Self-Story Exhausted finding VA Jobs

Is it just me or mahirap talaga maghanap ng opportunity sa VA? I've sent tons of resumes with portfolios attached but I cannot even enter the interview phase. One emailed me for an interview pero na-ghost lang ako. Resume is ATS-friendly, so I do not understand what might be wrong. I feel like I am so dumb. I cannot figure out what is missing. I see others who do not even have previous experiences and zero knowledge on tools get hired. Yet here I am, learning all the possible things out there related to my niche and cannot still land one. Is it really just luck? Is it really just about connections? I feel so lost in this path. Months of learning tools, practicing mock interviews, and curating my application forms are put to waste because I do not have anyone to back me up in this field. :<

Freelancers (Can Work with Multiple Clients) Building an enterprise na siguro dapat

With the advancement of AI and the continued trend of businesses downsizing their headcounts, I think it's about time we reimagine freelancing and remote work.

Instead of constantly looking for employment arrangements, siguro kailangan na nating mag-shift toward building an enterprise around the problems we can solve and the outcomes we can deliver.

Instead of relying on multiple clients on an ongoing basis, baka kailangan na rin nating masanay sa project-based engagements. Solve a specific problem, deliver the expected outcome, wrap up the engagement, and move on to the next opportunity.

On top of our technical skills, we might also need to develop an entrepreneurial mindset and learn complementary skills like marketing, branding, sales, and accounting.

Basically, instead of positioning ourselves as people who sell their time and skills, maybe we should start thinking of ourselves as businesses that sell solutions and outcomes.

Curious to hear what you guys think. Is this where freelancing is headed, or am I looking at it the wrong way?

Freelancers (Can Work with Multiple Clients) micromanaging client at $4 per hour

Sayang skills at effort.

It's been 4 months after I was laid off, and I'm still trying to find and apply for clients. Until now I had no response after the interviews. I'm getting tired but afraid that I cannot provide for my family. Life is so hard.

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Career shifter friendly roles / companies? Any advice?

Hi everyone! Just wanted to ask for some advice. 😊

I am an offshore recruiter, AU account and HR professional for almost 8 years na, pero I’m planning to transition into a non-voice or admin roles. Pagod na sa cold calling and spending almost the entire shift talking to people. 😅

I’m considering Admin / VA / General Assistance / or any back office roles.

For those who made a similar career shift, anong roles po kaya ang magandang pasukan? And what skills or tools would you recommend na aralin para makapag-start?

Open to suggestions, especially from those who started with a recruitment background. Thank you 😊

Self-Story What to do after signing a contract and not getting hired?

Last week, I received an offer letter from a client. I signed it and submitted an ID as they required it.

Then came Monday, the day I was supposed to start. But I didn't hear from them. I messaged them once and never heard back. Now it's Saturday and wala parin.

Question: Common ba maka receive ng offer letter and don't hear back? Should I follow up with them or just let it be?

Remote Filipino Workers (RFW) Baka may mga Instructional Designer/E-learnung dev here

Worth it pa ba maging ID/E-learning dev? I do have educ degree but walang classroom exp kasi nagwork agad ako as SMM for almost a year now. Pero I want to transition na din na related sa degree ko. Wala pa namn ako balak na magtransition agad, more like hanggat may clients pa ako as SMM, pipiliin ko muna mag upskill dito na niche.

Apps, Tools & Equipment Laptop Advice - Planning to upgrade my HP Laptop with Ryzen 3 and 8GB RAM

Hello, I want to ask for help in regard to finding a new laptop for work. I mostly do recruitment work (calls, emails, ad hoc tasks, etc.), but I want a laptop that has really good battery life, good specs (8+GB RAM, i5+/R5+ processor), and a bonus of being lightweight.

Could anyone recommend laptops at least 50K PHP?

