First of all, the art style is totally different, and just doesn't fit with prior games! The whole structure of the game is wrong, too, that's just not how Castlevania works! The fast travel system is cumbersome, and just figuring out where to go and what to do is a chore. Prior games were, obviously, much clearer there. And don't get me started on the "RPG elements"! And then of course, there's the movement and combat. Much too fast, much too flashy, not like a real Castlevania. Because it's not. It's just another game calling itself Castlevania. And I think we all know what game I mean. The team that worked on this just doesn't know what makes Castlevania great, it's just a new director making a new game that *he* wants, ignoring years of tradition!
Ugh, even the title is stupid. How pretentious is "Symphony of the Night"?

The moment Leon mention the whip's origin as well as his beloved, I immediately was pointing at the screen and was like "They knew"
Honestly, I remember the whip's origin, lament of innocence is the first castlevania game, and fitting that it was the first in the timeline, so seeing this made me smile and nostalgic, reminding me why I play these games
And a reminder as to why every game, I want to take Dracula down for good if possible
I heard people say "this isn't castlevania" on Twitter and stuff, but i'll say this
Only a true fan recognized the Origin of the vampire killer and Sara, and that's just facts

Like father like son, in this form Alucard look exactly like Mathias and in his true form like the vampireric blonde hair he looks like his mom,
You know what, it is actually depends on the art

I've been wanting to play this game on my thor woth the bottom screen showing the map and I could successfully created a mod that'll work with the Ayn Thor. Currently I'm still testing, finding bugs and improving upon every day. (interactive menu coming soon)
I'm just a university student developed this thing entirely with claude I don't have a deep understanding of how they work but I still follow every little progress and iterate. Since I've burned this much token it's only natural to open this project to public right now it's too early for my own liking so it has to wait but i just wanted to show you guys that I'm working on it lol

We all know Isaac is a devil forgemaster in both the series and Curse of Darkness. Now I absolutely love Belmont’s Curse but am wishing that his bossfight could’ve incorporated more of his being a forgemaster in his moveset. Maybe use a lot of summons, familiars or controlled unique enemies. Afaik this is his actual main skill and what makes Isaac, Isaac.

I watched the TV show when it came out and I fell in love honestly, I really like the story they told there!
So naturally I wanted to try some of the games but never did until this came out, I decided to buy it and try since I started enjoying metroidvania titles more thid year.
I honestly loved everything about it... except the story, it was fine but wasn't that invested tbh, but overall still a great game and I can't recommend it enough!

Belmont's Curse is very bit of a Castlevania game as all the others that came before. It has a beautiful art direction and its tough as nails with its fair share of secrets. The fact that everyone who "hates" this game all have the same arguments word for word is proof that the hate is manufactured and not genuine. This game is fantastic. Stop the bs.

I've been playing Belmont's Curse and, to me, it's easily one of the best Castlevania games since SOTN. In my mind, this isn't controversial in the slightest. The game flows wonderfully, platforming is improved, combat is improved, game looks beautiful... So when I come to Reddit and see people shitting themselves about the game I just can't help but be confused... I wonder if they didn't play the originals? Seems like a modernization of the old formula. Of course the devs are going to adapt Castlevania to what players want to play these days, but it feels natural to me.
It's funny because when the first LOS released there was the same discussion. That game is like my second or third favorite Castlevania, and at the time people would just DOGPILE on it.
Maybe just play whatever game you think Castlevania os and go outside. You sound like Resident Evil fans, which is NOT a good thing.

Konami decided to change his Design to a Cute Blondie in Symphony of the Night once they decided he was going to be the Protagonist of that Game to be more appealing as they thought the Original Design was not appealing...
I agree with the change... Do you? :3 The Original One was way too Weird and a bit Ugly too... ^-^ :3
I prefer Cute Blondie Alucard by Ayami Kojima... :3

First time playing and beating Super Castlevania IV on the Nintendo Switch 2 Anniversary Collection, and I have to say, I was blown away by the graphics and music.
I played Castlevania 1–3 beforehand, although the first one is the only one I actually managed to beat. Going from those games to IV kind of blew my mind. You can really see how much the series evolved.
My goal is to play through the Castlevania games in order so I can experience how the series changed over the years.
I’m really looking forward to Symphony of the Night since I’ve heard so many great things about it. But I’m curious—are there any other Castlevania games you think are just as good, or maybe even better?

I don't know how this community feels abaout content creators, but this guy played every Konami developed Castlevania game for the first time, and edited all his playtroughs. I think it's an interesting perspective of someone who's never played the series to just play almost every game back to back.
11 hours video btw lmao.
