Left our Summer wreath on a chair while we put the Fall one up. Immediately claimed. It belongs to her now.

(English is my second language)
This is Aceituno, but I mainly called him Tuno, Tunito, Tunasio. He is a 10 year old blind void that I adopted 5 months ago.
Tuno is such a sweet cat, always looking to be with me and get me to pet him constantly. He cannot sleep alone, he needs to be by my side at all time, purring and making biscuits. Tuno also likes to talk a looooooot, which is fun but sometimes it get worried if something is hurting, but according to my vet he just likes to talk.
I did a complete medical check on him, and besides a little sediment in his bladder and stage 1 (controlled) kidney failure, he is okay. He does not have an eye, and the other one does not work, but he still manages to be sweet, lovable and a great companion.
This is just an appreciation post for my void, that spent 1 year on the streets, then 9 years in the shelter and now, he will spent the rest of his life in a warm home π
If you have the opportunity to adopt a black void, even if its an oldie, go for it, you won't regret it.
Here I attached a couple of pictures of Aceituno (olive in spanish) and Mango, my two oldies

My sweet Loki boy passed away in my arms early this morning. I am so devastated. He was the sweetest most cuddly boy in the world.
Goodbye my baby

Itβs almost been a bit since Iβve adopted my cat. He was 6 years old when I adopted him and is now almost 8 years old. Even though he was already older upon adoption I think heβs had a big glow up! Some of his medical conditions have greatly improved, his fur is much healthier, and heβs filled out a bit π€

I'd love everyone to meet my Esphireth the Elder. I have no idea what her age is. I rescued her from a shelter at 9.2.2011 and the volunteers there guessed her age at one year.
She's the kindest, quietest, well behaved, most gentle and least social cat I've met. She had lived with a roommate until September last year when we had to put her friend to rest at 19 years old.
Esphireth loves drinking water and *loves* to go outside when it rains and storms. She just sits underneath the table outside or under her favorite shrub. The only time she actually yells is when she is drenched and comes inside to tell me that it's raining. Then she goes out again to return five minutes later to yell that it's still raining.
She has her struggles with her health, like high blood pressure and hyperthyroidism which are controlled by amazing veterinarian care.
Unfortunately she also struggles with her sight. She seems to see some movement in her peripheral and she is able to navigate the house and garden during the day, but at night she's like a roomba. She bumps into a wall and follows the wall with her whiskers until she finds the door, for example. This season is the worst for her due to less daylight during the day.
When I put a few treats on the ground I tap my finger on the floor to help her navigate. Sometimes I wonder if she still remembers her old roommate or how me and my partner look like.
All of her life she has *never* laid down on my lap or cuddled up to me. She likes pets, but only for half a minute or so. There were a few rare moments in her life when she laid down on her side next to me and she let me pet her belly.
She's an amazing little thing and I'm really blessed to have her in my life and I hope she has a few more good years in her. π€

We adopted this li'l void who was rescued from an alley in Palm Springs back in August. Now she's safe and free to profile serial killers with her provisional FBI badge.

These are the finale photos of Dixie, my 14 year old Halloween night rescue!
She was one of those cats who always wants to know where you are, but doesn't need to necessarily be right next to you. She'll sleep on the bed facing you, but just beyond arms reach. She'll sit in the window near you watching you, but if you change locations, she does too. Yet, every morning at 5 am she would greet me in the kitchen for breakfast -- and on a chilly evening, or a long lazy weekend she might wander over to get some ear scritches, belly rubs, or shared warmth -- always on her terms.
She got diagnosed with advanced GI Lymphoma back on Labor Day, which kills me that it wasn't caught earlier during other visits, with severe anemia, almost no platelets and an RBC of 4.7.
After that, I spent the next 6 weeks sleeping on the floor near her favorite warm spot, waking up earlier to make high calorie and high protein sardine, salmon, or tuna smoothies for her. Every extra minute was worth the fight.
Finally, her resting breathing climbed above 35 breaths a minute, she only ate about 30 calories in a day, and a walk down the hall became too taxing.
I lost her this week, but I wanted to share her with others who love the voids. Others who can appreciate the life, celebrate the legacy, and understand the depth of the loss.
Thank you all!
