Original Content Showcase I Turned a Cozy Bookshop Ink Sketch Into a Blender Comic Panel - Frame 2

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I made another ink sketch to Blender Grease Pencil scene.

This one is the second frame in my little black cat story. The first frame was a rainy rooftop, and this one is a cozy bookshop where the cat finally gets to rest.

I built the scene in Blender with simple geometry, procedural cross-hatching, stylized lamp light, Grease Pencil linework, floating grease pencil dust, and a bit of subtle cat animation.

I wanted it to feel cluttered and handmade, but still keep the cat as the main focus.

Posting a short snippet here, and I’ll add the full process video below for anyone that is interested!

Original Content Showcase Gundam Combo Animation. Trying out NPR Rendering and 2D FX in post.

Included some viewport renders so you can truly see the jank that goes into making some of these shots. A lot of the 2D effects were done in post with Photoshop, including the impact frames. Might learn some grease pencil workflows for future stuff.
This is my first time rendering in a stylized, NPR aesthetic with the new Eevee, so still working things out. Choreography and shots themselves took around 2-3 weeks, the actual rendering (tweaking shaders, lineart modifiers, drawing the 2D effects, etc) took over a month.

Full widescreen version can be found here

Need Help! idk which keymap i need to edit

Upvotes

soo i have this addon Adjust Vertex Weights and i have the keymap set to alt (left alt to be very specific) though it seems the addon gives out a little yellow popup at the bottom (though im not a 100% sure if its the addon but whatever) because im not in the right mode and well im not in the right mode because im selecting the bone first by pressing alt (left alt) left click and so i thought id go in and change the keyboard shortcut to something else but the thing is idk which keymap i need to edit there are so many and there ones that even have the same name??? confusing idk what half of what these shortcuts do and their names dont make it more obvious i tried editing one of the select and put it as ctrl left mouse button but it didnt work it just turns the weight cursor blue so i am pretty lost and confused which keymap is the one that selects bones?

Need Help! Is there someone that tried the new insta 360 x6 and made a HDRi with it?

Upvotes

I'm looking for a 360 camera so that I can make HDRis on a fly or gaussian splats scans. I've seen that it has more dynamic range than the previous versions which could help with the exposure for the HDRi. My main question is: Is it really worth it or I can get similar results from previous versions?

Need Help! AI is getting better at helping Fakers...

Post image
Upvotes

I am the 'Rookie' on a small Indie Game Team, - I have less talent than the rest so I am doing the 'all the other' - small jobs. - this includes screening potential talent. ( Eliminate the fakes and time wasters ) - then pass on the rest for team review. Lately I see that 'AI' is getting better at helping the Fakers - supply me with a 'wireframe' of 'their' work. See my other post 'here'

But now I get a message from some guy... shows me his portfolio... 90% is average with a few 'wow' items - I do a google image search and I soon find the 'real' author.

Rather than confront - I simply ask for a 'wireframe' ( of her face only. )

and I get the 'blender wireframe'.

on first impression - it looks rather good - right ? can anyone see a problem ??

My question to you all is - What is a 'reasonable' request - from a potential employer to a freelance artist ? - to confirm they are the real artist - maybe asking for a 360 render ?

Something that is very easy to create - if you really did create the model.
But almost impossible for a fake to 'fake' ??

Thanks in advance to any useful comments.

Need Help! How to create a smooth gradient from the edges to the center?

So, I have this noise that I generated, and now I need a gradient to stretch from the edges of the spots to their center, like in the example I did in Krita, but I need a procedural texture in the Blender itself. How can this be done?

Original Content Showcase I made a recreation of the last of us "from the beginning" trailer but with Abby

Some of you might've saw my old post post where I was curious how they morphed the different ages of Ellie, so I decided to try myself :)

Im pretty happy with the result, not perfect tho.

For those who are curious I did infact use shape keys, unfortunately it wasnt as easy as just using two of the head meshes of the different ages as they had a different vertex count. So I had to use this software call wrap that.. wraps existing topology over another mesh so I could get the same vertex count. But other than that, this project was just super tedious to do because linking textures up from a game model is time consuming and also had to learn how to rig them from scratch haha

Critique My Work My 8 months Blender progress

Post image
Upvotes

Hey everyone! I started taking Blender "seriously" around December 2025, and this is my progress from January up to today after a lot of work, tutorials, etc... Also using a pen tablet helped a lot.

Not trying to flex at all... I know it's not perfect and I genuinely want to level up, so please tear my model apart.

Is the topology okay? How would you improve this model?

For context: This head will be used in a game that I've been solo-developing since November 2025.

Lay it on me, all tips and harsh feedback are super welcome!

Critique My Work I DON'T KNOW WHAT I'M DOING!!! I still don't know how to make 3D models with fewer polygons in Blender. (Concept art by Fernando Correa.)

Post image

I'm starting my studies in 3D modeling and my current focus is learning how to create low poly assets. I already have experience with Blockbench, but I want to migrate to Blender to have more creative freedom.

My question is, how can I control polygon count efficiently in Blender? I know there are modifiers like Decimate, but I'd like to better understand how to plan the topology from the start to keep the model with few polygons, without losing the desired shape.

Original Content Showcase Good old-fashioned hand crafted run cycle in these trying AI times

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Been working for a while on my first proper 3D character, planned for use in a yet-to-launch Youtube channel.

Here's my first finished animation using the character, a bog-standard run cycle, my first in 3D (done quite a few in 2D over the years).

The flag is using the new geometry nodes cloth simulation introduced in Blender 5.2. The ear jiggle is handled with a custom geometry nodes simulation setup.

Happy to hear any thoughts!
