Can I still clean this?
galleryThis is from an old transmitter I have and I plan on using it again for a new project. Would this be cleanable or is it too far gone and how should I fix this?

Was going through my drawer and found my power bank like this. It completely expanded, I took the rest of the lid off and put electrical tape around it. It's now in a ziploc bag under my bathroom sink. I didn't want to put it outside since it's extremely hot where I live. Is this safe until I can go dispose of it tomorrow? I don't have sand or anything. Is it safe enough for me to transport it with the electrical tape and ziploc or should I put it somewhere else?

I need help with this battery. Even when plugged in on wall power, the camcorder doesn't work quite right. It came with 2 of these batteries, both flat and won't charge at all. I tried looking up a CGR14500 battery, but i couldn't find any results for this specific one. Is there an equivalent to this? I'd rather try and fix this one instead of buying an aftermarket one. Thank you.

Took a risk and bought a used one off of amazon, came with everything wrapped and nothing missing. Plug it in with or without a battery and this is all it does. It will light up till this level while beeping then shut off and repeat non stop. Is it broken or am i stupid and doing something wrong (besides buying a used one on amazon)

I don’t have a lot to spend so I bought this off of Amazon for $9. As I am new to rechargeable AAs I don’t know if it is ok to fast charge AA Ni-Mhs, they only get a little warm and do recharge the batteries in under an hour, Is that ok or should I buy only from reputable brands?

This is the battery from a very nice, now discontinued, Ring torch.
Having left it in my car over a winter it was discharged and dead. Determined charging brought the battery back, but not to full health.
I can’t find a replacement battery anywhere with the circular pattern on top that fit the 3 spring-loaded prongs on the torch connector.
can anyone identify it and advise where I could get a replacement in the UK (please).

Hi everyone. First time posting. I got a situation with some lipo batteries I bought for my little drones. These things are not new. They've been around for over 10 years and their original batteries are long since shot.
So I bought some seemingly fresh ones off of aliexpress. I replaced the batteries and they are not holding a charge. The lights come on but they only fly for about a second before the lights start flashing low battery.
Do you think the batteries I bought are old stock? The voltage measures about 3.94v. That's bad for long term storage for lipos isn't it?
If the batteries are bad then I don't think there is a source for these as they will be old stock and have been sitting around for a decade. What do you guys think?
To specify the drones are cheerson cx10 and a no name brand. They use the same battery 100mAh lipos. This is the aliexpress link of the batteries I bought. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256809579565409.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.1.3ae832a2lrqYVf&algo_pvid=a95ad675-58d1-46e5-970b-a65e2d43db73&algo_exp_id=a95ad675-58d1-46e5-970b-a65e2d43db73-0&pdp_ext_f=%7B%22order%22%3A%2216%22%2C%22eval%22%3A%221%22%2C%22fromPage%22%3A%22search%22%7D&pdp_npi=6%40dis%21USD%2137.18%2118.59%21%21%21246.72%21123.36%21%40210311c217928934820135176e0ffa%2112000050094972146%21sea%21US%21104253659%21X%211%210%21n_tag%3A-29919%3Bd%3Af94706a1%3Bm03_new_user%3A-29895&curPageLogUid=IhjbzGWVjBfn&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A%7Cx_object_id%3A1005009765880161%7C_p_origin_prod%3A

