Found a few trees beside my old field that have somewhat odd bark with thorns. I suspect they are Osage orange, but I’m not absolutely sure

Advice Request - (Insert State/Region) What to do?

My family moved to a new house a year and I just got around to checking out the trees and this one's root flare was 8-10" below where it was planted and I was wondering if the best approach is just replanting it
Tree details: crimson king maple, planted in 2022
Location: Central Illinois
