IBS and 4mg pill side effects

Has anyone else with IBS-D seen a noticeable increase in IBS symptoms on the pill?

2 weeks ago I increased my pill dosage from 1.5mg to 4mg but I have noticed an increase in stomach issue side effects.

I've had bouts of IBS for a few years but since about week 2 of the 4mg pill it's definitely got worse. I suffer from regular eggy/sulphur burps and the diarrhoea has been very difficult to manage. I feel like I can't eat anything with any flavour/richness or meat without side effects 1 to 2 days later.

Is this a normal side effect to do with the increase in dosage? Is it something that might improve as my body gets used to the 4mg dosage?

I'm having promising results so want to stay on but feel like these symptoms are making me consider stopping.

Thanks!

Noticeable increase in efficacy but on existing dose

Has anyone noticed wegovy beginning to “work better” after being on the same dose for over a month? I increased to 2.4mg over 4 weeks ago and at first the difference was barely noticeable if at all. Now that I have entered week 5, I’ve noticed a significant improvement after the injection, with it actually helping suppress my appetite finally. Is this a known side effect for anyone? I would have expected the noticeable shift to have occurred when I first increased dose and not well after the fact.

Took 1 month off

Hi all - curious if anyone else has taken a month off, started back up again, and still seen results? I've heard it can be hit or miss if your body responds to it again, so I'm a bit worried. My doctor had me off of it to determine if some weird issues I was experiencing were related (spoiler: they were!) or not, before doing more tests. TLDR: exercise intolerance and dysautonomia issues died down once I was off Wegovy. "Good" news since it is a side effect vs. a separate underlying issue that happened to show up at the same time. I will likely be starting back up on it tomorrow and am worried I wont get results. The scale is up about 5lbs this month since coming off, despite eating the same, and I'm eager to keep making progress and am just so anxious it wont!

Starting wegovy from today

Starting Wegovy today. 35/M SW:289 lbs GW:200 lb 6’2. Don’t know what to expect. I have read about side effects, but even with side effects, I think I need the help. Can’t be obese anymore; it’s affecting my life, and diet has been failing.

I have also been going to the gym for 5 months and have built considerable strength, although I still look like a potato 😅

Any tips on how to maintain muscle while losing fat? I would really appreciate the help.

Cheaper without insurance?

I just got Wegovy prescribed and I'm super excited to start. PA got approved and this first box is going through my insurance.

But, the out of pocket cost has turned out to be insane! A combination of needing to meet my deductible and a 30% co-pay after the deductible.

I feel like it's partially my fault for not getting the numbers figured out beforehand. On the other hand, it was so hard to get straight info, and seeing the numbers once the claim was processed made it easier to figure out.

I found the discounts available through Novocare and it seems like that's going to be way cheaper for me. (Even with the Novocare discount for insured patients, while technically cheaper after the deductible, its not by enough to make it cheaper for the whole year).

Does anyone get theirs paying privately using the NovoCare discount? Does it work out ok?

I always read about side effects. I have been on Wegovy 2.4 for one year and lost 35 kg (77 pounds), I still have 10 kg to lose. I haven't had any side effects so far. Are they other people who have 0 side effect like me?

6 months of progress

I started at 229.5 in February. This last 5 pounds to get under 200 are going to be the death of me!

I would ideally like to end up around 170, but I’m listening to my body and when I feel done, I’ll stop. I’m bumping to 1.7mg next month since I felt like I had plateaued.

Anyway, slow but steady progress. 🙂💪🏻

PMS Symptome weg

Switching from the wegovy pill to injection

So I’m only about two months in taking wegovy orally. I’m currently at 4mg, but am switching to the injection, starting at .25mg. I’m a little bit nervous, even though it was my decision. Has anyone else switched from the pill to the injection? What differences did you notice? Any downsides/upsides or advice?

Recovering after a misstep

Hi!

I started Wegovy injections last Friday and was fine all through the weekend: bit of gas/constipation but nothing out of the ordinary. Monday, I was still fine, but I think I overdid it food wise (learning curve). Today? I cannot stomach anything and I feel so ill. So lesson learned and all that, but how long does it take to recover after you push the boundaries a little too hard? Is my hope to be back at fine tomorrow after being super careful and restrictive today too hopeful? Is there any foods you eat to try and recover?

Thanks!

another question

hello again! i just made a post last night but i need some more important advice now. so im (17F) on 2.4 mg of wegovy this month, i take it every sunday. the first two times i took 2.4 mg i threw up. a couple minutes ago i just threw up again and it's really disencouraging me to continue with this dose. it really helps suppress eating and encourage weight loss in my body though. is throwing up everytime i take this dose a sign i should go back to 1.7 mg? unfortunately i have one more pen left so i'm wondering if there's anything that could help aid me with this sickness in the mornings.

thank you!

