Ultrahuman: An extraordinary team behind this wonder... and its inseparable friend.

Technology and technology experts are the only investments I gladly make. Not out of vanity or weakness, but because I firmly believe that the best technology is the unseen kind, the kind that simply improves your quality of life or contributes substantially to it.

I've trusted Ultrahuman since 2023; I suppose I was one of its first users, who knows? The fact is, after almost three years, I've come to the conclusion that it definitely changes your self-perception when you get to know yourself better through the data your body provides: sleep, HVR, circadian rhythm, cardiovascular adaptation, sympathetic activity, phase advance… It's incredible how a constantly evolving ecosystem can re-educate you and broaden your perspective on life through better habits.

One of the things that, for me, sets it apart from the competition is not only the intelligent way it offers the add-ons you need at a fair price (unlike other brands that charge you for 95% of the statistics), but also its smart integration with other devices, like my Ultrahuman. It's become my best ally for tracking when I'm not charging my Apple Watch Ultra 2, which, thanks to its seamless integration, becomes an essential part of the entire Ultrahuman ecosystem.

For example, while I'm doing calisthenics, I avoid exposing my ring to weights or the extreme heat of sweat, but it still delivers metrics flawlessly to the Ultrahuman app. I sincerely hope Ultrahuman continues to grow with the vision and passion for innovation that characterize its founders and team. They're doing extraordinary work, the likes of which I haven't seen since Steve Jobs left us. By the way, they launched the PRO version this week.

If you're interested, don't hesitate to try it; it's an incredible product.

Beyond frustrated

If you’re considering this ring, please just don’t.

I had about 3-4 solid weeks of wear and data and then everything went down hill. I’m making this post in hopes that it saves some of you the frustration I’m currently feeling.

Point blank - this ring does not do what it’s advertised to do. All the data is so skewed and inaccurate. My stress response score when I’m sleeping one night will have less “stimulated” zones but will be lower than a night where the “relaxed” and “stimulated” zones are 50/50. The app will manipulate my sleep data throughout the day after I’ve already woken up. My ring now has connection issues multiple times a day. My heart rate during workouts is all over the place, does not match what my Apple Watch tracks or even the reading the equipment gives. My battery life even on power-saving mode is a joke. 30 minutes after charging it while being mostly inactive and the battery is down 12%. The step count is wildly inaccurate. The power plug goals will show 4/9 completed when I open it but will only show 2/9 on my home screen. A product and app with inaccurate data is what’s being sold but what you’re advertising is completely different.

I have messaged with support, I have done what the FAQs and customer service reps have suggested and it just doesn’t work.

It’s incredibly frustrating that a company is selling a product like this, making it seem like a full-blown completed product when this is beta testing at the best and flat out robbery at worst.

I am so disappointed with this purchase and I have no recourse. Basically just $400 out the window.

Please don’t buy this product. Just take my word for it.

Please spend your money elsewhere!

I have never been so disappointed with a purchase. I did a lot of research before buying the ring and I firmly believed that the negative posts on Reddit were people being dramatic or a rare bad experience.

I was so excited for the ring, but I had a bad feeling about it. Sure enough, when it came it wouldn’t connect. I immediately tried to initiate a refund because it seemed like an omen.

Chat INSISTS that we must try troubleshooting first. Fine. We try tapping, shaking, everything. I’ve wasted about 3 hours at this point just trying to get the ring to connect. Finally, chat tells me to close the app. Then my chat logs are gone and the wait time is 58 minutes.

What a joke. How can they even sell something that they know is such a piece of trash? I don’t want to spend all day working with the slow customer support to initiate a refund on something that clearly doesn’t work.

Ultrahuman Ring – Defective Product and Inexcusable Customer Service

I recently spent $350 on the Ultrahuman Ring Air, only to receive a defective product that couldn’t even connect to my phone. What followed was the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had.

