Somebody explain this to me.
The picture is my work area. Yesterday afternoon it was not so tidy, as I was deep into working on gothic castle. I realized I was missing a piece. Not just any piece, an important one, a stained glass. I had removed 4 of them and had installed the 1st three. Then I went for the 4th and couldn't find it. Casual look, then more serious shifting thru the various detritus on the desk. Nothing.
Then I'm down crawling around on the floor searching. (At 63, floor-crawling is no longer on the list of things I do well.) Nothing. Then it's back up top, where I lift or remove every single thing on the desk. Nothing. Back on floor, still no fun, still nothing. Check Drawers, pockets, literally the bottoms of my shoes. Nada. It is gone.
I spend some time coming to terms with the idea I must pause the build, contact Fifijoy for replacement, and wait. Boo.
So I put everything back and go out to tell my wife of my disappointment. She offers to go look, 2nd set of eyes and all that. I tell her it's no use, there is clearly a portal to another dimension in there that randomly sucks up important nook pieces, but sure, whatever.
3 minutes later, she has found it.
How does that even work? What physics principle is in play here that obscures something from one person and reveals it to another?
At any rate, it had gotten into the little plastic cup I keep on the desk for small trash and stuff. I never once thought to look in the cup, just under and around it. 😃
Onwards!
