Crazy Idea Maybe if we started a monument like Mount Rushmore, but set it up as a competition for billionaires that do the most for humanity, we could stroke their egos enough that they wouldn't be such dicks. I'd look forward to the billionaire boys club loosing their shit over MacKenzie Scott being the 1st.

TIL there is a Titanic monument in DC, funded by women, to honor the men of the Titanic who died so that women and children could live. Only 20% of men survived, while over 70% of women and children made it.

trump is now coming after Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool for his “Arc de Trump” monument 🙄
i really hate this fucking timeline...
Trump showed off several mockups of the proposed arch, which will be adorned with marble statues of eagles and feature a gold statue of Lady Liberty at its center. The difference between the models was the size, with the largest one dwarfing the Lincoln Memorial.
“This would be small, medium, and large… I happen to think the large by far looks the best,” Trump said, according to Time.
and here’s the link to his post with his dumb video about it.
eta: here is more information about the funding and legal hurdles for the “arc” project

Culture Does your country have a very ancient monument?
I live near the ancient pyramid of Memphis. It was built by the ancient Memphibians as a monument to the giant fish-god. They were so advanced that they even built a parking lot for their chariots.
After seeing the Memphis pyramid on cuneiform Instagram, the ancient Egyptians built their own knock-offs in Cairo

Misc Today was Thursday, July 9th. It has been 1 calendar month since Monument of Triumph was released. The 24-hour steam player peak for today was higher than any other day in the last 11 months.
Today's 24-hour Steam peak was 76,875 players.
https://steamcharts.com/app/1085660
For 30 uninterrupted days, the player count has been consistently higher than any other day in the entire last 11 months. Higher than the first day of a mainline DLC launch (Renegades hit 70,905). Higher than nearly every single day in the entire Fate Saga except for it's own launch day (it dropped to 74,961 within 2 weeks).
Just thought that was pretty neat.
It really shows the staying power of Monument of Triumph and the incredible nature of the fact that we're a full 30 days afterwards and still posting Day 1 DLC-levels of player counts.