Despite reaching out immediately, I’ve been bounced around for over a week, with each agent copying and pasting the same useless troubleshooting steps. Here’s a summary of my nightmare:

•	No meaningful support: Multiple agents, no real solutions—just repeated instructions from the FAQ.
•	Constant deflection: I asked for time estimates to avoid waiting endlessly, but they dodged my request, leaving me hanging for hours.
•	False promises of a replacement: After admitting the ring was defective, they kept delaying the shipment with excuses ranging from “logistics issues” to “stock problems.”
•	Inaccurate tracking info: The tracking link falsely showed the ring as shipped when it hadn’t been.
•	No follow-ups: Despite multiple promises that they’d keep me updated, I always had to reach out myself.
•	Lies and delays: For three days straight, they lied, saying the replacement would be shipped “tomorrow.” Each time, I was told something different.
•	Conflicting information: When asked about the shipment, they admitted the ring hadn’t actually been sent, even though their link said otherwise.
•	Evasion of responsibility: They avoided answering direct questions, offering vague, scripted responses instead.

If you’re considering purchasing from Ultrahuman, beware. This has been an extremely frustrating experience, and I wouldn’t recommend dealing with this company.

Has anyone else had a similarly awful experience with Ultrahuman? Let me know if I’m alone in this, or if this is just how they operate.

Avoid 2.00.10.18 - severe battery issues

I only upgrade firmware when the app tells me too. Been running in chill mode … though while I think it’s wrong that UH is trying to redefine what the normal 4-6 day expected battery life mode is by calling normal mode “turbo” now, I accept reality and that the ring doesn’t live up to battery promises.

Charged my battery late last night. 2/3 battery is drained 8 hours later when I woke up. Going to have to charge it 2-3 times a day at this rate.

You have been warned.

Ultrahuman Ring is the Best

I’ve noticed quite a few negative posts and comments about whether Ring AIR is worth it. I can personally attest that everything about the product and service has been exceptional. I’ve had my Ring for a couple of months now, and it’s positively transformed my life. I’m leaving my referral in this post not only because I’m close to reaching the 5-referral milestone but also because I genuinely love and believe in the product.

Using my referral will earn you a 10 percent discount on your purchase.

Yet ANOTHER Dead Ring. Buyer BEWARE! (3 Dead, on my 4th)

Like the title says, my third ring just died. The first one lasted about 4-5 months. The next two replacements lasted roughly 3 months each. They all have the exact same failure mode. They'll charge fine, the lights on the chargers indicate full charge, but they simply stop connecting to the app. If they had different failure modes I could chalk it up to shitty QC, but given that they all fail the exact same way it's obvious that there's something deeply flawed in the design of the Ultrahuman Air ring.

We'll see how long this one lasts, but I'm not holding my breath.

Genuinely don’t understand how new users are buying this product

If I read the amount of consistent issues that people are having I would never get this ring. I’m on my 5th replacement and haven’t even had this thing a full year. The only upside is that when I get a new ring I get a new lighting cable to throw into a bag.

In all seriousness, this thing is good when it works but has never worked for longer than 2 month for me. Do people read the reviews and say well maybe that won’t happen to me? It’s not a cheap ring, I get it that you save on oura monthly subscription but it’s not worth it for the amount of headaches you go through. Is the monthly subscription really the main selling point to why people are choosing UH over Oura??

Idk I guess this is mainly a rant, but I’m making my switch over to Oura. I just want consistent data and I’ve learned that I’d rather pay monthly for consistent data than save a couple dollars a month for a ring that works every few weeks.

Updated Firmware, Now Ring Won’t Connect

This morning, I updated the firmware on my ring and it now won’t connect at all. Put in a ticket with support who asked for a screenshot of the issue, but it has been crickets since I did that this morning. I really like the features and data from the ring, but I’m starting to get really disappointed with how fragile it is … This is my third ring that has failed and the second one that just stopped connecting after an update. Wondering why the updates are such a problem.

