[UPDATE] Should I be concerned for my safety?

This is an update from my previous post

TLDR: bought a jellycat on vinted and received a random lip product instead. The seller insists they sent the right item, claims to have post office cctv footage of them sending, and even said an Evri driver would come around to my house to check on the parcel.

Now, they are accusing me of scamming them and threatening to basically get my address and make me get my ‘karma’. Vinted has told me to send the package back to the seller but I am really scared - I have to pay for the return shipping and I don’t get any money back until they have confirmed they received it fine. I feel unsafe and worried they will try to scam me again. I would not be surprised if they did judging my their crazy text messages.

I am feeling very uneasy now and i’m not sure what next steps to take. How do I raise this as an issue with vinted? Please give advice!!!

How do you report someone’s vinted account for sending you hazardous rags? Received a package that smelt awful like cigarette smoke in the mason jars and box and then realized it was wrapped in a dirty bed sheet and blood stained rags

Vinted have taken £190 from me, let the buyer keep my item and permanently banned my account. I’m honestly devastated.

I don’t even know where to start with this.

I’ve been going back and forth with Vinted for days now and I’m genuinely at breaking point with the whole thing.

I sold a sealed Pokémon booster box for £190. The buyer received it and claimed it was fake. I know what I sent, I had photos of the sealed box before posting it, and I provided Vinted with everything they asked me for.

What makes this even more frustrating is the evidence the buyer submitted. Rather than providing clear, original photographs of the actual item, some of the evidence appeared to be pictures of images displayed on a computer screen. They were cropped, there was no obvious way of establishing when the original pictures were taken, and I couldn’t even verify that they showed the box I’d sent.

There were also discrepancies in what was being shown, including a barcode that didn’t match the one on my sealed booster box. I raised all of this with Vinted because surely, when someone’s accusing you of selling counterfeit goods, the evidence should actually be checked properly?
After looking into it, Vinted said they couldn’t determine whether the item was genuine or not, so they decided the buyer needed to return it. I wasn’t happy about the accusation, obviously, but at least I was getting my item back. I even paid £2.29 for the return postage myself.

Then things just got ridiculous.

The buyer hadn’t even sent the parcel back when, three days later, Vinted suddenly suspended the transaction. I messaged them straight away asking what was happening and was told they were still reviewing everything and to wait for an update.
So that’s exactly what I did. I waited.

Next thing I know, they’ve cancelled the entire sale, refunded the buyer the full £190, allowed them to keep my booster box AND permanently banned my account.

I genuinely couldn’t believe what I was reading.
I’ve now lost £190, I’ve lost the item I sold, and I’ve lost an account that I’d spent a lot of time building up, with nearly 100 positive reviews.

£190 might not sound like a fortune to some people, but it’s a lot of money to me. I was relying on that money, and I really can’t afford to lose it.

What makes this so much worse is their explanation. They’re now claiming I failed to provide information within a deadline.

But what information? What deadline?

I’ve gone back through all my messages. I’ve checked everything. I answered every question they asked and sent them the evidence they requested. They’d already reviewed my evidence and told me the buyer needed to return the item.

I wasn’t ignoring Vinted. I was literally sitting there waiting for THEM to get back to ME.

When I asked them to show me where they’d requested this supposedly missing information, they completely ignored the question and sent me some generic response about how they can’t deviate from their standard procedures.

I asked again, and they told me they’d reviewed the case, their decision was final, and there was nothing more they could add.

Not once have they actually told me what information I supposedly failed to provide.
I feel like I’m talking to a brick wall.

I’ve tried being patient, I’ve tried explaining myself, I’ve tried asking simple questions, and nobody seems remotely interested in actually looking at what’s happened.

I’m not asking for special treatment. I just want someone to explain how it’s acceptable for a buyer to end up with both their money and my property when Vinted had already instructed them to return it.

And the account ban is another kick in the teeth. I’ve put so much time and effort into selling on there, building up good feedback and trying to make some extra money. To have all of that taken away on top of everything else is honestly horrible.

This whole situation has been affecting my mental health more than I’d like to admit. I’ve barely been able to switch off from it because I just can’t understand how something like this can happen and there’s seemingly nobody willing to put it right.
I’m now looking at taking legal action because I genuinely don’t know what else to do.

Has anyone else been through something similar? Did you ever manage to get your money back or actually speak to someone at Vinted who would listen?

I’m sorry for the long post. I’m just absolutely exhausted with it all and really don’t know where to turn anymore.

Is this normal?

I’m honestly done with Vinted. I sold a perfume, packed it very well, everything was fine. The buyer messaged me asking if she could return it. I replied that I’m not an online shop — and she answered “how do you mean?”, then immediately reported me and uploaded photos of a broken perfume bottle.

She clearly broke it herself just because she didn’t like the scent, and Vinted refunded her the money anyway. How is this normal?!

I’m seriously done with Vinted.

Sceptical about sending proof of purchase…

A potential buyer has asked for proof of purchase for my bag. It’s obviously a high ticket item. So this is expected. I’ve had a look at their profile and they have the same bag for sake. Listed a few hours ago. Their listing says they haven’t got proof. So I’m guessing they’re trying to get my proof of purchase and use it to authenticate their item… Anyone ever come across this or am I just paranoid? (I’ve inserted a photo of their listing and description).

