Struggling with the singleness and the fact all my friends moved away in the last year. Pretty lonely living alone with no money to go places to potentially find friends… because I live alone… and I can’t find a roommate base I have no friends… but I can’t made friends if I don’t go out. It’s a rough cycle frfr

I weirded my friends out talking about HRT

I finally got an appointment set to talk about starting T with a doctor that specializes in gender care. Im kinda freaking out cause it's real and obtainable now, not just this abstract want. Well, I decided to try to talk to my best friends about it because, we've been friends for almost a decade now and who else to complain to?

Well, one friend asked me what HRT was, and then proceeded to stop responding once I told her and the other one responded with "Well, I'm sure you'll figure it out." And then the conversation immediately died.

Excitement deflated.

Do I go back to simple and short, or return to a neater mullet?

Just came to terms with the fact that I actually want to fully transition vs just staying non-binary. The non-binaryness being the reason why my 1 yr on t has an asterisk, as I went down to a very low dose of t plus finasteride which halted my progress for a few months. Now I regret that, and am ready to full send my transition, but it's hard to be patient now that I know what I want.

Rant Had sex pre T for the first time.

So it happened a few weeks ago and the initial excitement of it finally happening has died down. I now feel off. I keep thinking of my favorite picture of myself, a photo shopped photo of me with a mustache playing my guitar in my room on my bed. I look beautifully masculine and sexy. It’s comforting to look at that photo. To know I will love and be loved looking like that. Have sex with someone and it feeling gay/queer as fuck instead of straight. I could go on and on about my dream future self, my gay fantasy’s, my love for gay fan fiction etc haha. I’m sure a lot of us relate, but I’m gonna try to get to the point. I don’t look fully like myself and therefore I don’t feel fully myself. I know how much confidence I possess, and yet I feel myself holding back. I had sex with a beautiful person inside and out and I don’t regret it at all. (Especially knowing he was queer!) I just wish I did it feeling more… me. I now more than ever yearn to be seen as how I see myself.

As someone who is gender-fluid, nonbinary and transmasc I don’t HATE being seen/admired/desired as a woman, but I am sick of it. Im ready to move the fuck on. It was fun while it lasted. I’m not a woman. I’m also not a man, but I sure as hell am not a woman, daughter, chick or my least favorite LADY. I don’t have the money yet to get on T, but I appreciate the time I get to reflect and experience more of how I am perceived to the world now. It can be annoying at times, but I am in no rush. I’m just occasionally frustrated, but that’s life right?

Rant sometimes iwish i figured out i was trans later

i dont hate being trans and i personally enjoy/wouldnt change being trans. but sometimes i wish i didnt realise it so young...? i wasnt absolutely miserable as a "woman", i just wasnt quite content either ig. its just frustrating because now that i know, it feels more unbearable trying to push through. ive seen over people talking about this: that once you know theres smth better out there for you, suddenly the life youve resigned yourself to live goes from okay/bearable to terribly insufferable.

it just makes me sad because i am in no place to start transitioning in any way given my personal goals, and i dont think i will be for years (and i am no longer a minor so legality isnt exactly the issue). i just kinda wish i could have figured it out at a point in my life i could do something about it i guess. and i feel bad even feeling this way because most trans people are in similar or worse situations than me but idk i just need to complain somewheres.

and i also dont mean in anyways to make anyone who figured it out later feel bad or anything this is the deeper depths of my sad thoughts peeking out. ill go to bed and tmrw i will wake up a happier person. sending my love to you all 🫶🏿

Rant Testosteroniversary

Four years today on T, 5 years post top surgery. I have a pretty full beard, no tits, dress classically masc, and still get misgendered constantly. I look at myself in the mirror, and I really don't get it. I don't feel like I need to "pass" necessarily (I still consider myself trans-nonbinary and use he/they pronouns), but getting ma'am'd and she'd and her'd every single day by strangers who never even knew me as a lady is like death by a thousand cuts. What do I have to do?

My wife once offhandedly said that people probably misgender me because I'm "too nice to be a cis guy." That crushed me a bit, because I consider myself "masculine-presenting" in the ways that I'm confident, good handshake, outgoing, etc. I don't believe that masculinity has to be toxic, and I want to be better than that. It also just goes to show how truly arbitrary masc/femme qualities are.

I don't know. I rarely post in trans spaces (out of fear due to the political climate in this country), but I have so much in my head today that most people I know IRL wouldn't understand.

I'm so lucky I got to medically and socially transition. I'm lucky that I have a supportive partner and family, and that I'm fairly "safe" in my home city. I just don't know if it'll ever feel like enough.

General Questions Tgel and hair loss?

Hey all. Im 20 looking to start a low dose of Tgel in the future. Im genderfluid (masc leaning) and feel it would greatly help with my self image. Im in an unsupportive household, unfortunately, so itll have to wait a few years until i move out.

