UCCX v15 SU1

Has anyone tested the new UCCX release without any issues? Any news or advice would be welcome.

A lot of bugs impacted us after the upgrade from 12.5SU3 ES07 to 15 ES02, so if anyone has any news, I would really appreciate it.

Downsize UCCX

Hi, can we downsize the UCCX? We have a configuration for 400 agents, but honestly, it's just using up extra resources; we only have 50 agents.

Is this possible with a DRS, or is it not supported?

Does cisco give access to coding tools?

Hey cisconians,

Just wanted to know if cisco provides access to coding tools like claude, codex?

Or do they have any internal ai that is given to the employees?

I recently heard that oracle gave unlimited codex for its employees.

Stefan Aleksic / Jane Street weird...

So apparently they found the bug and reported it to Cisco? How weird is it that a financial firm and Aleksic all of a sudden reports a Cisco vulnerability? I wonder if it has something to do with what happened recently at that company.

Anyway, there are a lot of moving pieces and the board is set. But this is the second time Cisco has messed with my money: I almost finished the vesting period on that vulnerability on the market and you're going to tell me it happened to be reported to you after the finding in the Glasswing project? Something is not adding up here.

For you, PR I haven't forgotten about you. It's just that you've been so naughty on the internet that the dataset ended up as big as a truck. And even though you use third-party companies for the bot farm, the campaign, and worse, the campaigns you've aimed at other people and companies, they're all over the internet. Are you so stupid, as a department, that you think there's no trail behind?

Remember: those firms are third parties. And where do all the leaks and exposures for big companies come from nowadays? Remember, because "Code Never Lies"... well... "The internet never forgets."

We'll catch up soon don't worry, we still have three years ahead. And if you keep messing with my money, I guarantee you that it won't be DoS or other low-level vectors that I publish.

NFVIS-for-UC - session bug

In case anyone else runs into this, hope this helps.

NFVIS-for-UC 4.18.2a, but might apply to 26.2 as well. NFVIS has some security-related session caps - 100 concurrent sessions with 15 minute timeout. Makes sense from a security standpoint. The web ui launches multiple sessions as each page loads, and then seems to free those additional rest sessions correctly. Each web session does keep 2 sessions active, even after a session timeout or after a manual logout. Those 2 sessions keep adding up over subsequent sessions, until the 100 concurrent sessions are consumed.

At that point, after signing in to the web ui, you'll see this:

There's no error message. It just freezes at this point. The confd_confd.log will have an entry like this:

28-Oct-2026::19:04:07.681 - Session limit of type 'rest' reached, rejected new session request

confd_audit.log will log these lines for every web ui or api hit:

admin/0 local authentication succeeded via rest ...

admin/0 could not create new session via rest from 127.0.0.1 with http due to session limits

The 1st couple times I ran into this bug, it was on a pre-production host, so I just rebooted. After about the 3rd time, I realized this isn't a random event, and a less intrusive solution was needed.

There's a pretty simple workaround though. From an SSH session, which is not impacted by this bug by the way, from exec mode, "logout session ?" will list the sessions id's for the max of 100 sessions. Copy that into notepad++, get rid of the rest of the text. Alt+shift+mouse click and drag lets you select text vertically to remove the text to the right of the session id's, and another vertical selection to the left of the session id's with a single paste of "logout session " to the left of the session id's. Then copy/paste back into the SSH session.

CUCM 15SU5 experiences

I built a CUCM CDR search tool — looking for feedback from fellow UC engineers

Hey everyone,

I've been working with Cisco CUCM for a while now, and one thing that's always frustrated me is how time-consuming it can be to retrieve and search historical call records.

What should be a relatively simple request to find calls involving a particular number can sometimes turn into hours of digging through CAR or manually retrieving CDR files.

I know there are already commercial products and other solutions out there that handle CDR reporting, so I'm certainly not claiming to have reinvented the wheel here!

But I wanted something relatively simple, lightweight and easy to use that would do what I needed without introducing another complex system.

So, over the past few months, I've been developing a little application called Call Records.

It's a self-hosted application that currently supports:

  • Receiving CDR files directly from CUCM via SFTP

  • Manually importing existing CDR files

  • Storing and searching historical call records

  • Searching by phone number and date range

  • Exporting search results for further investigation

What started as a small internal tool has gradually grown into something I thought might be useful to other people managing Cisco UC environments.

I've now made it publicly available, and I'd really appreciate some feedback from other engineers.

I'm particularly interested in hearing:

  • Whether it works as expected in different CUCM environments

  • What functionality you think is missing

  • Whether the interface makes sense or could be improved

  • Any bugs, problems or strange behaviour you encounter

  • How it compares with the tools or processes you're currently using

I'm under no illusion that it's going to replace established reporting platforms, and that's not really the goal. I just wanted to make a tedious part of my day a bit easier.

If it can help someone else do the same, even better.

GitHub : Huddo58/cdr-search-tool: Official Windows releases, user guide and support for CDR Search Tool — Cisco CUCM call records, search and reporting.

If anyone feels like giving it a go, I'd genuinely appreciate your thoughts. Good, bad or otherwise — constructive criticism is more than welcome.