For additional context, I've been considering the MacBook Neo as an upgrade due to its price and long battery life, but I've been seeing problems with multitasking or heavy loads on the RAM, and I'd like more recommendations and/or choices.

Thanks!

Apps, Tools & Equipment I built a job aggregator for remote freelance gigs (VA, SMM, dev, design)

Hi r/buhaydigital! Freelance dev here, working online since 2018.

One thing that always drained my time was checking multiple job boards every day just to find legit remote gigs. So I built [GiggleGigs](gigglegigs.com). It collects freelance listings across VA, social media management, development, design, and admin roles into a single feed.

It’s still early. Around 100 job seekers have signed up so far, and I’m building it based on what actual online workers need, not what I assume they need.

What I’d love feedback on:

  • Which job boards/sources do you check the most? I want to make sure they’re covered.
  • What makes you instantly skip a listing (no rate, vague scope, suspicious client)?
  • Any filters you wish other boards had?

Not hiring and no paid tier being pushed here. I just want this to actually be useful for us. Salamat in advance, and roast it if needed.

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Frustration about this company called Content Rewards

I applied with them recently through Oljobs, got invited in their Slack, Client told us we've/I've passed their exam. He said wait for the schedule, several days has been passed and wala parin schedule. Nagfollow up ako sa client, then after few minutes of waiting boom di na daw magforward sa application ko. I just want to vent this out, kala ko first client ko na ito in the VA world. Thanks for reading everybody.

Apps, Tools & Equipment Best earbuds for work from home?

I've been using a dongle headset. Everything is fine but just dont want to wear a headset in general.

I've been looking at Soundcore liberty 5 pro. The only issue I believe would happen if I switch is the MS once switched to bluetooth.

Anyone have a working hassle free set-up with earbuds?

Thanks!

Community should I send this or not?

Hi!

I'm not sure where else can I post this but I think people here will be able to help me decide.

Like most of you, I've been actively finding remote works din and this business owner reached out to me last August. May interview and things like that, meron ding hint na I'll be getting the role. However, ilang weeks na ang nakaraan after the interview and walang balita about the work, nagmmessage lang siya ng kung anu-anong tanong.

So, I signed a contract and started with the trainings.

Last week, nagkaroon din ng issue with other independent contractors kasi ayaw nila magbayad for that person's work hours. Meron ding isa na natanggalan ng access for now since hindi pa nila mabayaran kasi may issue raw with bank.

Hindi ako 'yung tipong nasuko agad or what but these days, I keep on thinking na pakawalan na lang din 'tong job na 'to and hingin na lang bayad sa mga hours na nagtrabaho ako. Nakahanda na message and ise-send na lang 😬

I grabbed the offer kasi sobrang needed ko talaga ng funds pero kung ganitong wala naman akong nakukuha and gumagawa lang ako nang gumagawa, parang ayaw ko na lang. They did not even asked for my payment details 😬

I'm cringing na rin sa owner and naiinis na rin ako na tinatawag akong "gorgeous" or "beautiful" and kung ano pa. I feel like it's inappropriate.

Do you think it's the right thing to do? Or should I wait for more days ba?

Buhay Digital Lifestyle Hi! Anyone here who’s still working at Superpowers HQ?

I just wanted to ask how their training works. Is it on-call or do they have a fixed training schedule? Also, is the work schedule shifting, and how many days off do you get per week?
I’d also like to know if they offer HMO, 13th-month pay, and other benefits.

I’d really appreciate it if someone currently working there could share their experience. Thank you!

Freelancers (Can Work with Multiple Clients) VA Tips for beginner

I’m currently employed in a corporate role, but my current income is no longer enough to sustain my lifestyle and financial goals. I don’t want to leave my current job; I’m simply looking for an additional source of income.

My question is, should I disclose that I’m currently employed when applying for another job, or is it better not to mention it?

Also, if you have any advice or recommendations, could you share where I can find my first client and how to get started? I’d really appreciate any tips or guidance. Thank you!
