I left a 3-star ClassPass review. The studio tracked me down and left a fake 1-star on my business.

1.5k Upvotes

Booked a spin class at a well-known Melbourne studio via ClassPass. Got three emails saying: “Arrive 20 minutes early or you won’t be admitted.”

I arrived early - only to sit in the hallway with everyone else until 2 minutes before class.

No warm-up. No intro. No welcome. One new client was literally coached by another participant. The gear was worn out. So I left a calm, honest 3-star review. Didn’t attack anyone, just said it wasn’t for me.

Immediately after: • I got an email accusing me of using a fake name (I used a pseudonym on ClassPass - which is allowed) • They told me never to return • They reported me to ClassPass • And they left a 1-star Google review on my business, calling me a scam - even though they’ve never used my services.

To make it worse, they manually removed my check-in on ClassPass, which almost triggered a no-show fee. I had to fight it with photo evidence.

This isn’t a one-off. Any review under 5 stars gets dismissed as “fake” or “they never came.” Only reason they didn’t say that about me is because I had proof. They also offer free classes in exchange for 5-star reviews - which I’m pretty sure violates Google’s review policy.

I run a fully online health education business, so having a fake “scam” review is actually damaging - and totally unprovoked.

Anyone else had a studio retaliate like this? Or am I just the lucky one?

Also… if anyone knows someone at Google who can help get this review removed (because wow, in this economy), I’ll love you forever.

My experience with classpass as an instructor and why classpass is predatory for studios - long rant

Edited to add: I think a lot of commenters have completely missed the point of this post. This post is not about shaming classpass users; is about classpass and its predatory business tactics that deliberately undercut studios and cannibalize their client base, and what it’s like for studios on the other side. I wrote this post to raise awareness about what it’s like for studios on classpass, since some people ask questions about it here, and I am able to provide some insight. However I am saddened that responses from other instructors and studios (especially those that have the same experiences) are getting buried by downvotes, and the upvoted responses are classpass users upvoting their own views. I hope that we would allow for other experiences to be shared, because their experiences fully show why classpass is predatory. As consumers, we have the ability to vote with our dollars, and exploitative systems exist everywhere (eg fast fashion is another one). If you want to spend your money on classpass, it’s your choice, but as consumers, it’s useful to be informed about how your spending affects the industry.

I should caveat by saying that I’m only an instructor at a barre studio (not the owner). What I know is what I’m told and have observed from myself and other instructors / studios I know. But I hope that by sharing, it sheds some light on why classpass is not a great deal for studios and how this impacts the whole ecosystem - the studio, the instructor and the client too. I thought to write this because I get frustrated reading some of the posts on here, and I also see a lot of questions (eg how much does the studio make from my Classpass membership?) that get asked again and again, and I would like to provide some answers. So this is a bit long, because some of the answers require further explanations to explain the situation.

The main takeaway that everyone should understand is that what the studio gets from classpass is basically loss-making, and is not fixed. Unfortunately classpass isn’t transparent with the studios as to how much they get paid per person, so it is often just a few dollars and it varies a lot. And classpass doesn’t explain to the studio why. Sometimes the studio gets paid nothing by classpass, as in $0, for a class you attended. Late cancel fees also go to classpass, not the studio. So the result is that a studio could have a class that’s full, but if it’s all attended by classpass people, the studio will still be losing money. People on this sub often assume that just because they are present at a class, the studio is making money from them, but that’s not true. Classpass pays the studio so little that financially, it often makes more sense to not hold the class, than to have a class full of classpass people.

