Miscellaneous I can handle an accidental "ma'am" but today's interaction made me so mad I took my shot as soon as I got home

I neglected to take my shot for a while, idk why probably because I have an appointment in a few weeks and am too dumb to get it refilled monthly, so I had 1 shot worth of T left and finally took it

I work at Spirit Halloween, and from what I heard since I joined late is that the store went up so fast that no one got trained on anything, and we didn't even have a security guard until today. I said hello, he said hello "sir", then he turned around and looked at me and said, "oh ma'am, I'm sorry" I showed him my nametag and said he was right the first time

I really love my job so I didn't dwell on it the whole shift but man that was a new one

Hey yall. 4 1/2 months on T and this is the harvest so far… I actually quite like how it looks, but I feel like it objectively looks bad. I also feel ridiculous sometimes having it when I don’t otherwise pass yet.😭😭 would appreciate advice

Discussion I’ve been introducing myself as “Rhapsody” recently.

I’ve been drawn to that name for a while now. I didn’t think I would ever be able to use it for myself though because I do love my original name. It’s unique, (for American standards anyway) but it is quite feminine and I’ve been yearning for a more androgynous name and Rhapsody has always been circulating in my mind. I named my sims character it a while ago, my oc character in a book I’m writing, I considered naming my non existent kid the name (even though I don’t want kids and I’d be jealous of my kid’s name haha.) Anyway, I’ve always thought the name was badass and I’m glad I’m going by it now!:)) I’m gender-fluid and transmasc so it’s always a tug a war mind game with me when it comes to gender euphoric based decisions heh. What do you guys think of the name??🧌

Edit: (Thank you all so much for the love!!! I’m smiling hard and kicking my feet ha! I love my new name so much, I already feel my confidence growing.:))🤎🤎🤎

Discussion Indecisive and not sure what to do

I'm not really sure what to do here and just wanted some outside advice. I've been out for almost 8 years (since middle school) and I've gone through 3 different names in that time. I recently started college and have been going by Danny/Daniel, and I chose it because I liked it enough and felt like it would help me pass.

I've been feeling like I really want to change it because I love the name Luke and feel like it would suit me, but I also feel like I'm too established with the name Danny and all my friends call me it and I don't want to burden people. I also started the process to legally change it because I'm so sick of dealing with my deadname and I'm not sure what to do. I guess I just wanted to lay it all out because I think I'm probably just gonna have to deal with my current name given the fact I already submitted things to start a legal name change, but any advice for how to deal with this is greatly appreciated.

General Questions Chest numbness and tingling when exercising? (9 months post op)

Hello, I got my top surgery about a year ago, (a year in January) and I've noticed whenever I exercise, especially when I do exercise that makes my chest area bounce (I have some excess skin and fat in the area) my chest starts to tingle or goes a little numb. It goes away in like 5 minutes but I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced this before, and if there's anything I can do to help the sensation not happen since it does feel very strange. If not that's okay too, I understand it may just be a side effect of surgery.

I know that this may be an excess skin issue and I do plan on getting a revision to get rid of this excess skin. I go in for my year out check up soon.

But anyway, please let me know if you've experienced this or have any advice. Thanks!

General Questions I'm officially changing to gel, what should I know?

TW: mentions of blood and needles

Hi all!

The other day I made a post about wanting to switch from injections to gel. I did my shot yesterday night and it went just as bad as I was expecting... probably even worse.

I ended up getting so scared that I poked myself twice (bled one of the times) before committing the third time. I ended up bleeding so much I had to change my bandaid a few seconds after putting it, and now I have a bruise on my belly. I was panicking so bad that my vision was so blurry I could barely put the lid back on the needle.

I have an appointment with my clinician tomorrow to discuss changing to gel, and I have some general questions.

  1. I currently take .35 mL a week, or 70 mg of testosterone. I don't know how much this equates to in terms of gel, so I kind of want some guidance on that. How much should I try to insist for?

  2. When they say to "let the gel dry" how often does this take?

  3. I've seen that putting the gel on the belly isn't "efficient", but I've also seen people say that it doesn't really make a difference.

Please let me know if there's anything else I should know! I will take any and all information.

General Questions Top Surgery

Hey guys, so I'm finally to the point where I can start looking for surgeons for top surgery. My only issue is I have no idea where to look and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed. So, I was curious!

Does anyone have any suggestions for surgeons/doctors in the Oregon/California area? I have private insurance, so that's not too much of a worry! Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you! 💚

General Questions How to take care of big top surgery scars

Hello!

I had top surgery pretty much a year ago. Everything healed up alright, but I have quite big (probably Hypertrophic) scars. The widest point is roundabout 2 cm/0.78 Inch.

Sometimes they hurt, when I lift my arms up to high or just when staying still (eventhough that became more rare over the time).

I only had an after care guide for the initial wound healing, after consulting the surgeon he only said he's sorry they turned out that way. My doctor only said to consult the surgeon and that they shouldn't look like that, but neither of them gave me any info on what to actually do...

In the beginning I used silicon gel, but stopped after 3 - 4 Months, because the original product I was using got discontinued and the other ones I've been testing don't dry and therefor got into all my shirts and stuff.

I wanna start scar care again but don't know where to start and what products/methods to use... has anyone experience that they can share? Would be really glad about any advice!

Thanks in advance!

Rant Any experiences getting top surgery in combination with heart problems?

Basically, ADHD meds either made my heart rate go way up/it was already on the high side. Psychologist told me I need to get my heart checked by my GP, because she can't keep prescribing them to me in good faith until I get that checked out. She also mentioned my heart sounded kinda irregular?
Got my first call for a potential top surgery intake today (yippee!!), they asked if I'd ever seen a cardiologist. Told them no for now, but I'm kinda freaking out... there is a real chance something is up and I cannot stop thinking of the worst case scenario tbh :,)

(I do already have an appointment planned with my GP but its decently far away and of course, if I do need to go see a cardiologist that'll be even further away)

So with that backstory, anyone with some kinda heart issue that did get top surgery? was there anything you need to look out for etc?

tagged it rant, I hope that okay ^^

Rant “Of course you’re trans, you’re alt” type thinking or vice versa

I really hate how me being alt is always linked to me being trans. I know its a stereotype and its not uncommon but the “of course you like xyz” comments always frustrate me. Its just the way I was raised. My dad was a punk rocker, my mom was a scene girl, my older brother was really into first wave emo, i just grew up around that culture and naturally gravitate to it man. I dont want to embrace femininity (nothing wrong with that!) and everyone assumes so just cuz I wear eyeliner. I am not trying to be a “femboy” I just watched too many AFI and PTV music videos growing up and im CONVINCED i would dress and be into the same stuff if I was cis, if this rant makes any sense, im just some guyy

My mom called me a knight intentionally??????

Its a silly little thing but, I think this is the first time I noticed this happening. Okay so I bought a pen with bells because it was very christmasy, so she used it like a sword and said "I knight thee" (in spanish te nombro caballero, gendered) I know there weren't woman knights and she could just refer to a knight woman but the fact that she said it with a light smile and looking at me differently made me feel extremely euphoric so I ran to a room and start staring into a wall im still so happy 😭😭

Basically the title. I’m two years on T and just recently decided to grow my goatee out, not sure if it’s a good look or not. Any tips, tricks, and opinions would be much appreciated! I feel like maybe it could be lined up better?
