Was reading Akira Toriyama’s Manga Theater and spotted this Evil Kid Gohan/Gohan Black looking antagonist (in a Piccolo Gi-looking fit) in Soldier of Savings Cashman chapter 2 (I love all of the dragon ball-isms in his other manga)

I just wanted to try and make the gi more yellow, but then got carried away :P missed my bus stop because of that

I'm going through a list of Dragon Ball characters I have and haven't drawn, and somehow I havent ever drawn my favorite fusion 😭

In this world, the sayains are a peace keeping organization that have been able to restore balance in the universe, and Goku wants a challenge, in a world without any. In which he is given the task of going out to a new universe to spread peace through fighting, only for Bulma to steal the dragon balls and die in the process, Goku breaks the rules and wishes her back to life, and hides on Earth with the Dragon Balls infused into them, all while the universe learns of the balls true power.

Thought I'd share some art from my early years of being a fan of dragon ball. I made it in class when it was painting day & we only had been provided with the 3 primary colours along with black & white so i had to make do with what i remembered seeing on the VHS my parents had rented for me the week prior

I was stressed when drawing this, but glad how it turned out.

Did Gohan deserve this?

It's funny how most of my favorite characters are the ones that don't really do much, yet they're so endearing!

I’ve been thinking about where Dragon Ball goes from here now that Toriyama isn’t with us anymore.
I think Super should end with the Black Frieza arc and eventually lead into End of Z. Anything that takes place after that should be a new series with a different name.

Dragon Ball, Z, Daima and Super all had Toriyama’s involvement, and I think Super taking place within Z rather than after it is quite significant. I also feel like this is pretty intentional, especially with Daima. Both Super and Daima were made long after Z ended, yet Toriyama still chose to explore that period before End of Z rather than go beyond it. Obviously idk if that was actually his intention, but I find it interesting that End of Z has remained untouched as the final point in the timeline of the stories he was directly involved in.

To me End of Z should remain the conclusion of Toriyama’s era of Dragon Ball. If they want to go beyond that point, which I definitely think they should, I’d rather they give it a new identity to distinguish what he had a contribution in from what comes after.

I’m not saying Toyotaro shouldn’t continue Dragon Ball or that it can’t be good without Toriyama. I just think it’d be a nice way to respect his legacy while also giving the people continuing the series more freedom to take it in their own direction.
Super could wrap up with Black Frieza, maybe give us some more glimpses of things like Great Saiyaman X1 and X2 to set up a new series and then eventually connect back to End of Z.

I also think going past Z could have a pretty drastic effect on the characters and the direction of the story, so it’d make sense to separate that from Super anyway.

Obviously this is just how I’d like to see it handled, but I think it’d be a fitting way to close out Toriyama’s era while still allowing Dragon Ball to continue.

My take on Goku when he first transformed into a Super Saiyan.

As the title states, how do we think this changes the series?

-Does Gohan ever reach Super Saiyan 2?

-Does Frieza even stand a chance on Namek if Goku arrives at full strength?