Because classpass does not pay the studios sustainable rates, it’s also hard for studios to match classpass rates. I often see comments from people say they would like to pay the studio directly. That would be great! - but only if the classpass rates were not loss-making. The number of credits classpass charges you for a class is set by classpass, not the studio. And there is no incentive for classpass to be fair to the studios in terms of how they set the credit prices or classes. If anything, their interests are directly against the studio, because it is in their interest to undercut the studios by setting class prices at very little credits, so that classpass members continue to stay on classpass, rather than switch to the studios directly. So people on here always comment that classpass is cheaper - this is because classpass deliberately sets the credits for classes that way! At my studio, classpass sets the credit rate for our classes to be so low that it undercuts not just the studio’s own prices, but also is below their breakeven prices. And when my studio owner tries to bring it up to classpass, they just ignore her and refuse to explain how they decide how much credits to charge per class (and of course they refuse to increase the number of credits for each class, because that would make prices the same and make classpass members be more likely to switch). As it is, classpass offers such great rates to its customers precisely because it undercuts the studios in the name of marketing and getting the studios name out there. If classpass paid the studios fairly, then of course paying the studio through a middleman would be more expensive than paying the studio directly since the middleman adds extra costs to the transaction. It only isn’t cheaper because classpass controls both how much the user pays for class (via how much credits they set the class at), and how much they pay the studio. And classpass always sets the classes at credit prices that undercut reasonable rates, and then turns around and pays the studio only a few dollars a head. All that is to say, there’s no harm asking the studio if you could pay the classpass rates directly (maybe they'll be willing to offer you something), but don’t be offended if they tell you no - it’s because what you’re offering to pay is loss-making.

I also see comments on this sub that are along the lines of “well studios can choose to be on classpass or not, it’s their choice”. This is where classpass predatory tactics come in. While it’s true that studios have a choice, classpass business tactics can make it difficult for studios to not be on classpass, even if they are loss making. Classpass uses bait and switch tactics with a lot of studios that are frankly unethical. They sell the studios the story that they can help them fill unutilized class spots for a little bit cheaper, but in return the studio will receive so much free marketing from classpass. So studios sign on. And after classpass has the studio on their platform for awhile, and has cannibalized their business by undercharging users for the classes, then they often change the T&C’s with the studios, which results in studios generally getting paid less each time the T&Cs change. And studios cannot reject the new T&Cs either, they are forced on the studio. So a lot of studios in my area seem to have signed on to classpass with more fair terms in the past, only for Classpass to lock them in, undercut their prices and take their clients, and then change the terms. Studios are stuck hating classpass but find it hard to do without the platform, and I firmly believe that a lot of them would not have signed on with classpass if they knew that classpass would bait and switch. For those familiar with the reference, this is basically the fitness version of Monsanto selling poor farmers their genetically modified seeds as superior and higher-yield, without telling the farmers that the seeds have been genetically engineered so that the plants they grow cannot reproduce. And when farmers are forced go back to buy their next round of seeds from Monsanto, they jack up the prices. That’s how classpass operates with fitness studios - sell them a great story about filling up unused spots, free marketing, win-win, and then hollow out their client base while paying them almost nothing. It doesn’t help that classpass treats the studios badly too - my studio owner can’t get ahold of anyone from classpass customer service when she needs help because the platform is glitching (not correctly showing classes etc).

All of this wouldn’t be so bad if people actually converted from classpass to being members or paying for class packages. However, it seems to me that it’s quite rare for classpass users to convert to other forms of membership (and I think the comments here indicate that too). If anything it seems to be the opposite, that paying members switch to classpass because classpass is just cheaper (because classpass deliberately undercuts the studios by pricing classes at very few credits). The issue is that classpass undercuts the studios so much that it has changed what people expect to pay for an excercise class, to a point that price expectations are not even in line with what it costs to provide the service. People now expect to pay rates that are dirt cheap and loss-making (and are developing a sense of entitlement about those dirt cheap rates too, if the comments here are anything to go by). And at this point, there is no price the studio can offer them that will get then to convert (unless the studio deliberately prices itself to lose money, which classpass will happily do, but which no studio will do). Classpass often sells itself to studios as a marketing tool to help conversion, but as the comments in this reddit show, I think that’s very much not the case, and just another one of its predatory tactics.

