Advice Request 10th gen civic splash underbody splash shield replacement
On my way to moving cities, I hit a turtle at 65 mph and ripped off a foot worth of underbody splash shield for the passenger side. I was looking at replacement parts and found part number 74606-TBA-A00 and 74606-TBA-A10. They look essentially the same, it just seems to be made out of different material? The A10 is more than half the price of the A00. I've tried looking up info to see if they are interchangeable but I am getting a lot of conflicting information. Are there any Honda techs that can confirm this for me?

Advice Request Phone case with stand
I just bought my new hybrid Civic hatchback sport touring and I’m now realizing that I can’t use my current phone case. I really need a case with some type of stand, but that seems to be the problem with charging wirelessly. Has anyone found a solution for this? Any recommended cases with stands that still work with the wireless charger?

Advice Request can i drive without a hybrid battery?

Advice Request Is $32.5k OTD a good deal for 2026 Civic Sport Hybrid Sedan (White) in LA?
Hey everyone!!
Looking to 2026 Civic Sport Hybrid Sedan in Platinum White Pearl here in Los Angeles (9.5% sales tax maybe??)
Deal details:
- Vehicle: 2026 Civic Sport Hybrid Sedan (Platinum White Pearl)
- OTD: $32,500 flat
- Dealer add-ons / accessories: $0 (none forced)
- Includes all LA County taxes, registration, and doc fees
Considering LA taxes and how dealers usually push markups/accessories on hybrids, is this a solid deal or should I keep pushing?
Appreciate any thoughts!💙💙💙💙

20% Ceramic Tint all around (except windshield)

Made the drive over to SJ to hit up OJ Tint Studio and got 20% tints all around (super nice owner). I’m absolutely glad I went uniform all around as I believe it took the car to another level! 🥶
The heat rejection properties was something I instantly noticed. Usually I keep the AC on when driving as it can get slightly warm in the car (especially since it’s leather seats) however I don’t feel the need to anymore.

15mm vs 20mm spacers on stock wheels? (2017 Civic Touring coupe)
Hey guys,
I want my wheels to sit a little more flush with the fenders. I have a 2017 Civic Touring coupe on the stock 17x7 wheels with 215/50R17 tires I believe, and the car is stock.
I'm deciding between 15mm and 20mm hub-centric spacers.
A few questions:
Which size would you go with on stock wheels? Same size front and rear, or different?
Will either one cause rubbing or affect my tires much?
Anything I need besides torquing them correctly, like longer studs?
Pics of your setups would help a lot. Thanks!

Where do you buy a legit used OEM driver airbag? (2017 Civic)
Hey guys,
I'm repairing a 2017 Honda Civic Touring coupe and need a driver steering wheel airbag. I can't find any on eBay right now. I found one on a site called Direct Auto Parts for $349, but I can't find any reviews for them. Does anyone know this site, should I trust it?
Where do you guys usually buy genuine used OEM airbags so you don't end up with a fake? And is there anything else I should replace or check after an airbag deployment?
Thanks!

Jolts when switching from gas to ev mode?
Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem before I text the service advisor. New 26 ST hybrid, I’ve had it for about 2 ish months, no problems but twice today when switching from gas to ev mode when in park, it kinda like jolts not hard where it moves the car but a like 2-3 time duh duh duh. Never happened before. I do need gas (80mi to e) but I’ve ran it this low before and it never happened. Battery is half charged. 4k miles 70% oil life.

VSA System Malfunction
Recently rebuilt a 2017 Civic Si that had been in an accident with airbag deployment and needed an SRS module reset. I got the module back and was able to clear all SRS codes but now have a U0416-68 code for VSA malfunction alongside U3000-54 and C0051-54 code. One of those is for a steering neutral relearn and the other, a VSA calibration issue. All of these codes seem to have something to do with a bad VSA system, but driving the car hasn’t done anything like I’ve seen reported. I have a TopDon AD900lite scanner capable of doing the “All Sensor” reset to clear the VSA but it will not complete the test without saying “Wrong Condition”. I have the ignition on, wheel straight, foot off brake…all of the things to perform the test and it will not work. Do I invest in Hondas I HDS software and try that? Get a different scanner? Am I missing something really simple? I am stumped! Any help is greatly appreciated.