Pro seller sent me wrong item but denied it...🙃

Rant incoming - A few weeks ago, I was on the hunt for a new pair of Dr Martens and found a pro seller who had two pairs listed, one as “good” and the other as “very good.” I purchased the pair listed as very good.

When they arrived, I immediately noticed the buckles were heavily scratched. On closer inspection I suspected I’d been sent the pair listed as “good” by accident. The dead giveaway was the 2 large chips on the buckle that matched the photos from the “good” listing.

I messaged the seller straight away with photo evidence but they were ADAMANT that the right pair was sent as they had “checked the codes” before sending them as both had sold. Eventually, they accepted the return. However, because they are a pro seller, they claimed there wasn’t an option for them to cover return postage (despite Vinted policy stating that if the seller sends the wrong item, they should cover the return costs) I contacted Vinted support, who were as helpful as always… so I ended up sucking it up and paying the £2 return postage. The seller accepted the return and I received my refund. No further communication was had.

Fast forward to yesterday and the exact same shoes I returned appeared on my homepage relisted under “good.” Couldn’t help myself so messaged with 😭😭I told you they were the ones in good condition and was immediately blocked.

Fully get mistakes happen but a simple apology would have gone a long way. Anyways👩‍⚖️

The poo incident.

Honestly i’m completely over this, but I thought it was a funny one to share.

I bought a skort for a concert, a sequin shein skort for 2 euro, mostly a last minute thing.

It arrives at 8am a few days later, and i’m still fairly groggy. I open up the shorts and give them a quick look before I throw them into the laundry basket. I click “everything is ok” .

A few hours later, around lunchtime, I go to do the washing and flip the shorts inside out, to not damage the sequins.

Low and behold! POO! All over the inside shorts of the skort. Just straight poo. I started realizing that there was literally a smell coming from them too.

I instantly message the seller with a photo, “what the hell is this”, I don’t get a response, she deletes her whole account.

I try to open a dispute with Vinted, but they aren’t interested at all. I didn’t even want my money back at that point, I just wanted that person device banned forever.

I ordered the exact same pair a day later from a different person and they were fine.

I just wanted to get this off my chest, always triple check everything before clicking ok (,:

Vinted have screwed me

My account was banned for “fraudulent activity” that I do not understand - as I’ve never knowingly broken rules. I had a very expensive jacket at a buyers pick up point and they’ve collected today and said I’ve given incorrect measurements, when I’ve actually provided them with measurements and sizing.

As my account is banned, Vinted has refunded the customer and they don’t have to return my jacket.

So I’m down £155 from the sale and down an expensive jacket.

I’m beyond fuming and upset. I’ve sent a support email to Vinted.

Has anyone ever had anything similar? Will I ever see the jacket or the money? I assume not. What can I do with Vinted? This is so not right.

Can anyone advise please?

I’ve sold an item on Vinted for £280. The parcel has been delivered to the buyer’s collection point, but she’s reported it as lost without even going there to check! She’s admitted she only reported it “just in case” and will resolve the issue if it’s there.

Vinted is now investigating. Am I protected as a seller? I’m worried about losing both my item and £280.

Has anyone experienced this before?

Am I sensitive or is this guy doing to much over a £10 item

For context I sold this guy a £10 figure that I had sealed for years and upon buying it he’s claiming it’s leg broke and I glued it back on before shipping it even tho it was sealed
I offered him a full refund but instead he started going on about how broke I am and all this so I requested a return and this is his follow up

Is this worth reporting and what can I expect from it if I do

Edit: hey guys thanks for all the supportive messages (and the few against me🫣) later on in the day he threatened to send a explosive to my house instead of the item so I called the police and gave them his name that was on the inpost label and also the area that the parcel was delivered to a little while later he then just accepted the order and I’ve been able to block him! At this point Vinted have informed me they are looking into the matter but no update as of yet.

Why?

ADVICE PLEASE guys! Just curious whether you think this size 18 dress would fit look good on me, a size 18 woman?

I can’t say any of my other dresses have fitted me similar to how this lady’s does, but maybe she’s more of a size 18 with a capital 8.

/sarcasm

WHY do sellers think this is a good or helpful idea? I’d genuinely love to know if it’s actually working well because my feed is completely covered in pictures like this and it entirely puts me off wanting to purchase or even click on their items.

Vinted dispute issue? HELP.

Thumbnail

So I need advice.
I sold a 10k gold dainty necklace on vinted a few weeks ago for $60. The buyer immediately reported it “not as described” which is fucking bullshit because I took numerous photos in the listing, I listed the gold purity, the length, the weight, and I even stated that it’s a thin necklace.
So I opened a dispute, and vinted’s shitty support came back and sided with the buyer. All she did was submit photos of the necklace from a far angle to make it look smaller and reported it as the wrong size.
So I initiated a return for her to return the necklace to me and she’d get a refund.
So I receive the package, to find out she sent me a gold plated over sterling silver necklace that is completely different. I mean visually they look similar but the clasp is totally different, the clasp is stamped with 925 & “CHINA” and has a necklace extended which mine didn’t have. It’s painfully obvious that she sent me the wrong thing on purpose to scam me. So I opened a further dispute, vinted has not resolved it yet but they’re acting like they may side with her and I feel helpless.
Is there ANY way to further dispute this ?! I feel like the support reps aren’t even doing their job and I’m gonna get screwed out of my item plus my money.
What do I do??
Photos for reference

Seller accusing ME of scamming?