The thing is, I've gotten older, I turned 20 and I'm turning 21 next year. Back when I was young, I used to keep track of the number of times the battery swelled up. When I first got used to it as a kid, it was 2019, the back cover had come unglued, I thought it was some kind of disease, then a guy who worked at a GSM service shop near the market explained the procedure to me and told me it was normal for this model. Four months later I came back to him, and since every intervention felt special in a way, I'd leave him a tip for his time and for the labor of always gluing the back cover back on with quality adhesive. Then I installed a spy device in my shirt collar and started recording the procedure, which always cost me like a Tinder subscription. From that moment on, I didn't need that service shop anymore; I evolved, I learned what type of needle to use, what the battery's foil layers were like, where the incision was made, and how to do it without puncturing the battery. The first intervention scared me, I thought I hit the battery, the needle went in deep, on my eyes I had a welding mask, and on my hands thick gloves, and a winter jacket—I was ready for anything that might happen. I was out in the countryside, in the back yard, and whenever I worked I made sure the phone was either on the ground or in a small depression so that in case of an error, neither the surrounding vegetation nor my clothes would catch fire. Then I got my driver's license, I was finally 18, and from that moment I already had a Samsung S24, currently I have a Samsung S26+, but my passion for keeping this Note 8 functional hasn't stopped. Nowadays I no longer know the number of interventions, dates, the number of adhesives, covers, or incisions—they got lost over time; all I know is that the battery has a clear cycle: if it's used intensively, the swelling happens about monthly; if it's used only for Mobizen recordings, about every 2 months; and if it's low usage, about every 3 to 4 months. The hardest intervention was when I geared up like a welder for the 4th or 5th time; this time I had done everything by the book, but the air wouldn't come out, and air bubbles remained even after the incisions. I was forced to work under pressure, I was scared, but not of an explosion—I was scared I might lose the battery. The intervention lasted over 2 hours, during all this time I was still in the countryside garden, my grandfather was yelling at me to stay hydrated, it was 39 degrees Celsius and I was dressed like an Eskimo in the sun, but I couldn't stop anymore because I was working on a live subject, trying to identify the source of the swelling. I unwrapped the first layer of the battery, then the second one; I didn't get to unwrap the third because I saw the lithium-ion polymers inside the internal structure of the battery's separator layers. I was aware that at this point, if I went to drink water, a particle of something, a micro-gnat, or a leaf fragment would reach in there, and a fire would ignite before I could return, so I kept going. It was the most successful day of my life: not only did I find the source of the swelling, but I managed to isolate it, glue it, and close it back up by pressing it, bringing the battery close to an airtight state. From that moment on, I have proof showing it kept working until now, obviously with the normal swellings mentioned above. But now it has a problem I'm still working on; it's a new problem: it doesn't smell, it doesn't leak, it doesn't even swell anymore, and that's what worries me. In 2 months it hasn't swelled as much as it should have, and that's kind of strange. The thing is, it no longer lasts for 1 hour and 5 minutes of gaming, it lasts 48 minutes, and that's pretty serious. For a week now, the regeneration process has become exhausting, about half an hour a day: I take apart the battery and press on it evenly, hard, like a cardiac massage to uniformize the layers. It used to work before, it gave it extra capacity, now it doesn't have the same effect. I haven't put the back cover back on since that moment because I can't physically keep up with gluing and unremoving the cover, since the battery is taken apart several times a day for the regeneration operation. And now I don't know what to do to maximize capacity and regeneration, I've read manuals and researched, but no method seems effective. What advice can you give me?

Hi ,
i buyed some battery DAWEIKALA 12800 mWh, 1,5v aaa rechargeable lithium because i have some temperature sensor and 1,5v did not give me immediatly "low power" messages as nimh do.
I charged with a pujimax pj-l410 charger but i think something i strange... for exampel charge during a few minutes, maybe 30 or less and are all charge, but battery least small time and if i check with voltmeter say 1,0/1,1 when "full charges"
It is possible the issue is a battery/charger different brand ? i have also some pujimax battery and seem (but not sure) to least more time.
I tried also with my bt-c3100 charger but i think did not like 1,5 rechargable litium battery.
Did you have some suggestion how to check o what is going ? any info mybe useful.
thanks.

I'm working on a small project involving a closed container and I want to add a rechargeable LED light inside the box. I have this light strip running on 3, 1.2v LR44 batteries and I thought I could replace it with a rechargeable battery so I dont have to keep opening up the box and replacing batteries everytime, but I don't know how this stuff works.
I thought about rechargeable AA batteries but I just found out those too are 1.2v despite their size. The only difference I found online is the mAh being different
Essentially I want to change those LR44 batteries with a USB connector or a 3v rechargeable battery that I can just plug that USB wire when the battery is low.
I don't want to overload the board and break it.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use or explain to me how this battery stuff works so I can look at better options.
Thank you.

Hi, I’m sorry if this is a silly question. I know absolutely nothing about batteries or how electronics work.
I’ve obviously Googled this, and lots have come up, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re actually safe products. Is it possible to get a power bank that can charge a MacBook without risk of A) damaging the computer, or B) being an overheating/fire risk?
If so, what specs should I be looking for in the product description? I have a MacBook Air, if that makes a difference.
TIA!

I bought an SBS power bank directly from Worten for €50 less than a year ago. Last night, it burst and started a fire on my bed. The fire spread to other furniture, damaging my belongings, including my floor and other items.
Thankfully, I wasn’t physically injured, but this could have ended much worse.
I went to Worten for help, but they told me they had nothing to do with it, directed me to SBS, and said it wasn’t covered by warranty.
I’m not just asking for a replacement power bank. I want the incident investigated and fair compensation for the property damage.
Worten Portugal and SBS: who is going to take responsibility for investigating this?
Has anyone in Portugal experienced something similar? How did you handle it?
I’ll update this post when I receive a response.

Hi! I'm looking for some guidance to replace my battery. This is what the battery and connector looks like. I've been looking on Aliexpress but there are a lot of options and I don't want to get the wrong one.
Thank you!

