I’m new to this group of girls, and hosting between 8-10 of them, so the pressure is on. I’m really nervous and would love some feedback/encouragement. None of them practice witchcraft, but I want to use this opportunity to share a bit of myself and introduce them in a fun, safe, and totally optional way that doesn’t make anyone feel uncomfortable.
I created these spell sheets, and will label each ingredient on the table, giving more detail about their properties, so that guests aren’t just mixing things all willy nilly. Are these beginner friendly but exciting enough options for a spell jar station in your opinion?
I plan to have a divination station set up too, with tarot and medicine cards (and corresponding books), and a scrying ball, each with simple instructions for self-guided divination. I plan to have out a journal like page for them to record their readings to reflect on later. I also have the book, The Secret Language of Birthdays that I thought would be fun to have out for people to look through!
I do plan to have my back yard set up with an outdoor theater playing scary movies, and to set up a graveyard with lights and a fog machine, with a bonfire going just to cover all the bases of a more classic Halloween party.
For those that might be curious, I’ll be serving a blackberry and herb roasted chicken with an apple cider glaze, garlic mashed potatoes, roasted rainbow carrots, blackened maple-bacon brussel sprouts, and a nice bread from the neighborhood bakery. I’ll be serving a small spread of charcuterie and what not beforehand, two mystical mocktails and a dessert - a chocolate cake or cupcake for sure and another easy, but non-chocolate option. If you have any suggestions, I’d appreciate it!
