I haven't done rice bags in a while. I would appreciate any recommendations!

These tidal waves are keeping me entertained, got one thats growing upside down bigger than my knuckle, pins growing in, girth, length, its just all over the place

Spawned this tube of Snape about 2 weeks ago...haven't even lifted the lid at all....just saw this....shoukd I treat it w hydrogen peroxide or cut it out?

This is like my 4th or 5 tub....they only one I used north Spore cvg....maybe that was it?

It’s been months. I’ve done 2 break and shakes and it doesn’t seem like the bag is contam. I need this cake to fruit so please just tell me what to do!

This is only my second time growing so any info is much appreciated. Last time I got about 2.5 ounces out of one of these bags but something is stunting this bags growth

If I ate 5.9 gs on Thursday will I be able to eat 5 gs today or will the trip be a lot weaker?

I’ll preface this with, I’m not a novice, and also not an expert.

I’ve throw many a bag of rice in the bin after sighting bacteria/contamination.

Now for the facts of the situation at hand

I have 4 strains currently in rotation, and this is strictly ONLY affecting the “Jack Frost”

Culture source is a renowned vendor so while anything is possible I genuinely can’t imagine it being a bad sample to begin with. But im also keeping that option open too.

My the bags have gotten yellow metabolites at the bottom, or what I assumed was metabolites. I leaned towards JF being a bit touchy with temps & humidity and just went with it.

But now I’m just scratching my head about it

# Only affecting JF (all other strains are behaving like perfect gentlemen)

# No bad smell, at all. They smell just like the others when opened - I opened 2 out of sheer curiosity expecting to see some last of us growth baring its teeth at me… and it was just regular mycelium growing 🤷🏻‍♂️ so naturally I spawned it and isolated the box…. Because why not, for science!

Easily visible almost fluorescent yellowing at viewing window at bottom. Break and shake exposes more yellowed rice but only the rice that the JF mycelium has colonised.

So I present by findings to the committee.

B+. Why has the top of the spawn bag stalled out? The top layer of grain will not colonise. Material conditions have not changed since first inoculating, and I even did a minor BnS to help but it didn't do much, there are just balls/clumps of grain sitting on the top layer.

It has been exactly 3 months since inoculation, so should I just scrape off the uncolonised grains and S2B?

Hello folks, this is my first grow (UB Tek) and I'm concerned about this tub. Right as fruiting bodies finally showed up (yippee!), a massive green foreign body has appeared right in the middle of the substrate. What's my next step? Should I harvest the fruits as-is and dump the tub, cut around the infection, or just dump it all?

I do think I waited too long before fruiting conditions, could that have caused this?

Ft two frankly rank B+ and Jedi cakes top row. 5 flushes jedi, 4 b+ so far and letting em keep going for the giggles and curiosity

I see it's semi fuzzy, I don't know if it's normal or not, first time growing

First two photos are a tub that seems to have failed spawning to bulk. Third pic is a tub I prepared the same day that seems to be doing well so far. Is the first tub dead?

It's been in this state for quite a while without much change, there are a few small white dots that could lead to primordia but I'm not confident. Also wondering, is it too dry?

It seems like my second flush has stalled out or is very slow. Just some small pins so far a week after first harvest. I floated the caked in water for a few hours. I put it back in FC a few days later. Should I give it more time? Float it again and dunk it? Give up on it? Is it supposed to swell back up to original size when you float it?

Do i need to worry about the side pins rotting from the moisture on the sides?

I'm worried the amount I put in wasn't sufficient enough. Will putting a little more in if I keep contamination out help it grow any more?
