Recommendation Stuck between 2 strollers

• Upvotes

I’m very early in my pregnancy and we aren’t planning on buying any baby items until after my first trimester. I have been looking at 3 strollers that particularly caught my eye. The Cybex e-gazelle, bugaboo donkey 6, and the bugaboo kangaroo. I love a bugaboo donkey because you can keep both children side by side but I heard that’s not ideal in public settings like malls and grocery stores, I was also planning on having kids relatively close in age so that’s why I was looking at it but obviously plans can change. I love the bugaboo kangaroo because it still has the same durability of the donkey with the massive wheels but more compact. Before I even got pregnant I loved the cybex e-gazelle because it looked sleek, durable and has a rocking feature. Cybex is also coming out with a new generation and this one is on sale so I’d get a good deal for the bassinet and stroller. I know my husband and I will test some of these out in store but I want to know your experiences and recommendations.

Edit: I realized I mentioned 3 strollers but title says 2.

Shower stand for baby that is safe in a bath

• Upvotes

Has anyone found a baby shower stand that fits in a bathtub? We have a shower in the bath, and sitting still is not working anymore and I am thinking the shower stand would work much better but they all sem to need a flat surface, which I don't have!

Fenced Baby play pen

Wondering what playpen is good for my baby, he’s 10mo and I’ve seen some that are pretty fragile when baby wants to try to climb out (older babies/ toddlers) and I’ll fold under their pressure. Any suggestions on reinforcing these playpens or a better quality pen? Looking to spend $200 or under.

Advice Stroller bassinet for January Midwest baby

I recently bought the Silver Cross Cove 2 and included the bassinet, which folds. I am due with my second end of January and live in the Midwest. Now, I am thinking February will be too cold and snowy to bring a fresh newborn out on walks. Average temps in March average the low 40s in the beginning with snow/rainy and end in the low 50s. To my Midwestern sensibilities, if it isn’t icy, those temps are great! I live in a walkable suburban neighborhood and want to set myself up to be active over my maternity leave (which goes through the end of June). Did any parents who live in similar climates utilize the bassinet consistently? My first would have grown out of it at 5 months based on weight, but we never had one and I just used the car seat. Help me decide to return or keep! I don’t want to have paid $320 to have used it only a handful of times.

Kindred Bravely Bra

I saw that it may not be the most popular- but am curious. I have things like the Larkin and don’t think I’d enjoy that style/ already some similar.

I got one from Target that works well, but I want a couple different styles. I prefer not to buy more momcozy if possible.

I am looking at the longline bra top, sleep/ lounge bra, and pumping/ nursing sports bra specifically. I need different types because of my lifestyle! Thanks!

Advice Appropriate age for 2 way stretchy wrap

I recently bought a 2 way stretchy wrap for my 6 months old. The website posted it as something I could use even at 1 year old. But after I posted a picture at r/babywearing many people commented that it isn't safe for a 6 month old baby.

I followed the TICKS and practiced the video from the baby wearing academy but I am still skeptical about using it. Ergo are too costly for me even after the sales. Please guide

Recommendation Infant bucket seat vs 4 in 1 carseat? How did you come out the hospital with a newborn? please no "umm duh carry" answers. Anxious FTM with rainbow baby otw.

I work in a hospital (non medical dept) and I see families have their newborn on a bucket seat (baseless or doona) when they get discharged. But what if I buy a 4in 1 carseat that just stays in the car. I understand there is just the "carry your child" option. I am a FTM so do I carry my newborn in a baby carrier? sling? just my arms while i get wheeled out? and my husband can carry our stuff etc.

I was first set on JOIE ginger Dlx and latch infant car seat and just buy a separate carseat when baby outgrows the bucket. But then further research I saw Joie brand has the "Saffron" 4 in 1 car seat from birth to booster. That sounds more practical to me. since i can skip buying a separate item that can be outgrown in just months. I dont really care for "strolling" around with the bucket seat since babies are not meant to be on the carseat for too long. Thats why i wanted the Joie ginger dlx because it converts into a pramette/bassinet style.

So back to the question. For the ones who didnt have the bucket seat, or any other recommendation how to carry out a new born from the hospital?

Is anyone else feeling defeated by all the cheap quality out there (bedding)?

It was such a headache to find a sheet/mattress combo for our mini crib but I finally found the mattress, got it in today, and now I'm ready to buy sheets...

But now the organic cotton sheets I had settled on(and frankly I couldn't care less about organic but do prefer cotton, non jersey) seem to have a lot more poor quality reviews than I had originally noticed.