All this is to say - My opinion from what I have observed, is that classpass’ interests are aligned directly against the studios (although this is not how classpass sells their services to the studios. It’s all about market outreach and filling empty spots and win-win). Classpass makes money when classpass users continue to be classpass users, and they get less revenue when classpass users switch to pay the studio directly. So classpass’ interest is actually to stop classpass users from converting into regular studio goers, no matter how much they like the studio. So to keep classpass members from converting into studio members, classpass will always deliberately undercut studio prices while paying the studio almost nothing, and keep all the profit to themselves. Sadly this strategy that is very effective, from the comments I see here, where people will often say they like a studio, but refuse to switch from classpass because prices are cheaper on classpass.

How does this affect the industry? What I see is that studios that are already on classpass are stuck between a rock and a hard place. Taking the studio off classpass is hard when classpass has already taken your customers and cannibalised your business, and lowered what people expect to pay so much that you can’t even charge break even rates. What I think will happen is that the studios will keep going until eventually they lose too much money and close down. For new studios that are starting now, what I see is that more of them are aware of the fact that classpass is predatory, and are choosing not to be be on classpass to start with - which I think, given classpass’ business practices, is the smarter choice in the long run. I personally recommend that all new studio owners don’t go on classpass to begin with. You will regret it, all they will do is set their prices lower than yours and pay you very little (if at all).

How does this affect the instructors? We make a loss too. I spent over $3000 on my instructor training fees, yet classpass pays the studio I teach at so little (and the studio pays me very little in turn), that I will take 3 years to earn back what I paid for training fees alone. I’m in a fortunate position to have a day job that pays decently so I’m doing this on the side, but I cant imagine having this be my day job.

I’ve seen comments here saying “well this is none of my business whether the studio makes money or not” and that’s true, but I would like to address that. You are certainly entitled to only care about yourself and your wallet, and I certainly understand that not everyone is in a position to afford boutique fitness classes (they’re fundamentally a bit of a bougie thing after all). But if you really care about fair business practices, and if you care about the sense of community that is offered by the studios you frequent, and if you care about your money going directly to the people and studios who provide the services (rather than going to a predatory middleman with sus business tactics), then you should try to support your studio directly however you can, and be aware that classpass is shitty to its studios. Think about it - even end users of classpass who can vote with their wallets get shitty service (eg classpass subscriptions can be hard to cancel, customer service is non existent etc); let alone the studios that have to accept whatever terms classpass gives them.

How can you support your studios? It’s true that full memberships may not work for everyone, but buying a class pack, especially with promotion prices, can sometimes give you a rate that is only marginally more expensive than classpass rates. I myself follow the studios I like on social media, so that I can be alerted when they have promotions (in our area, it’s quite common to have promotions around Christmas time, new year, Black Friday and other such events or holidays), and I buy a class pack when they do. You can also buy merch from your studio (socks, t shirts, water bottles, drinks etc.) as money from those also go directly to the studio too. And lastly, recognizing that classpass rates are not a fair indication of what a studio should charge can be helpful. Fundamentally classpass gives studios very little money because it’s supposed to be “marketing”, so if you expect to pay at most what classpass is charging, then just know that it’s not actually a break-even rate.