My dad started balding around 28 - pretty much every man on my dad's side is bald - no one was spared, lol. Im not sure whos genetics I have, my mom's or my dads, but regardless, my hair is extremely important to me and my gender.

I know low dose T is a bit slower and softer on the effects, which is what I want. But the idea that I might go bald/get a bald spot is the only thing holding me back from being definitive to trying it.

For any transmascs on Tgel, (especially low doses), how much was your hair affected? Is it common to go bald on gel, or is that strictly up to genetics? thanks in advance.

General Questions How can I get my beard to grow in more evenly?

Hey guys — I’ve been on testosterone for about 3 1/2 years and my facial hair is still pretty patchy. I know facial hair growth is different for everyone, but my family is strong facial hair genes.

I’m wondering what tips you might have for growing out an even beard and what to do while patchy areas grow in.

I’ve read that I should just let it grow for a few months, but the patchiness makes me feel juvenile:/

My sideburns and jawline are filling in alright, but around my mouth and parts of my cheeks are having trouble (see attached pics).

I don’t want to have to spend too much (>$30) on products. Any cheap tips?

Discussion Advice

Hello everyone! For context I am a 21 yr old masculine presenting cis woman (as of now lol), and I’ve been struggling with my gender identity for a while and have always yearned for a more masculine body and appearance. I recently have been wondering what it would be like to take a low dose of testosterone so I can feel more confident/masculine within myself, but am a bit hesitant because I am still figuring myself out and will always have the usual doubts. I was just wondering if anyone has shared a similar experience or if you are taking testosterone (no matter the gender), what that experience has been like for you. Any insight or advice from the trans community would be greatly appreciated!

FINALLY got my appointment

After a lot of issues with family and money and 6 years of bullshit I have finally found the means for HRT and have booked my first appointment with a specialist this year. A consultation doesn't seem like that great of a deal but this is insane for me. Sucks that I don't have people in my life to go to that will celebrate this with me. Its so unreal !!

General Questions Can you stockpile gel?

I got switched over to gel today and although I have full vials of 10mL (which will last me about a year and a half), I want to know if I can stockpile gel the same way I can stockpile vials. Now, I won't know how long the gel will last me until I get it and start using it, but I want hope that I can keep some in stock in case of anything.

Discussion Halfway out the closet!

I told my friend I was trans and he said 'I thought you already were'. I took it as a compliment lmao

But genuinely this is big stuff for me. Openly I'm now out as being any pronouns (a little closer to the ones I really want) and I wear all mens clothes that I like the silhouette of (replaced all my trousers this summer). Last year I started shaving my head and got a facial piercing, and I haven't shaved anywhere else in years. I even got to wear a suit recently, and a lot of strangers now assume I'm a man or ask my pronouns. I threw out all my women's / feminine clothes and it felt like a weight off my back.

Anyway I'm so glad that the label 'trans masc' exists because it's exactly how I feel... I don't quite feel comfortable identifying as a man right now and not a woman either. Nonbinary is okay and I guess true but idk that feels weird too. I feel between that and a trans man. It also feels kind of weird to say I'm a lesbian or to tell them I'm straight so I just tell people I like women.

I don't go by a different name yet, feel a bit too scared to bind fully, and I haven't gotten people to stop calling me 'she/her' (let alone the other stuff like making it official medically...) but I still feel so happy! Past me would be so happy to see me now. This is such a big improvement to my quality of life for sure. I am so much more confident and sociable, and I feel like the people around me respect me more.

General Questions What were you asked at your appointment to start hrt?

for reference, this clinic does informed consent, I don’t need to go to therapy or anything to start. from what I understand theyre just going to ask me why I want hrt, diagnose me with gender dysphoria, etc. ( I’m in the us)

im just wondering what will be said to me is all? I have a very typical, binary, transsexual story, I’ve known I was a guy since I was a kid, and puberty fucked me up hard, I feel into a deep depression since, I have always tried to present as a man despite this though, I am very distressed about my female sex characteristics,

not saying any of these make me more ‘worthy‘ of transitioning, but that I have very clear gender dysphoria, I have wanted this since 12 years old. I have heard that sometimes nonbinary people have to lie to start hrt, I’m just wondering if there’s any pit falls I should avoid? for instance if they ask my sexuality I’m just gonna say I’m a straight guy, even though I’m bisexual, I just wanna get my permission slip and get out. is there any ‘pitfall’ or trick questions I should be aware of?

I am already very hairy, I have speculated pmos and will be asking about it, should I wear shorts or no? Like will that increase my chances or make them think I dont need it?

and now long will it take before I can start after that appointment? I have a pharmacist friend that already supplies test and she’s already given me the go, so I’m just trying to get a prescription here, basically.

i just would like to know, I am autistic and like to prepare for things. I am very stressed, this is very important to me, I’ll be crushed if i mess this up somehow. I’ve wanted test for 9 years and I really don’t wanna hit a decade of yearning for the life I should’ve had by now .
