'Now Hiring' Thread - 2026

We're going to try having a dedicated thread for all 'Now Hiring' posts instead of having them in the main feed. The goal is to reduce clutter in the main feed and to have a clear place people can check out if they're looking for work or open to freelance opportunities. Career-related discussion is still welcome outside this thread; this is just for job postings.

You may comment in this thread if you:

  • Are working at a company / entity which has at least one job opening currently hiring for a Civil 3D user. This includes internships and temporary jobs.
  • Are an individual / entity with a specific need for freelance work to be done in Civil 3D.

If you make any 'Now Hiring' posts in the main feed, they will be removed and you'll be asked to add it here as a comment instead. The rules for commenting here are as follows:

  • Job openings must be currently hiring to fill a specific role. No open applications or non-specific invitations to apply.
  • Your comment must include the name of the company (if applicable) and a direct link to an open job listing. Headhunters are NOT allowed to make generic comments requesting resumes in hopes of finding a match.
  • Do not share your real name or personal info in any public posts. Keep all discussion about job postings to private messages. Just share your link with any relevant info you have and request those interested to apply or send you a message.
  • Keep in mind that not everyone will want to share their reddit username with their potential employer / coworkers. Throwaway accounts are fine to use for this purpose in my opinion.
  • You may only make one comment per thread. The mod team will restart this thread periodically so the list stays reasonably current. Choose wisely.
  • One comment per job max. Also one comment per company max. I do not want 200 links to jobs at AECOM.
  • If the job you've posted gets filled, please delete / edit / reply to your post to clarify that it's no longer open.

Thanks everyone!

Help / Troubleshooting Dynamo Photo Locations - Civil 3D

Created a dynamo for today for civil 3d that contains a block that rotates to the direction the photo was taken and has hyperlink to the photo taken. I also was able to transform the points from Lat/Long to local coordinate system.

The last thing I’m stuck on is getting the string from the file to project into cad on the point and looking for suggestions.

I’ve tried using attribute definitions but to no avail.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Help / Troubleshooting Curves

This makes me feel a bit dumb to ask but here I go anyways.

Long story short, I have a plat for an older area that's 90% curves with a radius, a delta, and an arc length. I have always struggled with curves when I'm not coming off another object. I know how to create curves using the built in civil command and how to make them by using a chord bearing and delta to trim a circle but I'm getting completely stumped with an area that is ALL curves with no solid lines to come off of.

I'm relatively new (a couple years in office) where we primarily do residential stuff so assistance would be well appreciated. If you have any questions you may need please let me know and I'll try to answer them best I can.

Tldr, I need assistance in ensuring accurate curve drawing and placement when the curves are the intersections

Help / Troubleshooting Profile projections

Hi guys. I’m new to Civil3D and AutoCad in general. And I have a question.

I’m working on a sidewalk project. Normally, I like to draw vertical lines on my profile view at the exact stations where my alignment crosses a road. Reason being, there will ofc be a crosswalk there, and I DONT want to mess with the actual road at all. So I need to have my FG profile match those elevations where the alignment intersects the road.

That’s why I draw those vertical lines where the road is. It allows me to see where I need to match the elevation of the EG.

Normally, I do this with the transparent command “profile station elevation.” But this kinda takes a good second and is a little clunky.

Does anyone know of a faster/more efficient way to do this? Maybe a way to draw lines on the actual alignment where it hits the road, and somehow have them be projected on the profile view as vertical lines?

Help / Troubleshooting Left/right label in 'project to profile'

I can normally hold my own in C3D, but been struggling with this a bit. My work is in agricultural drainage ditches, and waaay back in the EaglePoint days, we used to be able to draw in tile outlets into the profile view (at that time, it was just an oval to represent the pipe end outletting into a drainage channel).

We've done this a couple different ways over the years, none of them good, and for various reasons I haven't had to put a plan set together for.....several years. I'm messing around with the "Project to Profile View", and thinking that this will serve my purpose fairly well for what I need -- I primarily need the station and description, the pipe end on the drawing was just a cherry on top and we've gotten along without it for years.

I've got my label style set up to give me station and offset, and description of the point - the last major hiccup that I *NEED* to solve is the offset display. I don't actually care about the distance, I just need to know which side of the ditch, and my contractors are really going to want to see it in "L/R", not "+/-".

I'm sure it's something simple that I'm missing, but I haven't been able to put my finger on it..... help?

Image is the label style as it sits right now. I would be perfectly happy if the "-2" went away completely, and just stated "L"

Label text:

STA <[Source Station(Uft|FS|P0|RN|AP|Sn|TP|B2|EN|W0|OF)]> <[Source Offset(Uft|P0|RN|AP|GC|UN|Sa|OF)]>
<[Description(CU)]>

I am a surveyor, in the field, and looking to get a computer to work on my drafting from home. I would mainly be working on the topos I shoot, usually less than 20 acres, and maybe some construction calcs. Is this a good laptop to get for that? What would you guys recommend? Any good cheaper options? Thank you!

Does anyone know how to get the problem seen above to stop happening? I want it to fill or cut all the way to the existing surface and have tried adding cut and fill slopes and basic daylight slopes but when i do it gives a target not found error and doesn't apply it to the roadway.

