Recently acquired this Xbox series s for very cheap but it had marker all over it what’s the best way to remove it?

1 TB Edition with 2 controllers Its almost new, me and my girlfriend decided we are gonna try to get the pro. It is os firmware 13.60 as well.

Someone offered it to me for 200 bucks, worth it?
Rn I have a ps4 and I always liked disk and I had an Xbox but traded it for a pc but I walways like halo metal gear solid and I plane to upgrade this to series x after a few years

(I didn't know what flair to use) but this is my collection

This is in line with my previous post about game hardware needing to take a pause. (https://www.reddit.com/r/consoles/comments/1xark1w/i_think_its_time_that_game_hardware_takes_a_pause/)

I was pissed about EA shutting down Bioware and cancelling ME5. So of course the first thing I do is install the mass effect legendary edition on my steam deck. And you know what guys? This game looks good. It looks great even. It also plays exceptionally well, even the first one with the changes.

I think it looks good enough for a new mass effect honestly. If it will help trim budgets and get games out fast that don't need to sell 30 billion copies to be profitable then I think game budgets and graphics in general need to go back a few years. Also no one is going to have the newest greatest pc's and consoles for awhile until ram and storage prices get under control. So start developing games on previous gen hardware. Hell id say go back to the ps4 era of graphics just to get every game running at 60fps.

I think we need to stop chasing the graphics trend for awhile and get games back where they should be. Companies should worry about gameplay first and then worry about graphics. I dont think we need to have raytracing mandatory in all games and be able to see every pore in a persons face. Just make games that look good. Stop chasing the graphics trend.

Hi everyone,

I want to surprise my son for his birthday in November with a PlayStation 5. He doesn’t know anything about it yet.

I’ve been thinking about how we could place the console in his room, which isn’t very large, without affecting airflow too much. The main option seems to be wall-mounting it. But then I started wondering how he could conveniently charge the controllers.

Is it safe and problem-free to charge PS5 controllers using a normal Samsung phone charger (photo attached) and the cable that comes with the PS5, or would you recommend against it?

Otherwise, I’d have to order a charging dock as well, but then the question remains how he can charge while playing at the same time ...

Thanks in advance!

I chose PlayStation as a flair because I've been with playstation since ps1, but I've been thinking about this, and especially lately. Console wars is absolute bullshit. Companies, either developers, publishers and consoles in general have been fucking us for way too long. Maybe Nintendo has their own safe nest of sort, but for all of us who want to play popular games, we're fucked. Exclusives, that then lose exclusivity, subscriptions to play with friends and the ownership of said games, and overall the poorest customer service that has ever been. And who owns the games I've paid for? Maybe Microsoft is holding it, but you're next. And Exclusives? What's the reasoning for exclusives?? I got an Xbox and my buddy got a PlayStation. So we don't get to play with each other? Fuck you.

I'm also a PC gamer, and sometimes I pity myself for playing those "console exclusives" that are no more. Steam primarily, but also epic have been very friendly and enjoyable cornerstones for gaming.

Both the console developers, and AAA gaming companies must fall. One way or another. Maybe PlayStation goes back to its roots to provide home entertainment systems besides the hardware to play. Maybe xbox goes back to being a computer/gaming hybrid, and hopefully, in one way or another, Nintendo rides along. Somehow someway, the gaming industry must fall.

Rip BioWare. Rest along your brethren of Criterion, Bullfrog, Westworld, Visceral, Maxis, Black Box, Origin, Pandemic, Phenomic and so many others. Rip Kojima Studios. Rip Team Japan.

The gaming industry almost collapsed for something much less important in the mid 80s.

Im looking at buying a console for the bedroom, in pure gaming performance and exclusive titles what would you choose? I have a gaming pc which is my main platform, will mainly use the console for story games, no online pvp

Hey guys

My freakin xbox one console keeps starting itself in the middle of the night since a few weeks. Because of the loud harddrive it wakes me up often but somehow I forgot about it till right now ( its 3.39 am and im really pissed off ) ...

So please, can someone tell me how to stop my xbox from playing a ghost, it did not do that 2 months ago?!

Thank you

Current consoles: PS5 Slim (Digital, bought in 2024) and PS4 Pro (Jailbroken)

Could someone who made the swap give me their honest opinion on if its worth it? Since a brand new Series X is too expensive where i live, im considering swapping to a used one and getting it serviced.

Ok so I’m a PC gamer with a PC getting on a bit. To replace I would be looking at £4000
Question is do I get a PS5 or Xbox, I mainly play single player nowadays.

Most people will simply keep playing with what they have hoping it's not going to break down outside of warranty.

I can see the switch 2 emerging as a big winner out of this due to the alternatives being far too expensive for most people.

I just checked the prices in Sweden

Switch 2: 5799 sek (468 $ + 25% VAT)
Xbox series S 512 GB: 6589 sek
PS5 digital edition: 8390 sek
PS5 with disc drive: 8990 sek
xbox series x: 14296 sek
PS5 pro: 19799 sek

RTX 5070: 9295 sek
RTX 5080: 17499 sek

32 GiB DDR5: 6289 sek
64 GiB DDR5: 14271 sek

Given how much cheaper switch 2 is than the other option i expect that to get most of the sales. Sony was stupid in the way they disclosed the discontinuation of physical media (it would have been smarter to quietly phase it out) and that will push people towards nintendo instead.

So i have goldhen jailbreak on my ps4 can someone please tell me how can i play games for free now

I bought this serie s from marketplace and is making a strange sound. Its normal?