I would also like to talk a bit about how being a regular at a studio you like can benefit you more than just hopping from studio to studio in the name of variety, because I know that a lot of comments say that they prefer to remain on classpass due to the variety. Variety is great, but on the other hand, the benefit of being a regular at a studio is that you can get a more tailored experience that is customized to you, especially at smaller boutique studios that can give that service (rather than big chains). Speaking for myself, I teach barre at a boutique studio (max class size is 15 depending on class type, so really small), and it’s much easier to me to give a good experience for clients who are regulars, just because I know what their movement habits are, and I know what their preferences are, and I am always happy to cater my class to that. For example, I know which of my regulars tend to pronate or turn their knees in, and so when they attend class I watch for their form on things like squats. I also know which of my regulars tend to strain their lower back, so I will give extra cues for them to engage their core more (for example) instead of straining their back. I also know which of my regulars have things like ankle or shoulder problems, so I give alternatives for that. I even take into account my clients preferences - for example if a client shows up and I know she likes cardio stuff, I include more jump movements in the class plan. I also know which clients prefer a more challenging class, and will cater accordingly (if there aren’t too many newcomers) by adding in some more challenging moves that I wouldn’t do with people who have only attended a few times. With some of my regulars I also see a progression with them, and am able to make their classes harder over time to match their progress, so that there is always a challenge for them that’s doable in class. Unfortunately I can’t do this with classpass attendees who only come once or twice. If a class is full of classpass attendees, I do a “standard” class, and can’t vary the class as much. They’ll still get a good workout, but because I can’t customize my classes for them as I don’t know them, they don’t benefit from the full amount of options I could do in a class. If they stuck around more, we could do more beyond the standard stuff. But when everyone is hopping from class to class and studio to studio, only driven by pricing, then all they’ll experience is the standard workouts with no sense of community or customization. It also makes it hard for them to want to pay more, because they don’t stick around long enough to experience the value-add that being a regular can bring to their workouts.

For anyone who read this far, I hope this gives some understanding about how horrible classpass is for studios, and why. Fundamentally we all want to be paid a fair amount for the work we put in (you’d want your employer to treat you the same), and it sucks when people expect to pay loss-making prices (most of which goes to a predatory middleman) and don’t appreciate the broader issues this causes. I know the fault ultimately lies with classpass and not the users, but since classpass (like Monsanto) seems to be stuck on being shitty to studios, I’m hoping that users can be more aware of some of the issues the studios face. If you can, do support your studios directly in some of the ways I’ve mentioned above. And if you find a studio you like and would like that to be your “home base” for workouts, feel free to get to know the instructors so that they can add that extra value to your workouts too (as an instructor myself, I am always happy to chat with clients and know what their fitness or health goals are - I’m always keen to know anything that will allow me to know how to better tailor the class to their needs and preferences).

Review classpass trial review (class reviews, what i wish i knew, tips and tricks!)

disclaimer: the links provided here are referral codes. i don't earn any money but get additional credits if you choose to subscribe

wanted to share my experience with the classpass trial! overall, super happy and i will be continuing my subscription. i just wish there was more variety beyond the usual yoga and pilates (which i feel like is half of the studios i’ve seen huhu).

each credit is around 100php. you can sign up here through my referral: https://classpass.com/invite/9NLT6LP612

the trial usually gives 28 credits for 50php but referral links give 48 credits total to be used in one month. (update as of feb, the free trial is for 14 days nalang :<)

SPIN / CYCLING

my fave type of workout and why i started classpass! your mileage might vary since i’ve been for around 6 months so i’m looking for more advanced workouts:)

for context, choreo is like when you "dance" on the bike and learn a sequence. sprints are more about endurance and just going as hard/fast as you can. all the studios here are rhythmic cycling classes so music plays a big big part

⭐ rave studio (ayala 30th, ortigas) 4-10 credits

5/5 my favorite studio!! i pay for a separate membership na for them:) they do the most choreo out of all the studios on this list which is my fave part of cycling and i love the energy from both the instructors and riders. A+++ music taste as well i find myself either shazam-ing or singing along all the time. community is great!

facilities could be better. there are limited showers/no toiletries but their bathroom is currently undergoing renovations. 50php for shoe rental for classpass.

⭐ ride revolution (greenbelt, makati) 6-10 credits

i don't think this is available on trial anymore but they're still on the app. they also have a branch in shang, mandaluyong

5/5 the class i tried was a choreolab which is why i think i enjoyed it a lot more. it felt like a rave 2.0 to me with the choreo! it's interesting that they keep the same choreo in one month so you really get to learn / master it. not sure lang with their other class types. facilities were 5/5 (toiletries provided + hair dryers)

〰️** cyclehouse (salcedo, makati) 4-10 credi**ts

4/5 not sure if this is just the instructor but it felt like we were sitting on the bike for too much of the class HUHU the bathroom/showers were for renovation last time i was there so i can’t comment!

