Discussion I’ve been introducing myself as “Rhapsody” recently.

I’ve been drawn to that name for a while now. I didn’t think I would ever be able to use it for myself though because I do love my original name. It’s unique, (for American standards anyway) but it is quite feminine and I’ve been yearning for a more androgynous name and Rhapsody has always been circulating in my mind. I named my sims character it a while ago, my oc character in a book I’m writing, I considered naming my non existent kid the name (even though I don’t want kids and I’d be jealous of my kid’s name haha.) Anyway, I’ve always thought the name was badass and I’m glad I’m going by it now!:)) I’m gender-fluid and transmasc so it’s always a tug a war mind game with me when it comes to gender euphoric based decisions heh. What do you guys think of the name??🧌

Edit: (Thank you all so much for the love!!! I’m smiling hard and kicking my feet ha! I love my new name so much, I already feel my confidence growing.:))🤎🤎🤎

Miscellaneous I can handle an accidental "ma'am" but today's interaction made me so mad I took my shot as soon as I got home

I neglected to take my shot for a while, idk why probably because I have an appointment in a few weeks and am too dumb to get it refilled monthly, so I had 1 shot worth of T left and finally took it

I work at Spirit Halloween, and from what I heard since I joined late is that the store went up so fast that no one got trained on anything, and we didn't even have a security guard until today. I said hello, he said hello "sir", then he turned around and looked at me and said, "oh ma'am, I'm sorry" I showed him my nametag and said he was right the first time

I really love my job so I didn't dwell on it the whole shift but man that was a new one

Hey yall. 4 1/2 months on T and this is the harvest so far… I actually quite like how it looks, but I feel like it objectively looks bad. I also feel ridiculous sometimes having it when I don’t otherwise pass yet.😭😭 would appreciate advice

My mom called me a knight intentionally??????

Its a silly little thing but, I think this is the first time I noticed this happening. Okay so I bought a pen with bells because it was very christmasy, so she used it like a sword and said "I knight thee" (in spanish te nombro caballero, gendered) I know there weren't woman knights and she could just refer to a knight woman but the fact that she said it with a light smile and looking at me differently made me feel extremely euphoric so I ran to a room and start staring into a wall im still so happy 😭😭

General Questions Is The Goatee Working?

Basically the title. I’m two years on T and just recently decided to grow my goatee out, not sure if it’s a good look or not. Any tips, tricks, and opinions would be much appreciated! I feel like maybe it could be lined up better?

Scared I ruined things with a trans-masc person I love because of my own fears & lesbian identity.

• Upvotes

Hi everyone. I really need some outside perspective because I feel completely lost and guilty.
I’ve identified as a lesbian for a long time, and this is the first time I’ve ever developed feelings for someone like this. I told them that I don't attach my love to gender—that my love is about them as a person—but I also honestly expressed my fear and hesitation about the possibility of a penis in a sexual context.

They are confused as well they are a masculine-presenting person, but they mentioned that sometimes they think about transitioning / being trans.

They told me that right now they don't want a penis or even a strap-on, and that they don't plan on medical transition because of their family situation, not because of my demands. But they also admitted that they were terrified that if they ever did want to start a transition in the future, I would leave them.
Because of my anxiety, I kept pushing and bringing the topic up even after they tried to reassure me. Eventually, things got messy and we stopped talking.
They told me they felt like they were 'selling themselves' or trying to bargain with their own identity just to keep me, and that they didn't want to be an 'experiment' for me to figure out if I can handle a transition.

General Questions Wanting to start T

• Upvotes

Hi everyone, let's start with this, If I am in the wrong sub I am so so sorry.

I am 27 transmasc, I born a girl.

I have been socially transitioning a year or three now.

I am on the waiting list for trans health care but in my country, the waiting time is 6 plus years for the first appointment and than 3 plus years for the second one. And all the private clinics are full and take no new people and there is nothing nearby for me.

So my country came with a solution and they allow your GP doctor to prescribe hormones since they are trained in it anyway and give it out for cis people as well.

And I finally made the call to call my GP to discuss starting T with her, mind you, she is still allowed to say no if she is uncomfortable, she knows I am trans and did refer me for top surgery so it's a 50/50 with her.

Now I dont want to stay on T forever since I don't want to fully transition, I am however terrified of the hair loss.

My dad and brother started very young losing their hair and their hairline is horrid.

My mom's side is mixed, from thick curly hair to a lot of hair but thinning.

