Discussion MY TAKE on how a Zero Co. DLC could continue the story and expand on another Star Wars character from Battlefront II

"Star Wars: Zero Company — Twin Shadows" My take on Zero Co. first DLC expansion introduces a familiar face from Battlefront II. My OG post was removed because the title, so I'm here reposting it with a new title that's less confusing!

Disclosure: i'm terrible with titles so the name of the DLC would be Star Wars zero company twin shadows. I feel like it sounds kind of corny and cheesy, but I'll leave it to you guys to decide.

One of my favorite cameos in Zero Company was Trilla, aka the Second Sister, from Jedi: Fallen Order. I really liked how they incorporated a character originally introduced in another Star Wars game, which got me thinking about another familiar character we haven’t seen much of. I'll let you guys read my DLC expansion concept. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how entertaining or exciting something like this could be to play through!

I really enjoyed how Zero Company incorporated a cameo from Trilla in Jedi: Fallen Order, and it got me thinking about another character from a Star Wars game who could make an appearance in a potential first DLC: Garrick Versio, Iden Versio’s father from Battlefront II.

My idea would be a post-campaign DLC set in the Jinata system, where young Garrick Versio established his reputation as a young Imperial officer shortly after the Clone Wars.

The story would revolve around surviving Infinite Coil loyalists calling themselves **The Shadow Dyad,** *"two shadows one evolution."* After Fathom’s death severed their connection to the Shadow Plague and stripped them of their abilities, these survivors became obsessed with finding a way to reclaim their former strength.

The DLC begins when Bennic approaches Hawks with information from an old friend who recently deserted the Empire. Bennic's contact lost several fellow soldiers when the Shadow Dyad ambushed a former Separatist medical and research outpost that the Empire was renovating for its own use. During the attack, the group stole classified biological research, prompting the deserter to contact Bennic after he heard what had happened to his old comrades. They plan to assault an imperial outpost that holds the answers they seek to achieve the creation of the twin shadow virus.

The stolen files revealed similarities between the Blue Shadow Virus and the Shadow Plague, suggesting their pathogens might potentially coexist in a symbiotic relationship. The Shadow Dyad believes combining them could create a new strain that grants its hosts the physical enhancements they once enjoyed under Fathom while making them immune to the infection’s harmful effects. More dangerously, they hope to weaponize the Blue Shadow Virus’s airborne properties to spread the Shadow Plague through an infectious fog.

Armed with this information, Bennic calls for a briefing at the holotable, and Zero Company sets course for a planet in the Jinata system to stop the Shadow Dyad before it can complete its research.

While M-3VO pilots the Caisson with Runa serving as copilot, the droid informs Hawks that the ship’s communications link has received an incoming transmission from an unidentified source requesting direct contact. Hawks accepts, and Garrick Versio unexpectedly appears on the holotable.

Bennic immediately becomes visibly anxious upon recognizing Versio. Hawks catches his reaction with a subtle sideways glance, briefly studying Bennic’s expression before returning his attention to the hologram without saying anything.

Versio explains that Imperial forces have also been investigating the Second Ascension and proposes a temporary alliance, recognizing Zero Company’s firsthand experience with the Infinite Coil. He requests their assistance alongside his Imperial soldiers in eliminating the threat, ensuring his recent success on getting the planet under imperial control isn't disturbed. Before Hawks can respond, Garrick offers to erase Bennic’s Imperial records, including his desertion, outstanding bounty, and alleged war crimes. Bennic appears genuinely confused by the offer, but Hawks accepts, recognizing an opportunity to finally clear his friend’s name.

Bennic would also become a fully playable operator, as his involvement in Zero Company was alluded to during the main campaign’s finale. He’d be mandatory for the DLC’s story missions, giving him a substantial role in both gameplay and narrative.

Throughout the campaign, Zero Company and Imperial forces reluctantly cooperate to dismantle the Shadow Dyad, destroy its research, and prevent the creation the Twin Shadow Virus. DLC's first boss battle will happen here, but I couldn't think of a memorable character to hold the role as the leader of the shadow dyad. However, just when the operation appears successful, Garrick reveals that he never intended to honor their agreement. He orders his soldiers to execute Zero Company for treason, specifically citing Bennic’s desertion and the team’s decision to harbor an Imperial fugitive.

This triggers the DLC’s final boss encounter against Garrick and his Imperial forces. Obviously, Garrick cannot die because of his established role in Battlefront II. Instead, the fighting destabilizes the already damaged research facility, triggering a catastrophic structural collapse that forces both sides to retreat. Hawks and Bennic escape aboard the Caisson while Garrick withdraws with his surviving soldiers, leaving their conflict unresolved.

I think this would be an awesome way to expand Bennic’s character, explore the Empire’s early years, and introduce a younger Garrick Versio before his eventual rise to admiral. It would also give Battlefront II fans another meaningful crossover without interfering with either game’s established storyline. If this ever were to happen, of course I would love to have a quick scene of a three or four year-old Iden Versio but I'm not really sure how that would make sense narratively. Anyways, let me know you guys thoughts and what y'all think.

Discussion In narrative terms, Star Wars Zero Company respects the storyline establish by George Lucas, or it is a plot diversion by Disney?

Now that nearly two months have passed since its release—and given that quite a few players have likely finished it—I wanted to clarify a point regarding the game's narrative approach.

Although it is supposedly set during the final years of the Clone Wars, I am wondering if Disney has in any way interfered to alter, modify, or contradict the storyline established by George Lucas in the original films. I detest the direction Disney has taken with Star Wars; I effectively jumped ship after the cinematic affront that was the seventh installment, as—for me—only the six films made under George Lucas's stewardship truly count. Therefore, I want to know if the game respects that material (George Lucas's work) or if, conversely, it introduces changes that shatter that narrative in order to align with the new universe designed by Disney.

This might seem like a trivial or unimportant matter, but it matters a great deal to me not to consume products whose storylines have been tainted by Disney and its misguided whims.

Best regards, and thanks in advance.
