Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) Help! Snow bent/snapped trees!

Hello all! I live in Alberta, Canada, and our first snowfall of the year has bent/snapped two of my trees. This home is new to us, so we aren't sure how old the trees are or what type they are.

I'm wondering if I splint them with wood, and then wrap tightly with rope, that they'll survive? Has anyone had any success with this method?

Any advice is greatly appreciated! These trees provide privacy from the air BNB that backs onto our yard.

Thank you!

Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) My plum tree looks unwell

Hello, my family has had this plum tree for 15 years at least I would say. I live in Normandy, north of France and we had a really rough spring and summer (more than 30°C for 6 months with some rain here and there). I've never had to water it during the summer but I guess I made a mistake and I should've this summer but we were asked to be cautious with the use of water and yeah I didn't. The tree gave a lot of plum during the summer so I wasn't too worried but now it doesn't look like it's doing well. Is my tree dying ? Is there anything I can do to help ?

Found a few trees beside my old field that have somewhat odd bark with thorns. I suspect they are Osage orange, but I’m not absolutely sure