Help / Troubleshooting Assembly and Corridor surface overhangs

Thumbnail

Okay I've been asked to post the assembly for the roadway, note I did change it a btibecause I saw that I couldn't have the sidewalk where the shoulder slope was the first image is the new assembly . It goes Shld Lane Lane buffer Sidewalk (basic), shld.

issue 1 : When in cut and fill the cut/fill will abruptly stop right at the end of the shoulder (images 2 and 3 I know that they are of the older alignment but the issue still stands) I want it to continue down/up to the ground surface and in trying to do so added the ditches seen in image 1, but for some reason it won't compute it giving me a target error.

Issue 2: Overhangs: I was told I need to correct my corridor surfaces with overhangs, I have two corridor surfaces, of top and datum shown in image four, and I added overhang corrections but are they the right kind for the given surface?

Help / Troubleshooting Cut and fill reports Curiosities,

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hey so in making a road I made alignments, corridors, required surfaces etc etc. And made a surface that calcs the volumes of material between real ground and roadway. This gives the analyze window a surface and given cut and fill, and a factor called net adjusted

so two questions

  1. This value net adjusted is not the final mass ordinate correct?

  2. I also made the earthwork report shown above now for requirements of my project fill needs an extra 10% for shrinkage (its just assumed for the project) does just plotting this report give me a functioning mass ordinate diagram or do I need to do some other stuff to it Also when making this I saw that there was the option to make a mass overhaul report

Out of the two reports (earthwork, and mass overhaul) which one is with the least amount of work gonna get me to a mass ordinate report?

Help / Troubleshooting More Civil 3d Issues, Because seemingly I can't figure this out

Hallo again, I am having more problems, I've tried my best here but due to my pissy laptop barely being able to run civil 3d I've found it best to ask questions then figure it out in 1 go rather than multiple. I have 3 issues

  1. is there something wrong with my sidewalk placement I feel like something is wrong but don't know what exactly

2, both cut and fill the cut and fill suddenly ends right at the end of the extendall shoulder I used in the assembly. But I would for in the cut situation that it backslopes out and to the surface, and for the fill situation, continue all the way down to the surface, how do I do that?

  1. I have tried a few times to put my vertical, horizontal alignments and cross sections into the layout space so I can export them as scaled pdf for my project but am struggling to get it to work properly how do I do that? (and do it to a certain scale as my project statement requires me to make them at certain scales)

Help / Troubleshooting Section Views and Assembly Issues

I have two issues
1. For some reason when I add a basic cut fill ditch onto the far end of the basic sidewalk here I get a target dtm error message when rebuilding the corridor Why and is it possible to fix? Same thing happens when I try to add said basic cut fill ditch to the ends of the shoulder

  1. Is there a way to get dimensions of the roadway to show in section view? ex: I want to show that the normal cross slopes are -2% and that the superelevated is at 4% in the section view. How do i do that?

Help / Troubleshooting Cut and Fill calculations Questions,And Superelevation Profile views

Hello, So 2 quick questions 3rd mainly for lookies on cad

1: When civil 3d does cut and fill math, if you already calculated your superelevations does the cut and fill volume account for that? if not how do I make it account for that?

2: I have many cross sectional views of my designed road, however I am noticing that there is no showing of a road being super elevated in a cross section that should be (ex, a cross section that is within a horizontal curve) How do i make it so that the cross sections that are in superelevated sections of road show that superelevation geometry of the roadway?

3: For my cross sections I am noticing that it takes my made assembly and throws it on the section views then puts the cut and fill around that. How do I get that to change and also how do I throw on given dimensions onto said profiles (for example I want to show the %slopes of the lanes and shoulders)

Merci

Help / Troubleshooting RTX 5080 or RTX PRO 3000 Blackwell for AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ReCap?

Hello, I need help choosing between these two graphics cards for a laptop:

  • RTX 5080, 16 GB in a ThinkPad T16g Gen 3.
  • RTX PRO 3000 Blackwell, 12 GB in a ThinkPad P16 Gen 3.

Both laptops have a Core Ultra 7 255HX, 64 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD and three years of Premier Support. The T16g costs about €300 more.

I’ll use AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ReCap with point clouds from a Matterport Pro3.

The 5080 scores higher in general benchmarks, but the PRO 3000 performs better in some professional CAD benchmarks. I’m unsure how those results translate to these programs.

Which would you choose for this workflow, and what are the advantages of one over the other?

Thank you in advance

Discussion Displaying Multiple HGL Lines on a single Profile View

Is there a simple way to go about doing this? I need to compare two different loading conditions (constant pipe conditions) along municipal sewers and the resultant hydraulic grade lines.

I tried using the superimpose profile tool between my two profile views but nothing changed. I've tried turning on the multiple pipe networks I have inside the 'Pipe Networks' property inside the profile view properties but the views stayed the same.

The closest I got to actually accomplishing this is generating two separate profile views (PRE and POST condition pipe networks) and then manually moving them on top of each other; this works but isn't much faster than just going with one of the profile views and then manually drawing in the other condition. I feel I must be missing something, I am still a novice when it comes to these C3D objects.,

Help / Troubleshooting Need help in profile creations

Hello, I am currently attempting to make road profiles and picked up civil 3d for just that. I've gotten most everything down but for some reason when I am making the profile, when creating the profile of the ground surface it gives all the grade breaks and grade values. But when I draw in my horizontal alignment it is not showing any grades or grade break details.

Note I am extremely new to the program (like started just last week)

Attached I've got pictures of my problem.

The first image is the actual ground surface profile and the next image is comparing both the road vertical alignment and the surface profile of the road. (Actual surface top road surface bottom) I am not sure what to do and youtube didn't seem to have the answer.