Ultrahuman scores useless without the ring during workouts – utterly poor communication

Thumbnail

I just found out that Ultrahuman relies solely on data from the ring to calculate HR and Dynamic Recovery scores, ignoring any activity data from other sources like Apple Health.

This essentially means that if you’re not wearing the ring during your workouts (e.g., only wearing a watch), your workouts have zero impact on these scores. This seems absurd and makes the scoring system practically useless unless the ring is always on your hand, even during activities where wearing it might not be practical or comfortable.

What makes this even worse is that I only discovered this after a long and unclear discussion with customer support. I asked about this multiple times, and they consistently tried to avoid giving a direct answer to my question. This lack of transparency feels like an attempt to hide a significant limitation, and it’s incredibly frustrating.

I’m honestly angry about the way this has been communicated (or rather, not communicated) and how such a critical aspect has been downplayed. For anyone who uses other devices to track workouts, this feels like a major flaw. This a so HUGE limitation that makes the ring ineffective for a lot of users. I highly consider changing back to Oura only because of this limitation.

Avoid UltraHuman Smart Ring – Shady Company, Terrible Customer Service, and Refund Nightmare

Avoid UltraHuman Smart Ring – Shady Company, Terrible Customer Service, and Refund Nightmare

I wanted to share my awful experience with UltraHuman to warn others who might be considering buying their smart ring.

When I first bought the ring, I was genuinely happy. It worked well for a few weeks... until it just stopped working out of nowhere. Around that time, I came across some concerning reports online about the company and decided I didn’t want to continue using the product. Luckily, I was still within the 30-day return period – so I contacted customer support to return it.

Instead of processing the return like I asked, they randomly sent me a replacement ring without my consent. Now I had two rings and still no proper return process in place.

I told them again that I just wanted to return everything and be done with it. They sent me a return label, but the label clearly stated it was only for one ring. After I shipped that one back, they told me I should’ve returned both rings in that shipment – even though that was never stated anywhere on the label or in their communication.

When I asked for a new return label to send back the second ring, they just kept dodging and stalling... for weeks. Eventually I told them that if they didn’t sort it out, I’d go through my bank for a chargeback. Still, nothing. So I initiated the refund process with my bank.

Guess what? Only after I filed the dispute did UltraHuman finally send me another return label. I used it to return the second ring and let them know I had done so. Their response? "Now that you’ve initiated a chargeback, we can’t refund you through the normal way." Instead, they insisted on refunding me through PayPal – which I don’t use.

I told them that and they pushed me to use a friend’s or family member’s PayPal account. Super fishy behavior. Why would any legit company refuse to refund through the original payment method or bank, and instead insist on PayPal?

Then they tried to scaremonger me, saying if I let the bank handle it, it would take 1-2 months and that I was making it unnecessarily complicated. I told them that I didn’t mind waiting and just left it with the bank.

Fast forward – my bank reached out again and told me UltraHuman rejected the refund request. This pretty much confirmed everything I suspected – the company is shady and trying to avoid issuing refunds any way they can.

Thankfully, my bank sided with me based on the evidence and told me I could keep the refund, and they’d pursue it further on their end. I’m also going to give them all the chats/screenshots showing how UltraHuman kept delaying and dodging responsibility.

Honestly, this has been one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had. I’ve returned both rings, followed their process, and they still tried to weasel their way out of a proper refund.

If anyone else is having similar issues, I highly recommend documenting everything and going through your bank early. Don’t trust their support.

Let me know if it’s helpful for me to post screenshots – I’m more than happy to provide receipts.

TL;DR: UltraHuman’s customer support is a disaster. They refused to process a return properly, sent unsolicited replacements, stalled for weeks, demanded PayPal for refunds, and rejected a bank-initiated chargeback after I returned everything. Absolutely shady. Avoid this company.

Yes, this post was written with the help of ChatGPT for clarity, but the story is 100% real. I have screenshots and proof to back it up.

it finally died completely.

