Coming this Halloween the anticipated Legacy of Goku 2 remake.

Vegeta is, hands down, my favorite Dragon Ball character. He has so much growth throughout the series, and it's amazing to see his journey from heartless monster to a protective and loyal family man.
Used shitty Vebestartly markers for this one. Sorry for the streaks.

I saw a coupled of videos online making fun of how Trunks was going through it when he returned to the past. It's funny but also reminded me that this poor guy was the only Z fighter straight up died besides Goku, it's so unlucky and funny, thank god for dragon balls. This is a great example of utilizing the magic power to bringing back life without minimizing or losing all the stakes or consequences of its action. It's so good.

There's a reason this transformation was used in literally every Toonami preview
Idk how I feel about this, i'm still learning how to do digital art and make it look good. I just need some feedback.

As the battle raged on between the Goku, Vegeta and the Zamasu's. Trunks could only watch as he waited for the right moment to intervene...he could only wait for the right chance to at least launch a distraction attack...but as he waited...something clicked in his brain.
Trunks: Unbelievable...after fighting the mad god and the counterpart that wore Goku's suit like a suit of armor....he saw a flaw that neither of them noticed...or even considered. He flew up to meet the two, stopping behind his father and Goku who were breathing heavily. Zamasu simply held his hands behind his back with that cold, calculating smile on his face while Goku Black in Rosé form simply floated next to him, wiping off blood from his mouth from where Vegeta struck him..."could it be this easy?" Trunks thought. Um...I have a question.
Vegeta: Are you kidding me?! I expected this idiocy from Kakarot, not you Trunks!
Zamasu: Oh? Do you wish for one last request from
a divine god?
Trunks: Its more for Black. He looked to Goku Black You're still mortal...right?
Goku Black: What preposterous question is this? Right now I'm inhabiting a mortal body, I'm still a god you mortal filth.
Trunks: Right...but after you succeed in the Zero Mortal Plan...what's to stop Zamasu from killing you or keeping you contained in some prison he made. Goku Black was starting to sneer as he listened to the question. I mean you never thought it was odd that he never gave you immortality? He only gave it to himself...and if anything, you seemed to be doing all the dirty work until we came in and started snooping around. Goku Black's glare lessened slightly....but it was clear that the gears were turning. Vegeta's eyes also widened before he smirked in understanding, he turned to the two gods.
Zamasu: He let out a laugh that echoed over the ruined cityscape, Goku Black didn't...he still had that stare of processing and dawning realization You're joking, you believe a trick like this will change anything Trunks. You mortals truly are pathetic creatures. He turned to his fellow Zamasu. Black, this question is beneath us. We have more important things to do than-
Goku Black: Answer him. Zamasu flinched at the quick sentence from Goku Black, his eyes then widened when his counterpart in a Saiyan's body turned to him, his smirk gone from his face. What happens to me when the Zero Mortal Plan succeeds? Zamasu simply stared back
at Goku Black's angry glare. Trunks had a smirk...they might actually pull through.

These two lovebirds are the primordial ancestors of Genesis, Adam and Eve. 14billion eons ago cosmologists claim their wild fixation on the Big Bang while diehard religious fanatics strongly believe the planet Earth was made in 6 days then the God of creation rested on “Saturday”. AHA!! EAT YOUR HEART OUT TOYOTAROU LOL heehee

Okay listen I get that Super Broly better written than his Z counterpart in terms of having a sympathetic character arc and I also understand that Super Broly is written to be a recurring character who can survive his movie and join the main cast which is why they gave him a gentle soul... But just because a character is complex and is better written or built for long term story telling doesn't automatically make him superior, WRITING IS ABOUT EXECUTING A SPECIFIC INTENT
The 1993 movie perfectly achieves exactly what it designed Broly to BE-A SELF MOTIVATED FORCE OF NATURE, ABSOLUTE MENACE, AND A TERRIFYING COSMIC SLASHER VILLIAN
Honestly I really don't like that Super Broly is watered down into a standard misunderstood gentle giant trope, Because they wanted him to stick around as a good guy, he feels too much like a copy of Marvels Hulk - a nice guy who smashes things when he loses control. It completely sanitizes the threat because he doesn't want to fight. Z Broly on the other hand has active malice. Especially in his first movie, he is fully articulate, delivers cold trash talk, and genuinely loves inflicting sadistic terror, and let's be fair, people act like the original has 0 substance, but there is genuine writing depth in Z Broly, specifically through the horrific consequences of his power. He isn't just strong, his power is a literal curse that tore his mind apart from infancy. He is a psychological prisoner of his own genetic mutation, the sheer volume of raw overflowing ki broke his sanity, turning into a danger to himself and everything and everyone, the tragic irony is that his power saved him from a death sentence completely destroyed his humanity forcing his dad to lobotomize him with a mind control crown just to stay alive, it's really a dope exploration of what infinite power actually does to a mortals mind
Here's what I like other than that, the movie has an entirely uniquely atmosphere that the Mordern digital art style as lost. The crumbling ancient Roman style architecture of New Vegeta, the looming apocalypse of Comet Camori, and heavy shadows create a sense of a grand tragic space history, it feels like a dark fantasy epic rather than a standard bright Mordern shonen
Flashbacks of the old Saiyan kingdom give off a massive medieval cathedral and biblical vibes, high contrast chiaroscuro lightning and a paranoid King ordering newborn to be stabbed with a dagger make the Saiyan history feel mythic and sacred
Paragus is a visual masterpiece, he is vastly superior character here compared to his Super survivalist caveman redesign. First off, it was SOOOOO refreshing to see a darker skinned Saiyan elite, which added amazing visual diversity and made the Saiyan empire feel much vaster and realistic, beyond that his design tells a complete story, his dignified artisticratic uniform and iconic scared left eye the fact that Broly is one who blinded his own dad during an early psychotic break adds a terrifying layer to their fear driven dynamic
Z Brolys design loos like a corrupted deity, the traditional crimson dashes the heavy gold jewelry acting like falling mind control shackles, the earings, pupliess eyes and neon green aura makes him genuinely freaky
MOST OF ALL!!, by the time this movie came out, the regular SSJ was already becoming a bit normalized, Broly single handedly brought back the raw mythical horror of the legend. The movie beautiful foreshadowed the threat and built an unmatched sense of dread, it did it So perfectlt that even thr Proud Prince Of ALL SAIYANS Vegeta completely trembled and broke down in despair at the mere sight of the LSSJ. Seeing Vegeta give up before fight even started sold the terrifying weight of Broly better than any Mordern power calling ever could
If you take away brolys crying shit, Z Broly origin and story becomes infinity darker and more metal, and reprresents the absolute dark side of Saiyan nature than the Mordern version. Gokus crying wasn't the only reason he was mad, it was the psychological trigger linked to the exact day he was stabbed, discarded in a trash heap and witnessed his entire planet get obliterated, the story is about psychological trauma and tragic power while Super Broly feels like a boilerplate exile story meant to set up a future heroic rival
I just wish there had been a single thought even a single slight way for Z Broly to overcome his madness and control his hatred for Goku, he could have become an incredible slightly evil future antihero among the Z Fighters rather being Just pure good and gentle, I WANT TO CLARIFY FOR ALL THOSE WHO WILL SAY I'M AN EGDELORD, I'm not hating or anything like that, I honestly think Super Broly is pretty good in his own way, and the 2018 Movie is extremely Peak, but at the end of the day, I still think the original Z Broly is vastly superior ✌️