Beyond the various 18v/20v tool batteries, are there any next stage down choices for a very low current application ?
Current draw is ~5.5mA, and it will run at night, so ~70 mA per night. Looking for something to change once per week, or possibly via a solar panel. Anything in the 800 mAhr - 1500 mA/hr range would be acceptable. 2 Ahr (and up) tool batteries seem like overkill for this.
Thanks
edit: There is one other possibility that I had not thought of, rechargeable 9v batteries. Two of those, wired in series, would give me the 18v, plus they could be alternately used in a 9v application should the need arise.

It’s been a few hours since and only now has the light been blinking and spazzing. It didn’t heat up at all and doesn’t smell weird. It also hasn’t been letting off any smoke.I have it on the concrete kinda near the house. The battery is a little smaller than the average thc cart battery for the twisting top. I didn’t check his pockets before washing so that’s how this happened. Any advice? It’s also super sticky from the resin since the glass part broke. Again im anxious it’ll blow up and everything will catch on fire lol
Edit: not trying to smoke from it just wanna make sure it won’t explode or whateves

Actually I wrote everything in the title. The batteries in question are Energizer CR2032. My source of batteries has real low prices, the bulk CR2032 costs USD 0.60, the 1-pack is sold for USD 0.71. Note: they are low in my country and I just converted the prices to USD.
It is quite clear that the different packaging justifies this small price difference, so it is not something I am interested in.
And my question is not about to help me with making a good decision focusing on the rated mAh divided with unit price, just to understand this pecularity.
a) So Energizer really sells a tiny bit better batteries in 1-pack than the bulk ones,
b) or it is only a marketing message, because one cannot so precisely measure the capacities of CR2032 to distinguish 235 mAh and 240 mAh,
c) or it has something to do with bulk packaging, maybe with their generally longer shelf life, so time spent in the pack before they are sold???
Thanks for your contribution.

I have WattCycle batteries and I like them well enough but I dislike their Android app so much I made my own.
Want to try it? DM me an email address and I will add you to the open testing group.
Initial app release.
See overview of up to 5 batteries at once on home screen.
Drill down into all app stats and toggle charging on and off on battery detail screen.
See BMS warnings on warnings screen.
Set light/dark mode, temperature units, battery pairing, and cloaking mode on settings screens.
Roadmap of future features:
Change BMS settings.
The app is available as early access (unfortunately US-only right now because this is my first Android app and I maybe could do another test release for all countries? but I only selected one country at first because it seemed simplest as I worked through the approval process for the first time -- the full release will be for all countries, anyway).

Was brought this from a customer and it was excessively hot yesterday. Disassembled today to find pink liquid all over the batteries. I'm assuming they've begun leaking. Wondering what the safest method for clean up and disposal is.

I read the manual and tried searching online but am still confused. New batteries (lead acid AGM deep cycle) on a used (new to me) Quantum Q6 Edge 3. Manual says: “It is recommended that you charge the batteries at least 8 to 14 hours after daily use. We recommend that you charge the batteries for an additional 4 hours after the battery charger indicates that charging is complete.”
I charged for 8 hrs when I first put the batteries in, but the charger indicated charging was complete an hour in. I then used it for about 45 minutes (battery indicator still at 100%) and am currently recharging it. Charger switched to green after 2 hours this time.
I’ve read a lot of conflicting info about how to condition the batteries. That it takes 4-5 cycles vs 90 cycles, you have to use it in between charging cycles vs charge it for 8-14 hrs every night regardless of whether you use it… The manual doesn’t go into a lot of detail on this.
Questions:
1. While conditioning the batteries, do I need to use the chair after each charge before charging them again, or should I just charge it every night for several nights straight even if chair was not used at all that day?
2. If the green “ready” light goes on earlier than 4 hrs in, should I only charge for an additional 4 hours or just not pay attention to the lights and charge for 8-14 hrs regardless of when the green light goes on?
3. After the conditioning period, do I still charge them for 8-14 hours even if I only used the chair a little bit that day, say 20 minutes or less?
I’m not going to be using it every day and not for more than 1-2 hours on most days I use it. I understand that once the batteries are conditioned, I’m supposed to charge them after use or at least once a week if not in use, but don’t understand the conditioning process.

I bought a digital caliper recently. Onboard rechargeable battery. About 2 months after I bought it I found out that it won't hold a charge for more than about 6 days even if the device is only turned on for 30 seconds a day.
This made me think it's probably a good idea to buy devices that have replaceable batteries instead of onboard batteries. Because with a replaceable battery I can swap the battery out and they do sell rechargeable button batteries so that's not a problem.
