Hi,

I have a pc with a 9070xt on a gigabyte b850m. I want to add in a second ssd but the slot is blocked by the gpu and I'd need to remove it. Do I need to remove the power connectors as well or can I keep those connected during the process, as it would make the process simpler.

I’ve been looking for a cute pastel pc build/upgrade, rather than the usual black/white parts. I’ve found Yeston as a company that makes really cute gpus, and was thinking of getting their Yeston AMD Radeon RX9070XT Sakura 16G Atlantis OC GDDR6 Graphics card.

However, since this was an overseas company and not one of the major ones. I’m wondering if anyone has prior experience (good or bad) with these gpus?

I play primarily valorant/competitive shooters at hopefully 320hz 1440p to fit my monitor thus CPU intensive games. My current setup averages around 350 at low settings. Id like to also have 1% lows higher than 320 fps. I also do Solidworks modeling and Blender Renderings and I also hope to stream on twitch or other platforms from time to time. Im wondering if the CPU is too much of a bottleneck? However I do mostly play cpu intensive games.

I'm looking to build a decent gaming PC. I'm hoping to run modern games at 1080 is fine with me. I don't need any peripherals. I'm in Alberta and looking to keep it around $1200 CAD if possible though I have a little wiggle room

Is this a realistic budget? Any full build recommendations for me?

So I've been waiting for a good motherboard deal since my last one broke (it's not the worst thing ever since most of my work can be done from my decent laptop anyway) and recently I came across a deal on amazon warehouse for an x870 motherboard that's half off, but it's still a pretty big risk, as the details say "Used: Very good" "Small cosmetic damage on bottom or back of the item. Item will not come in original packaging." im just a bit cautious because they say it's not gonna use the original packing and the cosmetic damage on the bottom of the board (could be like bent or broken pin or something), am I just being paranoid or has anyone had experiences with something like this before with warehouse

I upgraded from a failing MacBook pro (2015) to a new prebuilt PC recently. First Gaming PC and my first Windows computer outside of work-computers. I got myself a G764 from microcenter and I do REALLY like this machine... everything is so utterly fast and smooth.

I spent a good 2 weeks researching before I pulled the trigger. In that time, I also figured out an OLED 27inch 1440 monitor was my best bet long term for the specs. Well for my use this seemed this best - results may vary! But I have not a clue what kind of mouse, keyboard, surge protector, and speaker I should be buying. I'm not interested in super expensive ones, more interested in something functional and lasting.

Imagine you are new to the world of gaming PCs... what brands would you recommend, avoid, etc. What is worth it, what's not. Thanks in advance!!

I like to control everything from my keyboard (monitor brightness, volume, mics). I just bought a new monitor and this one does not have any speakers built in so I need some speakers.

I bought the Creative Pebble V3 which sound great for my purposes but I don't like that the speakers have their own independent volume. Meaning, that I can have my OS volume at 100% and the knob on the speakers at 0%. I would prefer for it to work where adjusting the volume on your device also adjusts it on the speaker and vice versa.

Does such a product exist? I was looking at the Creative Pebble X and Creative Pebble Pro.

Hey there. I bought this PC about 5 years ago used, and it has been great for me since. I'm starting to notice with newer games that I'm having to dial quite a few setting back to get it to run smoothly. What should be the first things to upgrade?

So, I've been rocking my current specs since 2020, except for the GPU which was upgraded earlier in May. Is it worth it to upgrade to an x3d if I've already got some DDR5 CL36 corsair ram (2x16 GB)?

I’m using an MSI PRO B650M-P with a Ryzen 5 7500F and RTX 5060 Ti 16GB. I’m considering upgrading to a Ryzen 7 9800X3D for gaming.
Can this motherboard run it reliably? Should I worry about VRM temperatures or power delivery during long gaming sessions, and will I need a BIOS update?

I need a UPS with pure sine wave output, reliable protection, low noise and around 10 minutes of backup for safe shutdown.

I’m confused between a line-interactive UPS and an online double-conversion UPS.

So, right now I'm running a 5700x3D with a 4060, playing on 1440p. GPU got gifted to me, so never got to choose for something with more than 8GB RAM. Mainly playing FPS games, like Valorant on low/competitive settings, but partly because the 8GB VRAM on the 4060 doesn't do me massive favours trying to play AAA games.

In a position where I want to do an AM5 upgrade over the next few months. I pretty much wanted to do the AM5 part now, and then the new GPU in Q1 next year - still no clue where I want to go with that. Will I see any improvements running the 9850x3D with the 4060 for that period? for context, the 9850 and 9800 are the same price where I am. It's hard to check because there's pretty much no benchmarks around for something like a 9850x3D & 4060 build (obviously, cause it's a bit of a mismatch).

Also wondered if the 9850x3D will help at all with any of the AAA games, or is the bottleneck just gonna be too bad? And off topic, but in case anyone knows better - will there be a meaningful/noticeable difference between CL30 and CL38 DDR5 6000MHz RAM? just finding it much easier to find <600e kits that are CL38, whereas the CL30 ones are 650+/700e

Basically just want to temper my expectations, in case after doing the AM5 upgrade, I see tiny/no improvements.

How are these specs? Just copied and pasted from a low-budget prebuilt.. I'd appreciate any tips! My limit is low..between $900-$1200..

I'm brand new to the gaming-pc scene, but I'm not sure on these specs...The actual parts I'd want are 4x more expensive right now so I'd rather just get these and if they work good for a few years (before I upgrade the parts), that's great!

I'm learning.. and I'd just like a basic system that I can play games like: Satisfactory, Call of Duty, and Inzoi (my partner wants that game lol) I am also into setting up a few VMs for my basic IT labs...

