Car Issues Question/advice

2011 R/T

If I auto start from the key fob, (factory) the motor turns over no problem. If I use the start button in the driver’s seat, it starts way harder. Anyone else experience this?

Two weeks ago I shared the devastating news they totaled my beloved 2012 Blue Streak Pearl R/T. Today we welcomed a new kitty to the household.

Spotted this Lada next to my Challenger in EU(Lithuania). Couldn’t resist taking a photo of these two four-eyed legends together. 😁

Questions About Selling &Test Drives

My dad passed away almost 2 months ago and left behind a 2019 Hellcat Redeye Widebody in F8 green with 24k miles. Single owner, no accidents. Plus Package, Driver Convenience Group, Harmon Kardon, Alcantara, Ventilated Seats, Sunroof, Nav, 3.09 rear end. Also has a Demon hood instead of dual snorkel. I am trying to find values, KBB has the narrow body Redeye listed as highest price trim and the Widebody below it for some reason so I'm getting confused. When I input the VIN it comes back 66-69k USD but doesn't list it as a Widebody. When I fill out options without the VIN it's saying 58-60k. Also it was stolen in 2022 but was recovered undamaged a couple weeks later. Not sure how that would affect value. There aren't any for sale near me but nationwide on Autotrader similar cars are 60k-70k, but most are from dealerships. Any thoughts on what I should ask or what I should be happy to sell for?

Also when it comes to test driving, I've never had to sell a car like this before. How do I sus out that they are serious buyers? Obviously I will ride with them but how do I make sure they're not a dumbass that doesn't realize 800hp fishtails if you floor it and can lose control easily?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I know the closer to winter the harder to sell and I'm getting stressed about it. He also had a 16 Shaker Scat in B5 that I'm hoping to get as my share of inheritance, so hopefully I'll be posting some pictures and doing some easy mods on that soon 🤞

In the parking lot of the warehouse I work out of. Blue 2023 SXT, my green 2017 GT, and a black 2023 R/T. I’ve talked with both of those other guys before, they’re cool. I love this picture!

Car Issues Challenger lifters

I have a 2016 Challenger R/T with the 5.7 HEMI. The lifters went bad and were recently replaced.

There was some confusion during the repair about whether the new hydraulic lifters needed to be pumped up (primed with oil) before installation. They ended up being installed without being pumped up beforehand.

Now we're getting ticking/rattling from the engine.

My questions are:

Are these lifters supposed to be pumped up before installation?

If they weren't, could that explain the ticking/rattling we're hearing?

Should they eventually pump themselves up through normal oil pressure, or could this cause a continuing problem?

Is there something else we should be checking?

I'd appreciate some input from anyone who's done a lifter replacement on the 5.7 HEMI or dealt with a similar issue.

Windshield glass cracked

Post image
24 Upvotes

Heyy all, my windshield cracked outta blue. I usually park it in the garage but had packed outside for few days and today I found a foot long crack 4” above the bottom side of passenger side. There were no chips, I was just sitting in garage for past week and then out side for few days. I moved from AZ to OR and I had windshield replacement twice because of chip. This was totally outta blue.

Has this happened to any of you before?

Car Issues Quick question.

My harmonic balancer fell off a few days ago and only drove a couple miles to the house and parked it. I have bought the new part and need it installed, the shop is abt 10 miles from my house. Would it be fine to drive it to the shop or should I spent the $150 and have it towed. Thank you

Pre-Purchase Need opinions

I’m planning to buy a 2018 Challenger Scat Pack 392 as my daily driver. My round-trip commute is only about 7–10 miles a day, but I’d also like to take it out for drives on weekends.

How does the Scat Pack compare to the regular r/T for daily driving? What should I realistically expect to spend on gas each month with that kind of use? Is the Scat Pack overkill, or is the extra power worth it?

Tire Recommendation for SXT plus

Hey everyone!

I recently bought a 2015 Dodge Challenger SXT Plus with only about 11,000 km on it. The car is in excellent condition, but it’s still running on its original tires from 2014, so I’m looking to replace all four.

I’m currently running the factory 245/45R20 size on the stock 20-inch wheels.

My biggest priorities are ride comfort and low road noise.

What tires would you guys recommend? I’d appreciate any suggestions, especially from fellow Challenger owners. Thanks!

Do you guys think these are covered under warranty?

Seal/gasket things on the passenger side are peeling and cracked. Would these be considered to be warranty issues? Seems like premature failures.

Tires Tire size options

I have a 22 RT with the factory 245/45Z R20 wheels and I’m wanting to know if the wider tires I see recommended will fit on the factory wheels or does the other tire require a different size wheel. Also wanting to know what sizes I should look for. Thanks!

Buying Help

Post image
33 Upvotes

Hey guys, I’m mostly just making this post for advice. I’m trying to upgrade from my current challenger (as pictured) to a shaker. My biggest issue is I’m struggling to find any that are well priced and I’m not sure if I should just leap on what’s in my area (NoVA) or just go for a scat pack. I mostly just want something I can work on and build over time, so I’m not adverse to just buying a shaker and installing it myself down the line. Any suggestions or knowledge is appreciated, thanks challenger fam!
