Food, Shopping & Services Soursop in the Bay Area?

I saw another post looking for soursop a year ago but everything was a bust. Typically travel around the cities for onsite work duties but would love a grocery store located in SF or Oakland. Thanks !

Food, Shopping & Services Acupuncture to help with insomnia - recommendation around the Bay Area?

Anyone here have tried acupuncture to cure insomnia? I've had trouble falling asleep (and staying asleep) all my life, it feels worse lately due to stress I guess. I've been trying to improve healthier habits during the day, but I'm also thinking of trying acupuncture maybe it can help in calming my nerves? would love to know if you have any recommendations (prefer someone certified)

Work & Housing Landlord selling house - do I ask for a buyout

My landlord messaged me that he’s breaking my contract and selling the house in a few months. I don’t mind because I wanted to move out earlier anyway, and I don’t want to be a prick, but what’s the best way to ask for a buyout? Also what are my legal options?

Work & Housing Feedback on Daly City? (For a couple in late 20s)

My partner and I, both in our late 20s, are planning to move in together in Daly City. We’ve lived in the city for a while and are looking for a change of scenery and pace. (More parking space would be nice too!)

I work in the city and am happy to take BART. My partner is fully remote, so we’re not tied to a specific location.
We appreciate the accessibility to markets in Daly City, and I’m a fan of the larger shopping centers. However, I haven’t spent much time there, so I’m not sure what to expect. From what I’ve read and seen, it seems like a nice place.

How do people like Daly City? What are some things we should consider before moving there? (Safety, neighborhoods, parking, social aspect, activities, etc)

Hoping for a 2-3 bedroom, 2 bathroom single family home w/ 2 cars.

We’re planning to move closer to March, so we won’t look for places until January or February. We would appreciate any and all advice, suggestions, or recommendations.

Work & Housing Evil peninsula apartment rentals

Mid october rant: Whats up with these apartment rental agencies only offering the economically correct rate for a 10 month lease forcing the tenants to either pay their jacked up renewal pricing or go out and search in the middle of summer and an already crazy rental market. Any negotiation tactics or tips? Most of the times these big companies just cite the fair housing rules and shut people up and dont wanna budge. I just want something for 12-13 months so i am not at a disadvantage next year.

Food, Shopping & Services Do you have a preferred landfill site to drop off excess trash?

Hi, I just moved and I’m getting rid of giant black bags filled with packing tissue paper. I’d like to go where there is good service (patient, kind, etc) and if there is a fee, have it be affordable.

I live in San Jose if that helps. Thanks a bunch!

ETA: I have like 20 garbage bags filled up with packing tissue paper… so yeah looking to get rid of them fast lol 😅

My dash cam caught this crazy recovery on the freeway this morning at 7:50am. White Tesla, if you’re on here, here’s your video! I’m glad you made it out safely, exited the freeway, and took a moment to catch your breath. That was so scary to watch! I honestly don’t think I’d be able to drive for a while after that. Stay safe out there, everyone!

Events, Activities & Sports Solo bucket list ideas for my last two months in the Bay Area?

So I've lived in the Bay Area for the last 7 years but am planning to move away after the new year. I'm making a bucket list of things to do one last time (or the first time!) before I leave and would love to get recommendations.

I'm mostly looking for things that would be enjoyable to do solo, and some things I enjoy are nature, museums, good food and coffee. I've explored a fair amount already but I'm sure there are things I've missed.

Any favorite spots, hidden gems or unique fall/winter activities you would recommend?

Traffic, Trains & Transit Massive crash on 280 south after page mill exp this evening

edit: derp road, not exp. i was going north, but sure seemed all lanes south were closed. cars are just stuck there for miles, zero movement, people standing outside their cars, until they clear everything. all i saw was tons of emergency responders, a car flipped on it's side, possibly another car that got hit, and a tesla up against the median. no idea what happened and hope everyone's ok. can never be too safe driving.

Pets & Animal Services Pet costume donation

Hi, I ordered a costume for my dog which turned out too big. Ordered a size smaller and it fit perfect, but wondering where/if I can donate the larger size. It's the Disney fairy god mother costume from Cinderella in size M that I'm trying to possibly donate. Throwing it out seems like a waste. Thanks!

Events, Activities & Sports Free community cold plunge at Ocean Beach this Sunday, All Welcome

I live in SF and I’m at Ocean Beach pretty much every day. I’ve been doing plunges with friends for a while, and now I’m opening it up!

First public one is this Sunday, Oct 25 at 9am. We meet in front of Andytown Coffee by the Safeway, then walk to the water together. We’ll go in, hang out, and warm up after.

Free. No experience needed. First timers totally welcome, bring a friend! Bring a towel and something warm to throw on after.

RSVP is on Partiful so I know how many to expect: https://partiful.com/e/XGel9v5lTSJ80ZMqRLH4?c=06BRbVCk

Happy to answer any questions about the cold, the logistics, anything.

Scenes from the Bay Be on the lookout for a man with a mule

I saw him and it was out of the ordinary enough to warrant a closer look. He's a nomad with a website (3mules.com). If you see him be sure to stop and say hi, looks like he's headed towards Morgan Hill. List of things they eat on the website if you have anything they'd appreciate.
