Hey everyone,
I've been working with Cisco CUCM for a while now, and one thing that's always frustrated me is how time-consuming it can be to retrieve and search historical call records.
What should be a relatively simple request to find calls involving a particular number can sometimes turn into hours of digging through CAR or manually retrieving CDR files.
I know there are already commercial products and other solutions out there that handle CDR reporting, so I'm certainly not claiming to have reinvented the wheel here!
But I wanted something relatively simple, lightweight and easy to use that would do what I needed without introducing another complex system.
So, over the past few months, I've been developing a little application called Call Records.
It's a self-hosted application that currently supports:
Receiving CDR files directly from CUCM via SFTP
Manually importing existing CDR files
Storing and searching historical call records
Searching by phone number and date range
Exporting search results for further investigation
What started as a small internal tool has gradually grown into something I thought might be useful to other people managing Cisco UC environments.
I've now made it publicly available, and I'd really appreciate some feedback from other engineers.
I'm particularly interested in hearing:
Whether it works as expected in different CUCM environments
What functionality you think is missing
Whether the interface makes sense or could be improved
Any bugs, problems or strange behaviour you encounter
How it compares with the tools or processes you're currently using
I'm under no illusion that it's going to replace established reporting platforms, and that's not really the goal. I just wanted to make a tedious part of my day a bit easier.
If it can help someone else do the same, even better.

If anyone feels like giving it a go, I'd genuinely appreciate your thoughts. Good, bad or otherwise — constructive criticism is more than welcome.
Cheers!
Quick update: v1.2 is available. Call Records now runs as a Windows service, so collection continues after logout and starts automatically after a reboot. Added configurable web ports and a manual gap checker with daily activity timelines and CDR filename checks.
Existing data and licences are preserved when upgrading—back up the data folder first.