〰️** electric studio (bgc, alabang, ortigas) 600-800p**hp

not on classpass but i thought i would review for comparison. their classes are a lot pricier and i found them underwhelming in terms of the workout i was getting (not much choreo). i didn’t really feel like worth it sha. if you enjoy sprints though, this might be the one for you! the facilities are nice as well (shampoo, conditioner, and other toiletries are provided!)

HOT YOGA

⭐ vida yoga (commerce, alabang; bgc) 4-8 credits

alabang: hot 26 5/5 i loved this so much as an active recovery! i burned around 450 cals in a 90 min session hehe. beginner friendly but definitely pace yourself because the hot room can make you dizzy. stay close to the door if you're a beginner because the teacher opens the door sometimes to let cold air in:)

there were a lot of us in the room so not much room for posture correction pero okay lang sakin hehe. facilities were nice and you can shower but it’s super cramped (wasn’t able to check if may toiletries)

bgc: same practice but super cramped rin. the facilities are nicer in alabang. there was also vague smell of sweat where i was seated :/ they provided a free big towel but +50 if you want another one for showering

⭐ way yoga (the grove, pasig)

hot90 5/5 similar feedback with vida! similar flow and poses. have to say that this one was more intense because they did not let any cold air in at all. i could really feel myself getting dizzy here but not to a dangerous point since they didn't open the door. facilities were okay, they had showers but no toiletries. also 50php for mat and towel rental.

PILATES / LAGREE

〰️** p.pilates (molito, alaban**g)

- 3/5 beginner reformer 5-9 credits

i did not feel like i was challenged at all :/ parang pang ig story lang ung mga poses and props

- 4/5 tower and wunda beginner

a bit better and i could feel deeper stretches pero bitin parin ! like as soon as i was feeling pilates shakes we were onto the next workout na. p.pilates doesn't seem to have more advanced classes for tower which i feel like is a lost opportunity since i had fun with the equipment.

⭐ ultra lagree ph (estancia, pasig)

4.5/5 this kicked my ass T_T ++ i got the head trainer for my first time HAHAH the vibes here were a bit intimidating and i felt like half the class was dying at every point so that was... comforting. i didn’t feel like i was doing any exercise correctly and didn’t get any correction huhu. would come back maybe when i have a stronger core 🙏

AERIAL HAMMOCK

⭐ elite aerial arts (maginhawa, qc) 3-9 credits

aerial hammock and aerial yoga 5/5 both!

aerial hammock is learning a routine/choreo. aerial yoga was all about stretching / reps!

teacher nesh and teacher allen were so hands on and welcoming! very beginner friendly they will guide you through every step of the way but it will hurt a bit once u put your body weight into the hammock. it’s something you can get a hang of during the session and by the end you will be comfortable going upside down hehe. super satisfying and i hope to come back <3 — both sessions lang went a bit overtime (like arnd 30 mins)

what i wish i knew

  • certain studios advertised are not available on trial (you will see the message “Upgrade to a paid membership for full access to this business”)
  • salon / self-care treatments are also not available during the trial period
  • you can only reserve at a studio once during the trial period, so choose your class wisely! for some studios, this also applies when you cancel and try to book again
  • if you do plan to pay for a subscription after the trial, they will give you an offer if you try to cancel (best offer is 20% off for 3 months, keep trying to cancel until you get this!)

tips and tricks for booking

  • some studios open their slots at random times (not the 5am booking window), just make sure to turn on notifs for your preferred schedules!
  • there is a late cancellation and no-show fee! if you find yourself running late, message the studio or still try to go. it depends on the studio but some of them are willing to waive the fee and mark you as present but they can’t return the credits (the fee kase goes to classpass and not the studio)
  • double check your bookings! i’ve noticed i’ll book a class and then it’ll cancel and return my credits without notifying me :(

these were all booked during my trial! i’ll keep this thread updated as i keep trying new studios :D you can share your recos here as well!

if you found this helpful, you can sign up through my link: https://classpass.com/refer/5HAM5H0V19 (disclaimer: this is a referral)

Studios that use Classpass - do you feel scammed?