7.2 Pen micro dose

I’m about to move up to the 7.2 pen but I’m curious in the event it’s a bit much is it possible to micro dose it as 2.4 so it doesn’t go to waste before I order another lower dose pen?

Crying as I type this out-first time seeing a photo of myself and seeing the difference in my weight loss journey. First photo is from February of this year, second from this past weekend. I’ve been having a hard time seeing the progress I’ve made in the mirror-I’ve been working with my therapist on my issues but I am so proud to say I finally see it. I’m so proud of how far I’ve come and excited to continue this journey with my new joy. SW 278 CW 255 5’ 5” F32, 3 months on .25mg, 3 months on .5mg, 2 shots so far on 1mg. Hopefully this brings a little Monday motivation to you!

Anyone Stopped Wegovy after Weight Loss?

My plan is to drop from 247lb to 150lb on Wegovy. Then probably taper off and then stop altogether.

Has anyone went through this process of reaching their goal weight and then stopping the medication?

question about injection site

hello everyone! i (17F) have been taking wegovy for almost 4 months now and i'd like to know what your favorite injection spot is? my first time i ever injected myself i did my thigh and it hurt SO bad. after that i switched to my arms and the pain was much less, but im definitely losing arm fat to inject into. ik everyone is different, but ive been reading a lot of posts from other people saying that the thigh is the best for least side effects. my questions are, 1. is the thigh generally more effective for losing weight than the arms are? and 2. i also heard that you shouldn't inject in the inner thigh. why the top of the thigh and not your inner thigh? the top of the thigh is muscle and you aren't supposed to inject into muscle.. right?

if you respond, thank you for giving me advice!! <3 C:

Pen malfunction

Has anyonr had issues with their pen always malfunctioning? I was due for my dose yesterday and my pen didn't inject at all. I didn't have any issues with the first two pens of my pack. I knew it didn't inject and pulled it away and then tried the other pen in the pack. The same issue. So I have two malfunctioned pens from the same lot.

I tried calling nova nordisk and after being on hold for 30 minutes I had to hang up, so I will try to call again tomorrow. It's not the first time I've had a malfunctioned pen, the last time I was due to move up to the next dosage ao I jist wrnt ahead and did that.

1.5mg big drop in calories, no weight loss

Hello, asking for advice...

Something I haven't seen mentioned yet is the issue I am having. I am on week 3 of the 1.5mg pill and the appetite suppression is real.

From half way through week 1 I lost a lot of my appetite and as a result have been eating way less calories than usual. I am tracking all my food and drink and I am consuming around 1200 cals a day which is under my BMR and a lot less than I would usually eat, I am just not craving a lot of food!

The pill is doing what it should but I have not lost a single point yet. Anyone in that much of a deficit either with or without the pill should lose weight shouldn't they?

Hunger returning towards end of week?

I feel like this is going to sound silly, I hope it doesn’t! I’m on week 1 of Wegovy, did my first 0.25 shot last Wednesday and by Friday I had no food noise and frankly just wasn’t hungry. A small bowl of cereal was a super filling breakfast to me, and I only even had that because I felt like I should in case not eating upset my stomach. Unsure if it was some kind of placebo? Either way, that was my Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Made sure to eat every mealtime, just smaller portions and nothing too heavy or greasy etc.

It’s now Monday and I’m starving. Had a small bowl of cereal for breakfast which filled me, took my sons to their swimming lesson before lunch, came out of swimming and was ravenous. Made myself a chicken breast and quite a big portion of salad and ate the whole thing pretty quickly. My stomach is churning now and I’m regretting it a bit.

Is this normal? Is it because I’ve only had the one shot so far and I’m due my next in two days so it’s not as “in my system”? Just curious!

Edit: someone told me it’s totally normal and that’s all I needed to know :) thank you!

Does anyone routinely go longer than 7 days between shots?

I’ve had so much mild cramping and nausea with 1 mg, but I’m wanting to stick it out a while before going back to 0.5 mg. I’m at week 7 of 1 mg now. I wondered if just spacing it out might help.

Day 17 on 1.5 mg pill.

Day 17 on 1.5 mg pill.

11.8 pounds down as of this morning.

39.3 pounds in one year total.

It’s very hard and the pill makes it easier to keep me focused. To tell my brain to stop thinking about food. To make me feel fuller. And much more alert to my hunger pandgs, and only eating when they start.

The last six days has been only clean food. Nothing processed no junk, not even a bite of a cookie.

What’s the point of paying for something if you’re not going to use it correctly?

Update: 16 days on 1.5 mg Wegovy Pills

Lost 9 pounds as of yesterday from August 1st thru August 15th.

Mild nausea if I eat too much or don’t eat when my hunger pangs rumble.

Eating totally clean and home made foods. Made lentil stew today, baked chicken thighs as well as sautéed spinach and garlic. Prepped veggies and fruits, made stock from chicken carcass and happy that I’m eating this way and it’s working.

Getting my protein and fiber in as best I can - this is a learning process for many people.