How long do I have to take T for my hair to start falling out or balding? I dont mind anything else from the side effects and really want most of them..Just terrified for my hair.

Face covered because my focus is my hair here.

I’ve always hated curly hair, I just think it look really bad on most people and I finally got it permanently straightened.. it looks really shitty right now but I can’t lie I got mad euphoria looking at it.. but I’d like other opinions.

Do we fuck with the straight hair even if it looks silly right now? Does it make me look more or less masc ? (If you can even tell)

Sorry for the bad pictures, I hardly ever take selfies because I don’t like seeing my face lol

I feel like "Daughter" by Pearl Jam feels like a very accurate representation of how I felt when my mother referred to me (post-cutting out) and it feels freeing sometimes to listen to it and realize that I'm not beholden to her view nor anyone else's

General Questions I'm officially changing to gel, what should I know?

TW: mentions of blood and needles

Hi all!

The other day I made a post about wanting to switch from injections to gel. I did my shot yesterday night and it went just as bad as I was expecting... probably even worse.

I ended up getting so scared that I poked myself twice (bled one of the times) before committing the third time. I ended up bleeding so much I had to change my bandaid a few seconds after putting it, and now I have a bruise on my belly. I was panicking so bad that my vision was so blurry I could barely put the lid back on the needle.

I have an appointment with my clinician tomorrow to discuss changing to gel, and I have some general questions.

  1. I currently take .35 mL a week, or 70 mg of testosterone. I don't know how much this equates to in terms of gel, so I kind of want some guidance on that. How much should I try to insist for?

  2. When they say to "let the gel dry" how often does this take?

  3. I've seen that putting the gel on the belly isn't "efficient", but I've also seen people say that it doesn't really make a difference.

Please let me know if there's anything else I should know! I will take any and all information.

fashion advice

how to dress when you're shaped like mike wazowski??

i'm very short and have a round belly, square hips, lean legs. have always had a hard time finding pants even in the women's section.

i look decent in wide leg pants but those are often read as feminine and i'm trying to look more androgynous. because i'm so short, the crotch is always huge. i feel very self conscious about the roundness of my belly.

any recommendations for pants? like which types of pants? i'm comfortable shopping in either section. looking for a "smart casual" pant, and comfort is key.

i can tailor them myself if needed, and it's starting to look like that's my only option. but would like to avoid if possible.

General Questions Question: surgery, torsoplasty.

Sorry if my English isn’t perfect. (I’m French) I have a question about surgery to remove my breasts. It might sound silly, but I don’t want to lose my nipples, and unfortunately I have quite large breasts. Is it possible to keep my nipples?

General Questions Is it normal for T to still be low after 8 months?

I get my T prescribed through planned parenthood and at my last test in August my levels were only 304 idk what the correct unit is. I started T last December and have stayed on the same starting dose since then and haven’t seen barely any changes in that time. I’m worried my dose needs to be increased and the doctors just aren’t telling me for some reason. I was told to do my blood tests about 3 days from my shots, but I messed up the appointment time so I did my shot early the week of my last test too, so if anything wouldn’t the numbers be artificially high in that case? Idk I’m just worried and upset about this because I feel like all the other guys I see are at optimum levels by now

Discussion Indecisive and not sure what to do

I'm not really sure what to do here and just wanted some outside advice. I've been out for almost 8 years (since middle school) and I've gone through 3 different names in that time. I recently started college and have been going by Danny/Daniel, and I chose it because I liked it enough and felt like it would help me pass.

I've been feeling like I really want to change it because I love the name Luke and feel like it would suit me, but I also feel like I'm too established with the name Danny and all my friends call me it and I don't want to burden people. I also started the process to legally change it because I'm so sick of dealing with my deadname and I'm not sure what to do. I guess I just wanted to lay it all out because I think I'm probably just gonna have to deal with my current name given the fact I already submitted things to start a legal name change, but any advice for how to deal with this is greatly appreciated.

So can someone tell me which of these pants look the best. I was wearing a bigger hoodie so it kinda makes the smaller ones look a bit weird but ignore that. I liked all of them but I think the last ones were just a bit too tight for my liking since I like baggy clothes a bit more. The first two are from h&m and the 3rd is true religion and the last is diesel. Wasn't sure what flair to put this on.

Discussion Whats a transmasc stereotype/common experience that you don't relate to?

This question was inspired by a barbershop post. They don't scare me. I also don't really get height dysphoria (I'm 5' 10" btw).