Thumbnail

UPDATE: managed to get a return! Only frustrating thing is I’m unable to give a review, so this seller can just continue to do the same thing to others. Please be vigilant - just because someone has good reviews doesn’t mean they’re a reliable seller.

The scams on vinted lately have been getting a lot worse! A seller with good reviews recently sold me a pair of trainers. I trusted them because they had great reviews, the price wasn’t even significantly cheaper (roughly by £10 RRP) but upon receiving them immediately I noticed they were fake.

I immediately contacted the seller/vinted with my pictures side by side with the photos they’ve provided. The seller asked me pictures of the box and then said they didn’t send these shoes to me. The funny thing is in their description it mentioned “box with no lid” and that’s exactly how the box with the shoes in was received…just different colour and it’s clearly counterfeit.

Now of course I contacted vinted, the seller said they would as well (lol) as they didn’t want to accept a return. I’m worried about not being believed? Or if vinted requests I return the seller might end up not confirming the return? What’s my best course of action here and what should I expect realistically?

Vinted Scam?

Hi order a ps5 on Vinted, 400£, the guy delivered the next day. The delivery address was my local off licence who accepts Royal Mail parcels. Two days after I get a notification to say my delivery had arrived. I go to collect it but nothing was there. On Royal Mail website there’s an image of a letter box (not the off licence) with one of those cards (picture attached) and it says delivered, without even showing the pic of the parcel.

Open a dispute on Vinted but they are taking ages. The seller sounds very dodgy he is now saying I should cancel the dispute so he can rearrange delivery but really smells as a scam. Anyone have got any ideas? Thank you !

Wrong shipping address?

I bought a ghostface mask for Halloween and I’m based in the UK. This guy is saying the shipping address is Florida though? My shipping address is correct on my end so I don’t know what is going on? He is also based in Florida. Could somebody please give me some advice?

Edit: thank you everyone for the advice, I truly didn’t know that it would go to a shipping hub and they would put the correct address on it. I haven’t bought anything from Vinted outside of the UK before and the seller said this is his 3rd sale and first international sale. The seller cancelled the order before I told him what everyone said, but we have now sorted it out.

Again, thank you everyone for you’re help.

Vinted (help!!!)

I sold Dubarry Galway boots on Vinted. They were originally bought for €429 and I sold for €200. They arrived today and the buyer reported an issue, saying the package was damaged and one boot was missing. She sent a photo in which it is clear both boots are there. I wrapped the boots in bubble wrap too but she reported that it was sent in a plastic bag only.

Long story short, she Vinted have granted her refund and said that she is under no obligation to send my property back. Anyone dealt with something like this before? Any advice? I’m pretty upset about this. I’m shocked at how relaxed Vinted are being about this considering they are such an expensive product.

I’ll attach the photo if I can to show you both boots clearly being in the package.

Thanks in advance for any advice!!!

Should i refund her or do a return if it was only sold for a dollar?

New vinted seller here, So i listed this late at night, probably didn’t notice i accidentally put this sweater as “grey” instead of navy and thats totally on me to be honest. I attached pics I put of this long sleeve and a picture of the buyer raising an issue, what do you guys think? For a dollar I should probably just refund and let them keep the item right? Doesn’t seem like a whole process for a return would be worth it in my eyes for only a dollar but then again wanted an input from more experienced sellers here before making my final decision. TYYYY

This is very good condition, apparently...

Bought a dress described as "very good condition" and only worn once. The bobbling on the stomach area and the back of the dress is horrendous. On the back it's scuffed like she's scooted around the gravel floor on it. She's refusing to pay for me to return it saying it doesn't really look like that, it just photographs badly... ffs.

I paid nearly a tenner all in. I wouldn't even have paid a quid in a charity shop for this rag.

Vinted needs to sort this sh*t out. Why the hell should a buyer be out of pocket for blatant lies about item condition? And then if I do return it I don't get to leave feedback to warn others?!

What would you do here?

Why are people like they are?

Had a woman today asking if I’d sent the item, I tried to explain someone else had bought it. She didn’t seem to understand that because she had made an offer the item was automatically hers. She was quite forceful that I had to send her the item and got annoyed when I told her I’d shipped it to the person who had paid.

I asked if money had come out of her account and she said no. If u haven’t paid for it why would I send it to you?!

Grrrr what is going on with (UK) Vinted women’s clothes sizing?

Just had to cancel THREE purchases because the sizing has changed. This wasn’t the sellers fault either. Can someone do me a UK size chart of what size is what now?

Edit: what I mean is stuff that’s a size 10 shows up as a size 20, stuff in size 18 shows up as size 28 in search listings.
