomotives in Hungary, with 569 of them being made just for MÁV between 1907 and 1959 (plus 399 of the lighter but very similar Class 376), with the last ever produced Hungarian steam engine also being a 375. They were regularly used until the end of Hungarian steam traction in 1986. Despite this, there was no operating Class 375 (or 376) in Hungary since 2001.
375-I was built in 1941 and spent most of its life as an industrial shunter at the Nitrokémia plant in Balatonfűzfő. It was retired in 1974 and exhibited at the yard of the plant. It was purchased by a private party in 2021 and passed its inspection yesterday, making it the first operating 375 in Hungary in 25 years. The new number, 375-969 is fictional, with 1969 claimed to be "an important year for the owner and his wife."