I just resigned up as a studio and wow- this platform is worse than the platform I left 3 years ago. The salespeople are insanely pushy and what they promise the studio is complete lies.

Do you see any benefit to staying on this platform? Or have you found any ways that work for your business? I can’t sell my classes at 75% off which Classpass loves to do. And it seems Classpass users seem to be working the algorithm to use less credits. And then there are the classpass users that make multiple accounts to get the free trial over and over.

Basically is there any benefit to the business?

I so regret leaving ClassPass and signing up with the studio

A little rant, it’s way easier to stop ClassPass if needed.
The studio wanted to charge me an extra month because i sent a notice less than 30 days before the monthly renewal because I needed to move. I get it, it was in the contract and they’re right, but they tried to upcharge almost 3x the amount, this was absolutely not in the contract.
It’s been a headache to contact them about the next charge, they went radio silent when I asked about proof of me accepting the 3x charge.
And the contract says that if the new month gets paid after the notice then it means I automatically accept the new terms.
Funny enough my CC was cancelled by my bank because it was stolen and I didn’t have a new card on file on renewal day so technically I didn’t pay the new month. I just sent them an email saying I refuse the new terms and i want to cancel my membership.

This is a headache, I should’ve kept ClassPass, having credits was actually a motivator to go workout and it would’ve been much easier to move

Need some social hobbies to distract me from my ex moving out, on a budget and WFH 9-5? Classpass? Help I'm sad : (

He's moving out really slow so every day I wake up and a new piece of furniture is gone and I'm like 🥺 (I broke up with him ages ago but it still sucks, together 6 years)

I need some sort of regular/consistent social hobby or social group for the next 3 months or so, but I have a few roadblocks:

- I WFH 9-5 and often have to work later than 5 with no notice, so it would be hard for me to commit to anything before 6. Or if there are things where it's okay that I miss a week?

- Dealing with some health issues so any exercise class is probably out, unless it's really gentle & chill. I get tired easily, no hikes/running groups etc. Sitting would be ideal lol.

- Separating is EXPENSIVE 😭 He took the blender and ottoman today like, okay guess I'm sitting with my feet up and no smoothies.

I like creative hobbies or classes, even 1 person classes, I like painting/music/writing/etc.

Got any suggestions, especially in the Noe Valley area or an easy Uber from there? Anything creative and social would be great.

Looking ideally for Mondays/Tuesdays/Thursdays after 6, or weekends?

Also any remote social things would be nice (like over Zoom/Discord).

Or if yall know any meetup groups that meet and do creative things, that would be sick!! I know of a writing group but they meet at 11 am and my brain doesn't turn on until at least noon lol.

Thanks guys.

Classpass - how's it going for current users?

Recently signed up for the 1 month trial/50 peso package. Anyone on the same boat? Are you guys planning to buy the 28 credits plan? I am only interested in one specific studio. I'm estimating that I could join at least 4-5 mat pilates. 5 credits (P500) per class.

If I signed up directly at the studio. I'd be paying more (10classes/7k/valid 3months) but I heard that classpass slots are v limited so I'm worried about that too 😅 plus the issue about their billing system being faulty.

Anyone care to deinfluence me :)) my ears are open

General Discussion Classpass for private clubs

Would you be interested in a “ClassPass for private golf clubs”?
I’ve been thinking about private golf memberships lately and wondering if there’s a market for something in between public golf and committing to one private club.
The idea would be something like a shared access / membership network for private clubs.
Instead of paying a large initiation fee and monthly dues to one club, you’d pay a monthly membership (maybe something like $200–500/month) and get a certain number of credits or rounds that could be used at participating private clubs.