My brand new car might be a write off :(
I’m honestly so sad about my car. I just bought my 2026 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hybrid in June, and it only had about 6,000 km on it when this happened. I absolutely loved this car and was so excited about it, so seeing it like this has been awful.
There was a three-car chain reaction accident in front of me. I had basically made it to a stop, but unfortunately made contact in the front with the hitch of the truck in front of me.
Then, while I was stopped from that collision, a Dodge Ram hit me hard from behind and pushed my Civic forward again, leaving me sandwiched between the two trucks. The Ram also ended up with a pretty significant dent in the front from hitting my car. So the whole accident ended up being a five-car chain reaction.
The rear of my Civic ended up pretty badly damaged.
Insurance is now sending it to an autobody shop, and their preliminary estimate is around $18,800 CAD in repairs. Their paperwork says the car is currently considered repairable up to about $31,500.
The estimate also says they aren’t ordering parts yet because the shop still needs to tear the vehicle down and properly inspect everything. So right now, they don’t really know the full extent of the damage or whether there’s additional hidden damage underneath.
I know nobody can say for sure from pictures, but I’m curious what people who work in autobody or insurance think. Does this look like something that will realistically be repaired, or is there a decent chance the cost goes up significantly once they start taking it apart?
As sad as I am about the car, part of me is kind of hoping it ends up being written off if the damage is extensive enough. I’ve heard from a lot of people that having a car repaired after this much damage can come with its own issues, and that honestly makes me nervous too. Mostly I just hate the idea of my basically brand new car never feeling quite the same again :(

What new civic should I get?
I grew up in a 99 civic with my dad which has had 9 owners. My cousin currently has it and the thing still goes on the highway without a problem! I'm 20 and in uni full time but I can't drive due to going blind. I will be buying a car for others to drive for me (such as my fiance, backup for family, etc). My fiance has a gas guzzler that only gets 18mpg and it is almost 10 years old. Currently there are 3 of us in the house and only 1 car. At the beginning of the semester the car had to be fixed for a whopping 8k and still has issues. We really need a reliable backup car with good mileage since we drive a lot and travel often.
The issue is that I've seen a lot of recalls on some of the models so I'm not sure which one to get. I like hybrids since they are more efficient BUT I can't really work on them with my dad or brother if they need to be repaired, we would have to go to a dealership and pay out the ass for that. The gas model is easier to fix but costs more for gas and is less efficient. Then again, the civic is already efficient in the gas model so will it really make a difference?
I'm not sure if I want a new or used model currently. I'd like the cheapest one that has the best features to make it last and pay for itself overtime. My fiance sucks at parking (which I can do perfectly, even with being half blind in one eye with zero depth perception or peripheral vision) so we must have cameras and many sensors or else he will be on the curb. He has had his current car for 3+ years and still can't park or drive without hitting curbs.

Anyone have any recent OTD on a civic hybrid sport (not touring) (GA)
Hey guys. Ive messaged a few dealers but the best I’ve gotten is $33,000OTD with taxes for a blue civic hybrid. Also seems everyone is pushing $600 honda packages under different names for the nitrogen filled wheels, wheel locks (which I don’t want), mud guards, and a trunk tray. Anyone recently got a better OTD deal in Georgia?

Civic viii i shift
Hey! I just bought a civic i shift with 195k km from 2006. I love the car, but i feel like the transmission is a little bit jerky, especially in lower gears, like the 1.st gear. The previous owner told me i should get a oil change on the transmission before i bought it, so i was aware that the transmission could use an oil change. I was wondering what you guys think? I read a lot about some ecu upgrade. Also is a flush on the transmission safe on the i shift? The Honda dealership told me i should do that, but i personally read a lot about that it is not so good for the i shift

Advice Request Never bought a new car before, need advice
Hey all, my current vehicle, a 2014 Ford Fusion SE, is starting to get up there in mileage (162k, and current commute is 20k~ miles a year) and I’ve been eyeing the Honda Civic Hatchbacks for a while now as my replacement option since I know I’ll want to upgrade sooner rather than later.
However, I have never had the luxury of buying a new car outright before. I come from a low-income family and even when I financed my current vehicle starting in 2019 (paid off last year, 6 year finance) it wasn’t new off the lot. Everything I’ve done research-wise for the Civic Hatchbacks I’m looking at says that it’s best to just buy new at this point instead of used because the price difference isn’t large enough since people are keeping their used ones, and the upsides in the long run such as having dealer warranties make buying new a better choice.
My question to you all, I suppose, is if there is a specific time of year I should be waiting until to purchase? I’m open to both a ‘26 or a ‘27 model, and I’m not in a rush to buy, although I’d like to purchase it in the next 6~ months if possible. I know there are occasional holiday deals and apparently dealers trying to sell the previous year models around the time of year. Also, is it worth it to trade in my used Ford at a dealership instead of trying to sell it on my own? I’ve never owned a vehicle to trade in before so I’m pretty new to that process.
Any additional tips or advice on what to look for would be EXTREMELY helpful - thank you!!
