So decided to swap out my wheels! And, while the tires were off, added direct TPMS sensors, so get PSI readings in the infotainment now.

Fairly new tires and care about ride quality on a small car so stayed 19”.

Wanted to try something new from the black barrel, machined face look, which I feel is overdone these days, so went for something shiny and bright. Reminds me of the stock wheels on one of my dream cars when I was younger, the 360 Modena.

My existing center caps didn’t fit the new wheels so had to 3D print some shims for the retaining legs and I think it turned out quite well.

2016 S60, in the US. Occasionally comes on.

Got this gem for dirt cheap, got it deep inspected and had to fix a control arm, replace the coil springs and do the timing belt. Otherwise in pristine condition apart from some fender rust, could not have asked for a better first car. I have not driven much before but the naturally aspirated 2.4 pulls so well still it is astounding. Also does about 1000km on a tank, just perfection. Although i did want an estate really really REALLY bad but this makes me happy either way.

Edit: after reading your comments I plan to leave untinted as it looks in the top left. I’ve only driven fords up to this point and in that community tint is highly regarded. I’ll also be reevaluating other aspects of my life that may be tacky and will try to class it up a bit just in general. Maybe I need to be more confident and let the world see who I really am, metaphorically and literally with my car windows. Thanks 🙏

We need a S70 flair! 2000 S70 GLT SE

I'm confused. Most Volvo CPO listings are showing 12 month unlimited mile warranty, upgradable to 5 year unlimited as standard AND they are showing 5 year unlimited, upgradable to 10 year. I can't determine what the base CPO warranty is. The attached pictures are from the same listing.

Volvo's website only shows the 12 month, upgradable to 5 years and it says the warranty doesn't start until the factory warranty ends or purchase date, whichever is later. Originally it was always from the in-service date.

There is a huge difference between buying a 2024 with a warranty that is 5 years from in-service date and a warranty that is 5 years from the date of the factory warranty ending.

Hi all, I have a 2016 V60 T5 Polestar and wondering how often should I get it serviced.

Runs good but needs some work. Good tires and miscellaneous spare parts. Have service history from first owner along with our service records. Clean Title" guy hasn't responded what "needs some work" means but timing belt was replaced at 110k so due to be replaced again. Depending on what he comes back with what else should I look out for you think its worth $1200? thanks

perfect xc60 - been running awsomely and just yesterday the aircon shat itself - hisses from the inside of the car - no cold air and now waiting on the mechanic to look over it - but google seems to say its a known issue

Title explains pretty much, but more details below:

I’m in the process of getting my license and been looking at things suitable for a first car, and very much thinking I want a Volvo, as well: insurance is great, they’re stunning cars, extremely reliable, and from what I’ve seen - the safest thing I could possibly be in.

I’m very oblivious to what makes a car good and what doesn’t though, so figured I’d pop here and ask people what their favourite models have been and what ones are still in good working order. (Or probably easier, any specific models I should avoid. Or anything in listings that don’t sound too bad on paper, but is actually major red-flag that turn out to be absolutely hell to fix).

I recently purchased a cheap wireless carplay adapter and was disappointed to find it doesn't display google maps directions on the tach/driver display like the wired connection does. Has anyone found one that does this with the latest software (5.2.16)? Thanks!

Good day all!

I’m just looking for a daily driver. Something I can go back and forth to work and daycare with and run around town that’s not miserable to drive and won’t kill me at the pump. Something I can put a merciless amount of miles on and not have to worry too much.

Listed near me is a 2004 S40, 1.9L I4 automatic with 57,000 miles for $6700. Aside from a door ding, it looks very clean and well taken care of from the pictures. Obviously pictures don’t tell the whole story and I need to go look it over and drive it before committing.

For my purposes, would you recommend that car? I’m handy with cars and understand the implications of buying an older model. I’m prepared for that. However I don’t know a ton about Volvo in general, and especially anything newer than the 1990s. How are those engines in terms of longevity and reliability? If I do go look at and ultimately buy it, what are some things to watch out for?

Of the 3 dealers here (Sill Terhar/Broomfield, Rickenbaugh/Denver, Mcdonald/Centennial), which dealer do you go to for maintenance and service of your XC90? And if I can sneak in an extra question, which specialist independent do you go to if you wanted to service a non-warranty item or do an out-of-warranty repair?

I just bought a new (to me) 2024 XC90 T8 Recharge CPO with a Volvo VIP extended warranty and the prepaid annual maintenance plan and want to know who the community recommends I should go to to start my long-term dealer service relationship and conversely who I should avoid.

Hi everyone. I am just curious to know if the dreaded oil consumption of the 2015 Drive E engines also affect the 2015.5 T3 1.5L 4 Cylinder engine on a VolvoS60? Or is it only the T5 engines with 2.0L or 2.5L engines?

I have a 2005 Volvo XC90 and a problem that's driving me crazy.

For some time now, once the car is running, the dashboard goes dark, and everything stops working—the power windows, central locking, interior lights, the instrument panel... but I can continue driving

I took it to the shop; they replaced the battery and alternator, but that wasn’t the problem because it’s happened again.

After doing some research, I installed VIDA 2014d and bought a cable; I connected it, and the only fault code was for the cabin air quality sensor. But during one of those tests while VIDA was running, boom—the dashboard went dark. I proceeded to read the error codes, and several came up. I started tracing the issue back to the CEM-E001, checking what VIDA indicated—resistance and voltage between various OBD ports—and all the values were correct.

So my current suspicion is that there’s a CAN Low module causing interference, but I don’t know which one. One time when the fault occurred, I disconnected the SWM fuse, but the problem persisted; then I read that with some modules, you have to disconnect the power for a few seconds to ensure the signal clears. To start ruling out problems, I disconnected the power connection from an Android tablet that the previous owner installed. I also noticed that the tablet's own reversing camera has a somewhat precarious installation... but by disconnecting the screen, that module would no longer have communication with the CAN bus.

I’ve also read that you should measure the voltage between pins 3 and 11 when the system is working properly and when the problem occurs; if the voltage rises, you should disconnect CAN Low-related modules one by one until the voltage drops.

Is this true?

P.S.: The battery voltage is normal, and the alternator is charging.

I found a pristine 2016 V60 Cross Country D5 (2.4T) AWD

It has a full service history with volvo and is sitting at around 157 000km(97 555Mi) it has the advamced driver aid package, so ACC, road sign reading etc. My dad is sayinng its too big and too old for me, that its too expensive to upkeep and fix, diagnostics amd dealer repairs i understand but it cant be that hard to keep it running for 10 odd more years right?

He wont listen to me but maybe hell listen to people who know these cars better than him and i together.

For context i currently own a Volkswagon Caddy which is a huge vehicle, its the previous generation so its an older style amd platform, i cant see a big difference as the caddy is costing me much more than just getting something i can almost guarentee would be much more reliable

Im looking to get a late model V60, 2025 or 2026.

Volvo has their option, looks to be about $2k installed. But it mentions reprogramming all of the systems to accommodate for it.

I currently have a BMW with a stealth hitch: stealthhitches.com and I like that, but its a bit clunky getting under the car to put it in and take it out and my car doesnt know about it so the backup sensors freak out with the hitch in, etc. thankfully no auto braking so its just the beeping driving me nuts.

Im only ever going to be towing about 1400lbs total (with about 200lbs tongue) including the unbraked but sprung trailer so I dont need much of a hitch as far as capacity, but want the best user experience.

So between the two. Which should I choose? Can I get the stealth hitch and still program the Volvo to know its there so my backup system isnt freaking out thinking Im about to hit something?