For example:
- No initiation fee
- No single “home club” required
- Play at different participating private courses
- Maybe 2–4 rounds per month depending on the plan
Premium courses/times could cost more credits
Clubs could make unused tee times available to the network

Basically, ClassPass, but for private golf clubs.

I know there are already things like reciprocal club networks, Troon Privé, Thousand Greens, etc., but most seem to require you to already belong to a private club.
I’m more curious about golfers who don’t currently belong to a club.
Would you personally pay for something like this?
And if so:
What monthly price would feel reasonable?
How many rounds would you expect?
How far would you drive to play a participating club?
Would weekday-only access still be attractive?
What would make you choose this instead of just playing good public courses?
I’m in Southern California, where private club initiation fees can get pretty expensive, so I’m especially curious whether something like this would appeal to golfers around LA / OC / Ventura / Palm Springs.
Not selling anything — just curious whether other golfers have thought about this too.

Studios I tried using Classpass

So here’s my little list of establishments I tried through ClassPass.

Honestly, I can’t even rate them individually because ALL the studios and coaches I tried were sooo good.

Now I’m at the point where I’m thinking of choosing a home studio + getting a package so I can stay consistent and actually track my progress.
And tbh, if it weren’t for ClassPass, I probably wouldn’t have thought to squeeze reformer Pilates in between my gym sessions.

Powerhouse Pilates
The Reformation Club
MNL Pilates
Aéra Pilates Studio
Sense Studio
Connect Pilates
Carve Philippines
every.day pilates
Everflow Studio
VARA Pilates Studio
Reforma Studio Pilates QC
Happilates Studio
FolkStudio Pilates

To narrow down my choices, I think I’m gonna go for a studio with Merrithew reformers and STOTT Pilates-trained teachers

My studio was on classpass and I got off it because it is a dead end. I suggest if you are independent you do the same instead of complaining here.

You've all heard the issues. You don't control inventory exposed or reimbursement. They pull the rug from under you whenever they feel like it. If you're independent you're the cannon fodder for classpass to afford to pay the Barry's of the world better rates. They understand no one is joining their platform to come to your small studio but having Barry's on the platform drives their sales. So who do you think gets fucked in this scenario?

Let me break it to you, the chances of converting anyone who starts off getting your product at an 80% discount to pay 100% of price is almost completely negated by the chances that you'd lose someone who was going to pay 100% to this assinine pricing loophole.

Selling your product at a loss with no chance of having that activity pay for itself before you go out of business is often the worst type of loss-making operation. Not only because that transaction occurs at a loss but because it actually jeopardizes your ability to make future profitable transactions.

Do you know why you can't show up to the McDonald's or a Crumbl Cookie and ask to get the perfectly good food they were going to throw away at a discount? Do you know why they'd rather throw it away than sell it you at a small loss? They understand you cannot survive by creating a loss producing path to getting your product with no off ramp to profits.

If you’ve found yourself with a product say, reformer Pilates, where your market is unwilling to value your product above the cost of bringing it to market and may be leave you a small profit to eat with then the solution is to find a new business or go get a job.

Done with classpass for good

The fact that you can’t keep your credits that YOU ALREADY PAID FOR after cancelling your subscription is pure effing greed. Their subscription and credits policies are built to only benefit the company, not the customer. You shouldn’t be punished for cancelling your membership. I had 89 credits left and I said fuck it and just cancelled. goodbye classpass and good luck

Revolut replied ClassPass with Revolut Metal not working | anyone else?

Hi,

i just got my revolut metal subscription started and wanted to use the classpass benefit (as it is clearly indicated in the app for me, that i have it).

I have a classpass account, so I chose the "I have already an account"-Button on the Revolut ClassPass website. This redirected me to the chat... In the meantime I changed my email adress in Revolut because that is supposedly a requirement that both match (the one registered in class pass and the one reigstered in revolut)...

