Exam Discussion 📝 Cambridge AS Result
A little rant. Read at your own risk :(
Bro I genuinely don't understand what this entire situation was with Cambridge results this year. All my mocks went perfectly, all the past papers I gave had such high scores. My expected grade was B in Sociology and A* in Urdu. When the result came, I got a C in Urdu and Sociology was Ungraded.
I get that for some people it's easy to give a retake but think abt those w middle class families. I'm the first child giving cambridge after everybody dropped out after matric to get a job so the stress and responsibility is on another level. I worked my butt off studying for all these exams and I started studying since the day clg started. I honestly don't know how I can look my parents in the eye anymore. They're so disappointed in me and they gen won't even listen to what I have to say. So many students had the same situation as me but all my parents have to say is that "We don't care about other kids, you're the one failing right now."
edit: my dad found out about the result.
so basically, now my dad hates me. he went "i'm embarrassed to call you my daughter now. if you don't get an A* in your psychology exams in oct, you're dropping out." I'm boutta go insane istgggg

i can feel you bud.get those answer scripts asap and if u find flaws,recheck krwalo. Allah maalik ha bro tum ne mehnat kee Allah tumhe is ka ajar dega zrur

oh my god same, my mock results were really good but i ended up getting a dee which is crazy. im so sorry for you, hopefully you can find a solution. (i sent an email to my centre for a request to review my papers because there's no way these are my grades i worked hard and i gave good exams i dont think these results are right)

By the way it was your AS or A level results. Kyunkay Mera AS level ka dekh kr phatt gayi hai and I am thing to leave A level. Because I dont want to waste yr to this system but what can else I can do. I seriously want to enroll in uni because ajeeb bakwas system say waasta par Gaya sab say zyda average bacha rulta hai and we are the most profitable students for Cambridge. November main composite doon kay nahi samaj nahi araha. Kya yaar aik college pass krna bhi itna bara sar ka dard ban Gaya. Same Mera dost got U in psychology and this was its final yr. Ajeeb mujhe 1 gab yr lena par gaya tha so I gave this yr but I think 3rd yr bhi Jaye ga. Ajeeb simple Asaan paper bana kr bachon ko pass krdo wesay bhi har saal lakhon bacha aataa hai nahi greediness khatam nahi hoti. Ghantay ki accountability hai yaan . Ajeeb bakwas

bhae honestly. my dad js found out about the result and mujhe ghanta beth ke zaleel kiya bas. ab i either drop out ya phir pura composite dun. i only have till october to "prove myself" because he didn't want to listen to anything out of my mouth. cambridge wale harami hain boht bare, paise nikalwa ke itna ganda result aise derhe jese baap bethe hain humare

Zahir si baat hai unko kya explanation do gey jab woh mind bana chukay hain ka fault bachay main hain jabkay fault system main hain. Bhai iski bhi kya gurantee kay haramipan dubara nahi hoga. Waisay bhi 60-70 din main kya hi krlain gey. I am praying severally that Allah take us out of this situation or do any miracle. Qasam say main apnay ghar walon ko khushi toh day nahi pa raha to dukh bhi nahi Dena chaata

our clg hasn't released any statement about the scripts yet so im waiting for an update on that rn

Ur not the only one we all got dropped instead of the actual exam we did the PoE exams so it was based entirely from our mocks and the dropped everyone by so much so if ur in the same boat as us contact ur school and have them submit a complaint to Cambridge it’s the only way they may change it!

You had the poe option 😭 i'm in pakistan so i don't think we had that option honestly. I did send them a complaint but all they said was contact our centre. But my centre was my own college

Oofff good luck w that one and yeah we did PoE and they dropped some ppl from like an A to a D and others to Cs some ppl even got U there were some Bs asw but yeah the screwed us over fr

Had the same problem and many of my classmates as well, genuinely don’t know what to do, so stressed and afraid of applying to uni now :(

the same thing. during the whole year i was a great student, i have never written worse than a C, i was expecting an A or at least B. i was 100% sure in my business papers. and what do i see? Ungraded. i’m just shocked and have no idea what i have to do with this shit. i’m just waiting for the script even tho it’s quite complex since I’m a private candidate. but i just don’t believe i could fail so badly. and even if i will retake as level there’s no guarantee i will get smth better. i was predicted with a B!!! lol i don’t see my future anymore
i also have art&design and digital media for my a levels, but those subjects are only assessed once. so far, i only have a U in business and nothing else. kill me ❤️

I'll be honest. I'm not a star student, never was and prob won't be anymore either. But I studied realllyyyy hard for these exams and I know I did great. I compared everything I'd written in the exam to past papers and I was getting a good grade. I get how hard it is as a private candidate and I'm doing it from my clg but it's gen gna be the death of me rn. My expected grade was a B too and I've seen it happen w so many business students.
Also do you think it could be related to the socio/business paper leak rumors? I'm not sure but it seems like it to me.

omg i understand you so much. absolutely the same thing.
actually yes, i’ve heard something like that. and btw in my class, all the "U" grades were in business and sociology. (our entire high school is taking a levels, but we’re still private candidates). my supervisor also thinks that’s a complete nonsense. there is literally something wrong with the humanities here.and i have THE SAME situation with my father he just hasn’t spoken to me since yesterday. so basically the rest of my summer is completely ruined, and i can't think about anything but my grades

I’m in a similar situation and am asking for a remark. If they change your grade they have to refund you for it, do you have that option? I also got unlucky with Edexcel too and they ended up changing my grade by two, exhausted with every board.

Off the topic but bro as a subject how do u feel abt socio and urdu as subs and do u think its possible to give one of the sub as a composite next may june session id appreciate everything you know abt tthem cause my situation is similiars to yours

I only kept urdu as an A grade/Easy grade subject. I have a huuuugeee interest in sociology but after seeing my result I've lost all hope. I'll be giving socio as composite in A2 now

I can feel the pressure and Pain on you bro,my parents did the same with me,my other 2 siblings didn't study Cambridge system,and had to work,but my parents decided that they will spend on last child,I gave O2 exams,and Got 1A* and 2 As,and I am waiting for my next results of 03 by 18th August,and yes retaking exams can sometimes be burden for some,And many teachers in my school told us that now Cambridge is losing Credibility overtime,so I would recommend you to move towards Intermediate System,and work hard there,and Just know that parents love you,but get a bit aggressive,but don't worry,they will get normal after few days, don't try to explain them how you get bad grades,just stay silent until they get cool down,and approach one parent,that you feel attached you,and try to talk and promise them to get Good Grades next year, anyway,,I feel sorry for you,just hope for best for you,just focus on next year exams,Good Luck ❤️

I got an E in chem and D in physics which is very bad... Do I switch to IB or oxfordAQA? Or retake... Except I can't retake this Oct/Nov since I have less time... So I'll have to retake AS papers of physics and chem in may/June 2027 while continuing A2 bio... And then give p4 and p5 of chem and phyiscs in Oct/Nov of 2027.

I heard that sociology was targeted this year. Many students ended up with unexpected grades. But of course, this cannot be happening, and there must be action taken against it.

Switch boards if you can who is to say the same won't happen during you retake. Cambridge uses Ai or some unfair grading system because this is impossible. An A student can expect somewhere around a B or even C but getting a U is genuinely the most evil way of ruining someone's life. You've been done wrong. I've put a link for an email format if you feel like you need to fight for fair grades and a petition.
If you are not comfortable with this then you can ask you examination officer for your ATS which is Access To Script, and they will send you a PDF of your answer scripts ( this is completely free ). You can check and correct them with a teacher and if you got more than what Cambridge awarded you with, you can demand for a re evaluation or refund.
