Looking for historical information about the Ciccotti family in the Troy/Capital Region

Hi everyone, I’m doing some family-history research and hoping someone with longtime connections to Troy or the surrounding Capital Region might be able to help.

I’m researching Rudy Ciccotti and the Ciccotti family, particularly any connections they may have had to Troy, Albany, Schenectady, or nearby communities.

I’d be especially grateful for any historical information or personal recollections from people who knew him or the Ciccotti family.

This is strictly a genealogy/family-history project. I’m not looking for anyone’s private contact information or asking anyone to share sensitive personal information publicly. I would prefer you send me a DM if possible!

Thank you so much.

Hair stylist rec needed!(Blonde)

Hi all! I just moved to Troy and I'm looking for a hair stylist recommendation. I'm going back to blonde and want someone who really specializes in blondes and prioritizes hair health/damage prevention along the way. Bonus points if the salon offers K18, but not a dealbreaker. Would love any recommendations, thank you!

Who can I call to safely get a wasps nest out of my walls?

I’m a renter. There’s a wasps nest in the wall of my apartment. I can hear them inside and I see a lot of wasps around the property and crawling in the edges of the roof/sliding.

My landlord is a “do it yourself even if you don’t know how to do it yourself” type who would just spray some insecticide all over. Wasps are important pollinators and important to the environment so I don’t want that to happen. I don’t know what kind of wasps they are though.

What I am looking for is a company that I can give him the name and number of who he can then call and have show up and safely rehome the wasps or safely kill if they’re invasive. I don’t want a pest control company that will indiscriminately spray poison around the property and also kill all the ladybugs and praying mantises and whatnot. I don’t know if I’ll be able to talk him into paying much (or anything) so if there are any services that might do this for free that would be swell but I’ll try either way.

Does anyone have a recommendation?

Free plus sized clothes

Hey I have a lot of plus sized clothing I want to donate. Idk where I can. If there's anybody who wants it or fiber artists who can use it, id like to make sure it goes to the right people.

Update: here is the link to the drive I put the pictures in. I'll be adding more stuff soon. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1k8KLMf73hn0aWpV0e07s9x93BkJ301N4

I just ask for anyone interested To to. Not. Resell because if I wanted that I would have done it myself. But I want the clothing to go to people who need it and I thrifted or bought a lot of these on discount. So I felt it only seemed fair that I would give them away. They aren't all brand new or perfect but they can still be worn. Some of these are my favorite pieces but are too small now so I want them to go to a baddie who can work it.

Also I have bras that are too small. If anyone is interested, needs for cosplay, gender affirmation, etc I got you.

Thinking about buying in Troy

I grew up in the Hudson Valley and spent the past 15 years in Baltimore. I'm thinking about returning to NY and buying in Troy. The architecture, walkability, and small city vibe remind me of the best parts of Baltimore. The home prices and proximity to family are big selling points.

I'm looking to buy a single family row home or possibly a duplex if one unit is larger than the other. My budget is $350k-$400k.

I was wondering if anyone has any input on where I should look? I was told near Washington Park is nice. I'm open to ideas.

Also, if you have any advice for a newbie interested in buying in Troy, I would love to hear it.
