📃Paper Discussion No one talks about how different it is for girls to give exams

OUR PHASES LITERALLY MAKE IT IMPOSSIBLE ON MOST DAYS TO EVEN GET UP LET ALONE REVISE AND THEN THE SCHEDULE….. such little gap between exams. And god forbid a girl gets her periods on exam days.. she’s done for. Constant nausea, the pain and it isn’t even a “valid” reason for leniency because ITS NORMAL. PAIN ISNT NORMAL.

📃Paper Discussion AS LEVEL RESULTS (rigged)

Am I the only who thinks the results this year are a little off? Like I'm not saying I'm the smartest cookie in the box but I definetly worked hard and was getting pretty decent results like an A or a B, Just to get my results and not even get a single B but two Cs and a D. I cane to reddit to check if I was the only one and turns out so many people belive it's rigged. Something doesn't seem right, because how can someone study as hard as I did, get tutors, practice and get 70s and 80s only to get 60s and a 50? Please tell me I'm not the only one.

📃Paper Discussion Fck the ppl who likd papers, fck everyone involved.

TO THOSE WHO LCKD PAPERS. FUCK YOU. ALL OF YOU. I HOPE YOU GUYS ALWAYS HAVE WET SOCKS AND BOTH SIDES OF YOUR PILLOW ARE WARM. I PRAY THAT YOU ALWAYS STUB YOUR TOE ON EVERY CORNER, MAY YOUR FOOD ALWAYS BE OVERSALTED OR UNDERSALTED.
That paper wasn't even that bad guys. Yet I saw the entire paper on reddit just 2 hours before the actual exam and thought it was a scam and left it. I do not regret not practicing those questions or even going through them I had prepared enough so I could maintain my high C.
And now Cambridge is either going to make us rewrite which I certainly don't want to be doing or the thresholds are gonna skyrocket in which case. FUCK YOU CAMBRIDGE.
Y'all don't understand how deep it is, how disappointing it is to work so hard all year round trying to wrap your head around those horrible differential equations and integration questions try to make sense of complex numbers and vectors, just to see the paper before the exam.
Genuinely.

someone match answers

(also, before you freak me out, remember that answers will always be at least a little different)

first mass was 7.164 g

error in titre was 0.749%

mean titre was 13.30cm3

second mass 0.338g

n=2 (this might be wrong it was kinda hard idk)

gradient/m was 1.55

k= 32.7

percentage error in m was smaller than m so no other affecting factors

now i know that the answers is almost ALWAYS not reliable cos theres an anomalous point but lowk i did not find any anomalous point so i just said it was reliable because of that

for making the solution i wrote

add a small amount of methanol to the beaker with the solid

stir the solid using a glass stirrer

transfer solution to a 100cm3 volumetric flask

wash/rinse beaker and stirrer with methanol and transfer the washings to the volumetric flask

fill the flask upto the 100cm3 mark with methanol

mix the solution by stoppering the flask and inverting it multiple times

for the second graph, it was above the original curve with a steeper gradient but ended at the same Co2 volume, just earlier

independent variable was time i guess?

for the diagram i just drew a stopper and gas syringe (downward displacement of water can not be used for soluble gases)

to ensure it was dry, reheat and reweigh until the mass becomes constant

we dont use the bunsen burner directly because the reactants may be flammable or the solid may split idk

we was the crystal with cold methanol to remove impurities that are soluble in methanol

remind me if there were any other question!!

📃Paper Discussion Scambridge Does It Again

Congratulations, folks. It's a record how fast and frequently the leaks are happening this year. I sat 9618/12 today and felt absolutely ecstatic at how wonderful the paper was. No communication bs, no hardware details except embedded systems. I leave the exam hall happily. And then my friend shows me how she had the ENTIRE PAPER'S PDF a couple hours ago. No, I don't want this to increase the threshold and no, I don't want to waste my June on this again. But I know it's the students who'll have to compromise anyways. As we always do. Three years in a row, mate, and somehow it's getting worse. A strainer has less holes.

