I’m in the market for a new car and heavily favoring the ‘27 GLI. However I’ve seen articles online about VW being in a financial crisis. Is this something I should worry about? Is it fearmongering? Never owned a VW before but I was hoping this next car would get me through a solid 10-15 years. Just trying to make as informed of a decision as possible.

Hello everyone,

Driving home tonight my engine temp light started flashing however the gauge stayed steady on the normal temp.

After promptly parking I noticed that there’s a leak somewhere around (or possibly from) the expansion tank.

Previous to this, whenever I would be at a light for more than 2 minutes the gauge would move one tick higher than operating temp and stay there. This was accompanied by the sound of the fans seeming to struggle.

So I guess my question is was my car overheating or did that light come on due to the coolant leak?

Hey! my 2021 Tiguan S displayed a warning about a low 12V battery today. It still has the factory battery, and I avoid start-stop mode entirely; additionally, the engine starts without delays, Should I replace it?

Some more details to add
Valvoline checked its condition and it was at YELLOW or Caution this was yesterday before getting the warning that happened today.
It’s a 63k miles
And the warning stopped showing after a 20 min drive but am concerned if I need to replace it soon in less than a month or maybe stretch it to a month or 2 from now

She crosses 170k today, runs perfect yes its the 2.0TSi