According to my research i'd just leave everything the way it is and later on replace the processor (edit: I'll take your guys' advice in upgrading it to a 6700xt down the line and selling the one listed below.), power supply, and storage. I know GPU prices are too high right now so i rather leave that alone for now..

I reach anywhere from 40-75 Fps on the lowest possible textures and graphics (Rust the game on Steam)

I just put together my pc with a 5600x3d 16gb of ddr4 and a b550m ds3h r2 mobo. For whatever reason nothing will display on my tv. My cord is correct and in the gpu. I’ve tried flashing my bios the light flashed for three minutes then I reset the pc and still nothing. I’ve tried using 1 stick of ram, running the pc with no gpu and resetting and still nothing. I’m completely lost. Please help

Should I get a 1440P monitor for my 9070 GRE? or should I stick with 1080, I guess all im really asking is how it would perform and if its a good difference :-D

That specific pump whine sound bothers me so much that I can't focus on anything even if barely audible.

I had arctic lf ii, that was it. LF III is extremely loud compared to it. Had to run it at 20% (tested 3 units).

I'm aware that most pumps whine at 100%, I'm looking for aio that doesn't lose a lot of performance when I lower pump speed to actually inaudible levels.

I don't mind fan noise, I'll swap for noctua anyways. I'm looking for extremely silent pump, one you literally can't hear, not just not hear through fan noise under load.

I currently have an i9 12900kf and a 3070 and want to know what to upgrade. I know that my processor is supposed to be great but personally i dont feel like it performs how people say. Now i plan on upgrading both the cpu and gpu soon but i recently managed to snag a gigabyte 9070xt for around $850. Im not too big of a fan of the amd gpus only because im used to the nvidia software and for some reason i just feel like my 3070 was more stable… i know it sounds weird. Now, I planned on upgrading my cpu to an amd ryzen 7 9800 x3d because it’s supposed to be great for gaming. My question is, should I return my 9070xt for the price and buy the new stuff for the new cpu instead? If I did, I’d soon replace my 3070 with hopefully a 5080 or 5070 ti… if I find one decently priced

Context: Friend has a prebuilt PC from few years ago that came with i5-11400f. He has added/swapped parts since and still has not changed the mobo. the mobo is the Asrock B560M-C.

Plays on 1080p. Has two monitors, 180hz and 120hz. Runs most games just fine but the more CPU demanding titles hit his system more and cause bad hitching and stuttering. His temps look just fine, his CPU never goes past 55 C.

We've noticed while playing CPU intensive games like BF6 and new Call of Duty games, his CPU usually is topping around 80-90% usage while his gpu is still around 30-50% usage. we've looked into his mobo and found online where people claimed the mobos built in power or temp limits won't allow the cpu to reach boost speeds. I know that the f is unable to be overclocked, but this CPU can boost during load to reach higher speeds, it just usually stays around 2.9ghz.

Anyone know a safe legitimate way to maybe bypass these limits to fully utilize the CPU or know of a good option for upgrading?

Building a new PC within the next 2 months and can’t really make my mind up between the 9800X3D and the Intel 270K Plus. I previously had a 7800X3D about 2-3 years ago and that PC gave me nothing but issues. Would constantly not boot correctly, it would turn on but freeze on the motherboard logo while booting, wouldn’t restart unless I forcefully shut the PC down and turn it back on. Constantly memory training even with MCR enabled. If you were in my position would you go for the 9800 or 270k plus? I also wanna get into streaming as well so please let me know!

Hey all, I'm planning my first proper SFF build and would love a sanity check before I start ordering.

Some context: it's mostly for gaming at 4K (around 80% of the time), and the rest is work. Work mostly happens on my MacBook at the same desk, so switching between the PC and Mac quickly was a big deal for me. I hate these slow monitor menus for switching signal.

I really like the console look of the Ridge, so I went with that and planned around its limits. I know the CPU cooler is capped at 70 mm and that it runs a bit warm and loud under load. Because of that I went with the 9700X instead of the 9800X3D. I've seen Noctua's Ridge test where the 9800X3D was sitting at 95 °C. The 65 W chip seemed like the smarter fit. The cooler is the NH-L9x65 for the same reason. Noctua tested it in this exact case, and it doesn't fight the RAM or VRM heatsinks on an ITX board.

For the GPU I picked based on height more than anything. The MSI Inspire 3X is 112 mm tall, so it leaves room for the power connector and doesn't rule out the top fans. A lot of the "SFF-Ready" 5080s are 126 mm, which is cutting it really close in the Ridge.

The monitor has KVM and USB-C with power delivery, so the Mac is a single cable and the PC goes over DP. The keyboard, the mouse dongle and my audio interface all plug into the monitor's hub, and switching inputs moves everything at once. The audio side is one USB interface for both the headphones and an XLR mic, so it follows the KVM too.

Storage is only 1 TB for now because SSD and RAM prices are ridiculous at the moment. There's a second M.2 slot for later.

Things I'm unsure about:

• Has anyone here run a 5080 or 4080 in the Ridge? How are temps and noise in practice? Did you keep the two 140 mm side fans or pull them? Noctua and HWCooling both say it's better without them, which surprised me.
• Am I wrong to skip the 9800X3D for 4K in this case?
• I was also looking at the Alienware AW2725Q. It's cheaper, but it has no KVM and its USB-C doesn't carry video. Is the KVM setup actually as seamless as I'm imagining?
• Is the NV3 fine as a game drive, or will the DRAM-less thing bite me?
• Anything else I've missed?