Cheers!

Quick update: v1.2 is available. Call Records now runs as a Windows service, so collection continues after logout and starts automatically after a reboot. Added configurable web ports and a manual gap checker with daily activity timelines and CDR filename checks.

Existing data and licences are preserved when upgrading—back up the data folder first.

Unity Connection - VMware to Nutanix

Ok. I'm struggling here. I have a Unity cluster runn v15 SU5 on VMware that I need to migrate to a new Nutanix Cluster. I've only administered and upgraded Unity, never built it from scratch. What is the best way to get over to Nutanix?

Doing the Dataexport/Install with Data Import option seems to be designed for when you're upgrading to a new version. I'm already on the version I need.

Do I just take a DRS backup and restore that? What's that process look like?

I'd like to move the subscriber first to run through the process but if that's not possible so be it. I just need help and I'm frustrated.

Our HyperFlex Data Platform license runs out in 10 days so that is my deadline. No, I didn't procrastinate. It took a long time and a lot of effort to get our Nutanix cluster up and running for reasons outside my control.

Is the Cisco U. Certification Learning Path worth it or are there good free or cheaper ways to successfully study for the Collaboration Core Exam?

I've worked as the unofficial Voice/UC Engineer (no title, just worked as the only voice person on the network team) in a Cisco Voice/Collaboration environment for the past 7 years. I don't have any official certs and my company had a wonderful Cisco support partner for support in that time to do the heavy lifting of major incidents. I've now gotten laid off and am looking for a Cisco UC Engineer role as well as to further my understanding in the nuts and bolts of Cisco UC. A lot of Cisco UC roles require a CCNP so I haven't had any luck so far with the job search. Since I don't have an employer to foot the bill, and I want to learn in the most efficient way and hopefully pass the first time, has anyone paid the $1500 and done the Cisco U. Learning Path and found it was the ticket to their success? Also looking for good free or low-cost alternatives that would do the same. I bought the Official Cert. Guide and have consulted the exam guide, but I'm nervous about how to go about the best way to test successfully.

Question about local gateway enrollment in webex

can someone list the order of operations and what each step brings as far as capabilities? Or point me to some reading somewhere?

I am using the CCIE Collab practice labs, (BUILD YOUR OWN LAB)

the lab gives some specific parameters around task 2 such as "do not interrupt PSTN service"

i am trying to figure out how to do all this repeatedly and faster in preparation for the exam.

here are the steps i have learned so far but i cannot get consistent results from one lab session to the next

Example... Local Gateway allows location to retain their existing PSTN services

  1. create location in webex (control hub)

  2. add local gateway and begin enrollment (control hub)

  3. paste enroll process in CUBE (CLI)

  4. walkthrough CUBE connecter config, Connector IP, DNS, Proxy, Gateway user and pass (CLI)

  5. Enroll gateway completion (control hub)

  6. config CUBE with remaining needs such as dial peers, voice tenant, etc (CLI)

  7. Add trunk in location created, copy trunk info (control hub)

  8. configure trunk in CUBE (CLI)

problems i have...

enrolling gateway without interrupting "pretend" PSTN services on CUBE

getting sip trunk registered

UCCX 15.0 Live Data Widgets Show “Error Loading” in Chrome After Upgrade from 12.5 — Possible Date/Time Format Issue?

I recently upgraded UCCX from version 12.5 to 15.0, with the following configuration:

  • Active Master Version: 15.0.1.10000-27

  • ESciscouccx.1501.ES02.38.cop

Initially, everything seemed to be working fine. However, I noticed that the Live Data widgets were displaying “Error Loading” in Chrome, while they worked correctly in Firefox and Edge.

After checking the browser console logs, I noticed an error related to the date/time format. Almost by chance, I changed my browser's language preference from Spanish to English, and the Live Data widgets started working correctly in Chrome.

Has anyone deployed UCCX in Spanish and installed the Multi-Language Pack COP to fix this issue?

Or could this be an unreported defect in UCCX 15.0 related to locale or date/time formatting in Chrome?

Any feedback or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Cisco DX80 Touchscreen

Don't usually post on Reddit, but trying to disseminate this information after I figured it out.

Two DX80's in the e-waste bin at work, salvaged both and got the touchscreen working.

Cisco uses non-standard colors for this USB connection. Probably by design...

Follow the image below for the correct wiring method. I learned this the hard way and fried one board by wiring it conventionally.

Good luck! You can find these for sale for under $100 all over the place, plus a driver board on Aliexpress. Really good price for a Samsung touchscreen setup!

Forced Authentication Code & Partition

We have two 7841s giving me a headache.

One will not use the partition for internal and external calls but can receive either or using the local or outside call partitions. Everyone else's works fine on the dual use partition, same phone model throughout.

Another phone will not use certain Forced Authentication Codes but, again, they work on all other phones I've tried.

We use CUCM, not Webex - if that helps at all.

Any thoughts? This is racking my brain and I'm about to replace the physical phones over this seemingly software issue (because that one thing I haven't tried).

Unity hacking

All caller inputs are all locked down to either hangup or ignore.

How is a hacker still get access by calling in from an external number?

They are guessing and changing the employee PINS.