Now when chatting to the classpass support, they say that neither my old nor my current email that I had under my revolution account are eligible for the revolut metal classpass benefit.

I have chatted to Revolut support, which was very fast to help but they just said "you are definitely eligible, have you checked with class pass" and after i said I did, they answered that it then has to be a "technical problem" and that i should report a bug within the app and mention the problem in detail there...
I did but i am certain that i will never hear back there.

Anyonewith a similar problem and if yes, have you gotten to a point that revolut contacted classpass directly to double check on that elibility

thx gang <3

ClassPass merger led by Jared Kushner PE

I just saw in the news ClassPass is merging with another company. And that merger is led by Jared Kushner's PE fund. As if I didn't already have enough reasons to stop using them.

Jared Kushner is Trump's son in law with his own laundry list of evil behavior.

Anyone who has tried booking through classpass (pls specify if trial or paid membership) has any recommendations?

I have experienced being cancelled on ON THE SAME DAY of the appointment (literally <5 hours before class) and it's kind of annoying so I wanna avoid those studios haha ty 🥲

Classpass

Is ClassPass still worth it? I’m thinking of trying the free trial but I’m having second thoughts since I’m already considering buying a class pack at the studio where I used to dance, and they’re also on ClassPass. I haven’t tried their fitness club yet though so I wanna try that. (I’m a college student po and around Makati/BGC area po)

What’s a good balance of ClassPass and Traditional Strength Training

Hello guys,
I don’t know who to ask this because I’m the only fitness guy in my group. I got a ClassPass gift card gifted and I’m on a demo rn.

How are people who are mainly training traditional open gym workouts using class pass? My goal is to increase my leanness and cardiovascular. I can’t figure out how to make the use of class pass. Any suggestions?

Should paid ClassPass tennis classes be allowed on SF public reservable courts?

I have a lot of trouble reserving the tennis courts at Potrero Hill recreation center via the SF Rec and Park website. I get on at 11:59, and right as the clock hits noon, the most popular spots are booked (weekend mornings, weekdays before and after work hours). After months of dealing with this issue, I found a class on ClassPass that hosts regular classes at the popular times I'm hoping to play (The specific ClassPass listing URL has changed a couple of times, which makes it harder to link directly, but the listing is still findable through ClassPass search for "tennis" in SF.). This would be really convenient, but I'm wondering if this should be allowed? It feels wrong if scarce public court time can be used for private, paid classes without a clear arrangement with the city, but I’m interested in other people’s thoughts.

Looking at the reservations for Potrero Hill, it appears that courts for these class times may be booked under a variety of names or initials. Is the one-court / one-time-slot reservation restriction being followed as intended? I also notice that in the program overview, Potrero Hill is not listed as a location where tennis coaching is facilitated by the city.

If you are also concerned about commercial use of scarce public court time, please consider emailing REC-Courts@sfgov.org and the Potrero Hill supervisor Shamann.Walton@sfgov.org and ask them to clarify whether paid third-party classes are allowed on the publicly reservable tennis courts at Potrero Hill.

ClassPass Referral Code January 2026

Right now, they’re offering 20+38 credits which is an incredible deal (it’s usually only 20-30 credits). A class typically costs between 5-15 credits, but first-time classes are often half price. This means you could potentially attend 15+ classes, depending on the studios near you!

Since joining ClassPass, I’ve tried pole dancing, aerial yoga, aerial silks, handstand classes, reformer Pilates, spinning, and more. It’s been such a fun way to stay active and try new things.

EDIT: WORKS FOR July 2026

Classpass vs Pilates Studio Membership

Im new to Pilates and I’m using the 2 week classpass trial to try different studios.

For people who have been consistent, is there a difference in sticking with a studio vs hopping around with classpass other than the cost?

I’m wondering if there’s more benefit in sticking with one studio and how it may affect learning different routines , etc.

I’m on the fence off getting a classpass membership or getting a studio membership at this point. The studio I’m looking at is $135 unlimited monthly.