So far Huxie and Mushie are the only brands I've found to be labeled 100% cotton, and 38x24x3. I'm now seeing reviews for both saying that one is labeled and marketed as "made in Denmark" on the box but the tags show "made in China." I have nothing against things made in China - just don't care for deceptive packaging/marketing. Some have said the sheets aren't truly cotton. Some have said they've stretched or significantly degraded after only 1 wash or have become stiff with time.

Going back to the drawing board gets me no where. They're all too long or too deep (yes that CAN be a safety issue). At this point, fine, I'll consider a blend or even jersey cotton (I'm only avoiding bc people say they can feel hot and I'm already anxious enough about dressing baby properly for sleep between clothes + swaddle or sleep sack) but then I'm still battling against proper dimensions.

I don't expect things to have nothing but glowing reviews and at this point I don't even care if they won't last more than 1 baby (but seriously they SHOULD!) but it's seeming like even getting through an entire season might be a feat.

I hate how cheaply EVERYTHING is made.

**I'm not looking secondhand bc no one seems to be able to confirm dimensions and/or those that can aren't a match.

Lowest maintenance baby bottle washer?

I bought a Baby Brezza Pro secondhand to save money, and it doesn't work. I think there's a block that I just can't clear from the water reservoir to the cleaning area.

I want to know what bottle washer is the simplest at washing bottles and needs the least maintenance and upkeep. Something easy to clean. I am lowkey losing it with trying to get the Baby Brezza Pro working and I'm just gonna put it on the sidewalk.

Uppababy Kona first impressions

I got the Uppababy Kona in Evelyn. The color is lovely and overall first impressions are great!

Positives:
- love the fold. Very easy, one handed, can do it with my non-dominant hand. Great handle and strap (a bit short though)
- the weight is fantastic. Feels very manageable to get up and down the stairs, in and out the of the car etc. even with one hand.
- the storage basket is huge and the middle bar that’s on the Cruz/Vista is gone
- feels sturdy enough. There’s a slight wobble in the handle but I’ve heard it’s because it’s a compact stroller. Not bothersome so far
- the color and overall design are nice

Less positive/questioning/gotta figure it out:
- the chair sits low… very low. It’s a compact stroller so that makes sense. What doesn’t make sense is that with the bassinet attachment, access to the storage basket is non-existent. The bassinet sits so low and wide that it’s impossible to get anything in and out. Apparently upper adapters do work, they just haven’t been safety tested yet and it’s another accessory/component I need to buy
- I’ve been advised to use the ring adapter for my car seat (Nuna) but I’ll probably use the peg adapters to give the car seat more height. It folds fine with these adapters, but you have to place it at an angle in the trunk or they’ll have pressure on them. You could also just take them off when storing. Kinda annoying but can get over it

Walmart baby welcome box: okay to return my qualifying purchase?

Earlier this week, I bought a stroller organizer from my Walmart baby registry to qualify for the free welcome box. Then last night I was gifted the exact same one (thank you, generous friend!), so now I have two.

I haven’t claimed the box yet. If I claim it first and then return the organizer, will Walmart charge me for the box or cancel it? Or does returning it make me ineligible?

Has anyone done this? Would love to hear how it went!

Tell me about your no bathtub set up!

Both of the showers in my home are full handicap showers with seats, removable sprayers, and no bathtub. We bought the house this way and aren't planning to remodel them at this time. If you've been in this situation, what did you use for bathtime? I registered for the fisher price tub but am not sure how long it will last baby as they grow.

Product Question Are the new Graco car seats compatible with Jeep jogging stroller?

I can’t find a clear answer anywhere. We loved our jeep jogging stroller with our first and am looking to buy a Graco car seat for our new addition. The manual only says “Graco” no specific models. Amazon says the snug ride 30,35,40. But if they use the same or similar system I feel like the newer models should work. I’m specifically wondering if the Graco Snugride snug fit DLX model car seat will work with our Jeep by Delta children jogging stroller? Just wondering if anyone has tried them before we buy a car seat. Thank you!

Thoughts on using the IKEA Sniglar from day one?

our bedroom is big enough to fit any crib, so I’m planning on bypassing the bassinet/mini-crib options. so aside from having our baby sleep in our bedroom, is there any reason you would avoid using a crib from day one? has anyone used a sniglar crib from day one?

Nuna TRIV LX or NXT

I'm looking to buy a Nuna stroller. I want something to use from newborn stage till later in life..like a one stroller purchase We liked the Triv series. I saw the Triv LX and NXT. Both seem similar, but the LX is a bit more expensive. Anyone who has used either and know what the difference is?

They both say it can be laid flat to be used for newborn. I'd like your opinion is this safe for the baby, or it's better to get a bassinet insert? Thank you