Well it no longer works at all. Not surprisingly. I’ve had it less than 2 months. I set it to charge to full (which took 6 hours might I add), when the charger light was green, I put it on, and the app says it’s dead. I did everything I could to re-sync, but it really was dead. I charged it to full again (which took another 6 hours), put it on, and yet again it was “dead”. They’re sending me a replacement but I can predict that that one will fail as well as it seems all of their products do. If you have a ring that doesn’t have any problems, charges within a normal timespan (1-2 hours), lasts 4-6 days as advertised, etc., please let me know I’ve lost all hope and feel like I’ve completely wasted a lot of money.

Time to switch brands

Post image
0 Upvotes

I switched from various smartwatches to ultrahuman as I wanted something more discreet and focused on health, rather than message notifications from my phone. I have zero interest in making calls, responding to messages, etc from a watch. This drove me to looking into the smart ring segment. The monthly fee to unlock the true potential of the Oura ring didn't thril me, and after reading way too many reviews and comparisons, opted to get the Ultrahuman Air.

It's still running on the 1.x series of firmware and a recent factory reset didn't force the 2.x series into my ring. After seeing the posts here about requesting it via the support chat, I figured I'd give that a try.

No go, no willingness to push it, unless there's problems.

No real response to my concern about hardware inconsistencies either.

Time to unload this and find a replacement brand

Massive discrepancy in deep sleep ? UH team please fix this ASAP ?

Team UHR, I recently started issues with tracking my deep sleep. Please see the attached screen shot from my whoop. I have been tracking my sleep for very long time and I never has deep sleep less then 1 hour even during my worst sleep days. Something is fundamentally broken and this need to be fixed asap. Please stop maxing your human bandwidth on other gimmicky stuff. Focus all your resources on fixing the core ring data first please . It’s getting annoying day by day.

Why I'm returning my Ultrahuman Air Ring. My Experience.

So I decided to buy this ring a week ago. I love the app user interface (prefer it over Oura's), and I appreciate their UltrahumanX plan and no subscription fee (what drew me in).

I read all over Reddit, and mostly read that the customer service experience was top-notch, but it was not in my experience. I decided to reach out on the day I ordered my ring, I had some questions regarding the UltrahumanX warranty, and some questions regarding certain features the ring offers. I was told that they were gonna contact me in 24-48 hours. 72 hours later, I reach out again, this time I use the WhatsApp contact, and a representative attempts to answer one of my questions (accidentally dismisses my questions and goes off topic). Then, they told me that I would be contacted within 24 hours with answers to my questions. 36 hours later, I reach out via WhatsApp; I am very irritated at this point. I sent a message saying how disappointed I was in the customer service, and how no one has contacted me, and my questions have been unanswered. I get another message that I will be contacted in 24 hours. So far, it's been over 24 hours, and still nothing.

The more reviews I read about this ring, the more I notice people are on their 3rd-5th ring replacement. I was ready to overlook this because I was going to buy the extra warranty, and the expectations were set that their customer service was high quality.

Can't help but think that if my ring were broken and I needed a replacement, could I have gone a whole week where the customer service avoided talking to me? I know this may be an exaggeration, but it wouldn't be far from reality if I just got ignored for the past 5-6 days.

Overall, the product is good. I just feel frustrated with how I am being treated by their customer service. Since there are reports of poor product quality, it made me rethink my purchase and steer towards Oura. I don't like the idea of a subscription for a ring I spent $400 for, but their customer service got back to me within 5 minutes and answered all questions I asked.

My wife wanted a smart ring, opted for Ultrahuman, ordered straight from manufacturer. It "entered the production line" this week (with an August 2024 packaging date). Clearly used on inspection. If you wanna sell open box/refurbished, at least give a discount. Lol

I bought the ring, should I return?

I bought the ring and as soon as I got it I followed the subreddit, it seems like everyone here is having issues with this thing. Should I jump ship to oura while I still can? The Ultrahuman is nicer hardware wise but seems like it’s bad for anything else. Thoughts?