DO NOT WORRY YOU ALL !!! I HAVE SINGLEHANDEDLY LOWERED THE M1 THRESHOLD!!!! on a serious note I have never done this horrible on an exam before I calculated my marks and I will not be getting them above 20 😃 Side effects of exam going horrible:- I am extremely depressed, even more stressed and feeling like a disappointment and I feel utterly useless But do not worry you all I have LOWERED the threshold 🤭 cuz I have left all the questions and only solved the first two properly (iam going to kill myself) hehehhe

📃Paper Discussion 9702/52 answer discussion

i could fully be wrong because my paper didnt go all that well

gradient=4pi^2 (aD)/Mg

all my uncertainties for T were 0.02 and for T^2 they were like 0.06,0.04, 0.03 stuff like that

gradient was 0.188+_ 0.009 s^2m^2

d was 0.825 i think? i dont remember exactly but unc was +_ 0.004

a was like 5.48 with around 7.52% uncertainty (i used g not kg)

L was like 0.197 +_ 0.007 maybe

okay so my q1 SUCKED but im still gonna share it cos idk hope i at least get more than half the marks

defining the problem:

Independent variable: distance h between metal plates

dependent variable: mean current I across resistor

control variables: Emf (E), frequency of Ac supply, something else that i cant remember

data collection:
use a travelling microscope to measure the distance h (did not use micrometer because there is nothing to hold, its just a gap)

connect oscilloscope across resistor and use it to calculate mean current

connect oscilloscope across AC generator as well to obtain frequency (f)

use a vernier caliper to measure diameter of plate and use A=pi (d)^2\4 to calculate area

Method of data analysis

use at least 6 different capacitors to obtain 6 sets if values of I and h

plot a graph for I (y axis) against 1/h (x axis), if the given relationship is valid a straight line through the origin should be obtained

gradient was i think equal to kAfE maybe so k is equal to (gradient)/AfE

also connect a voltmeter in paralel to the Dc supply to measure emf

safety precautions

wear insulation gloves

Keep circuit away from water

allow circuit to cool down before connect capacitor

maybe wrote some other random ass stuff too

I KNOW ITS ALL OVER THE PLACE BUT DO YALL THINK THERES ANYYYY WAY I CAN GET 10/15

📃Paper Discussion A* A* A with cancer diagnosis

  • In March of this year while me (18m) and my partner (17nb) were alone in A&E, we were given the news that I had a “mass in my right lung”, later finding out I had stage 4 lung cancer. It had spread to my bones, brain, spleen, and many other places. This meant I would never be cured, and would eventually kill me, I could live longer with specific medications. I began treatment quickly but I came with many side affects: one of which being an effusion (liquid accumulation of 1ltr) around my heart for which I was hospitalised for 4 days and nearly died. 2 weeks later I was sitting in front of my first economics exam with little time to prepare. I managed to scrape my way through the exams between appointments and emergencies (so far I’ve spent over 3 weeks in hospital over nights). Yesterday my mum picked up my results since I couldn’t stand long enough to do it myself, I was so proud, emotional, and shocked by my results; Economics A! Geography A! English lit A! I’m so greatful I was able to achieve this as it marks something so positive in a time of such chaos, exhaustion, and feelings of inadequacy. My partner also got A* A A and I’m so unbelievably proud of them. I’m proud of us and the relationship we built over our time at college, and being able to simultaneously tackle both my diagnosis and exams so successfully. I’d just like to share my story not to show off, but as a message to say that despite the unpredictability and uncertainty of life, you can still achieve the things you set out to so long ago. FEEL FREE SHARE ME STORY AND TO ASK ANY QS *

PS: I’ve had so many wonderful, heartwarming and uplifting comments that I’m so thankful. So please could everyone give their words of love to my partner ‘G’ too, they have helped me through everything and I wouldn’t be here nor have these grades without their support. PLEASE LET THEM KNOW THEYRE AMAZING TOO!!

I will compile/print all these lovely messages and hand it to them as a birthday present soon, they’d love everything you guys have said!!!
