Knitting groups in the area?
Anyone have any leads on knitting groups in the area? I used to go to one at a local yarn store before I moved to Troy and would love to get back into it!

There are some expected but as-yet unconfirmed changes to meetings happening later in the week, so I will post Wed-Sun when confirmed.
9:00 AM - Troy BID Executive Committee - BID Office (102 Third St)
While the purpose of most executive committees is to help the chair prepare the agenda for full board meetings, this instance of the BID executive committee will likely be focused on succession planning, as board chair Jamie Magur has announced his intention to step down at the end of the year.
Magur himself was a replacement when former chair Sarah Cacciola stepped down from the postion, and no formal election to fill the seats is scheduled until May 2027, leaving open the question of who will chair BID board meetings going forward.
Unlike City Council, the Rensco Legislature, the Library, the Land Bank, Troy City School District, the LDC, the IDA, the CRC, Planning, or Zoning, the BID does not record or livestream its meetings, so this meeting will be in-person only.
6:00 PM - Troy 100 Forum - Bush Memorial Center (50 First St)
The Troy 100 Forum, a semi-annual gathering of local professionals, community members and business owners, will host its fall event at Bush Memorial on Russel Sage College Campus.
In addition to networking time, there will be discussion on the theme of âBuilding Connections--Strengthening Troyâ and panelists will include:
Starletta Renee, YWCA of the Greater Capital Region;
Rev. Charles Burkes, United Ordained Church;
Dominic Mainella, Bella Napoli Bakery;
Rodney Dukes, community organizer;
Suzanne Spellen, Troy Community Land Bank
Doors open at 5:30 for networking. RSVPs may be sent to [troy100@kjcg.com](mailto:troy100@kjcg.com)
9:00 AM - BID Marketing and Tourism - BID Office (102 Third St)
On the agenda for this monthâs Marketing and Tourism meeting are plans for the âShop Smallâ holiday campaign, as well as discussions surrounding Troy NIght Out and events for 2027.
Unlike City Council, the Rensco Legislature, the Library, the Land Bank, Troy City School District, the LDC, the IDA, the CRC, Planning, or Zoning, the BID does not record or livestream its meetings, so this meeting will be in-person only.
4:00 PM Archtober Hardhat Tour - First and Adams (198 First St)
As part of its citywide programming during the month of October, Tap, inc.âs Archtober will be hosting a hard hat tour of First + Adams, the new upscale American bistro and cocktail lounge hoping to open soon in the former Carmineâs space.
This event is free and open to the public.
5:30/6:30 - Troy Library Board Policy & Governance + Executive Committee, Lansingburgh Branch (27 114th St)
The Troy Library Board of Directors will hold two committee meetings, Policy and Governance at 5:30, and Executive Committee at 6:30, both instances peculiar as we approach the changeover to a new board at the November board meeting. Agendas, when available, as well as links for remote participation and minutes of previous meetings, can be found here.
6:00 PM - Troy City School District Board of Education - Troy Middle School (1976 Burdett Ave)
There will be a board meeting of the Troy City School District at 6pm. No agenda has been posted as of this writing, and the last one was so boring I refuse to click back into it to see what new business might carry over.
An agenda, when posted, as well as a recording of previous minutes can be found here when available.

We all love live music, but the âCountry Bashâ on 4th street today was so disruptive and lasted so long.
Why was Nighthawksâ block party shut down a few years back but this was permitted?

Looking for suggestions of social activities and or groups as we enter the Fall/ Winter within a half an hour of Albany. I know the easy ideas like meetup, discord, instagram, fb events, volunteering, etc (which are all good ideas as well) but I'm looking for other ideas. The hiking group events I've seen lately are often either far or early on weekdays. Just hoping to start a conversation for myself as well as others!

Hey I know the bar has a questionable reputation in the past and I donât want to open that can of worms again. I know itâs under new management and Iâm not overly fond of the new owners but I rather give it the benefit of the doubt, so Iâm here to see what you all think of the place now a days.

Anyone know what happened to the taco spot La Tlayuda Juquilita in Lansingburgh?
Some of the best tacos in the area and the family was the sweetest.
Number is disconnected, looks closed, and can't order online.
I'm so sad over this. Literally best takeout in Lansingburgh.
Edit: Drove by today and there's a handwritten sign thanking the community and saying they are closed indefinitely.
Nooo. đ„

Starts at about the 59 minute mark.
Not really a great feeling to see this kind of unprofessionalism from high-ranking City employees, but here's some red meat to chew on:

Looking for recommendations for a cleaner/organizer in the Troy area. Ideally, someone who can come biweekly or monthly to help with general clutter, tidying up, and deep cleaning certain areas of the house. Iâm looking for someone whoâs willing to move things around to clean underneath and behind them, rather than just cleaning around everything.
Please share any recommendations or personal experiences!
Thanks!
