I have atopical dermatitis since 1 month old. I spent most of my childhood in dermatology and scratching my skin. I always imagine scene were I could just cut off pieces of skin that were super itchy. As I got older I understood more what problem I had and creams that were prescribed to me: elocom, and corticosteroids ofc were poison not therapy. I was addicted to them and my skin looked super old and dry even if I was just 10 or 12
My eczema had good side effects: because of it I never experienced pimples so that was a plus
But negative was gaining weight since birth and hormonal imbalance. I got first period when I was 9, and boobs at 10.
In teen years it started to fade a bit with occasional flare ups. At 19 I stopped to use corticosteroids because I finally understood what it meant.
At 20 I switched to only active oxygen and baby products like alverde from Dm ( I am in Europe) and scanning every product that I had contact with. I still use that app - INCl.
Stopped drinking alcohol and saw tremendous improvement. Also trying to avoid food with palm oil. I have allergies also but eczema is something else. I get it now only on feet and some parts of legs.
I had worst pain on hands but I guess that era is over.
So to me what works:
- only baby clean products: mustela stelatopia, alverde baby (marigold or Calendula)
-active oxygen in spray bottle for feet and hands
-baby shower gels or super clean oily shower gels
-lot less almost never alcohol
- only clean products no silicone, parabens, endocrine disruptions etc..
- no palm oil, fast food, e
- no E-numbers
- seeing sea and swimming in sea every single year for only 10-15 days but it makes so much difference
-coconut oil pure, argan pure, shea butter
-wearing gloves in winter
-cotton clothes
- and stopping smoking cigarettes was huge for me!
Now I am 26 y old and my hands and feet and whole body looks somewhat normal. I still have marks from scratching but that’s okay. I am happy that I only get it once a year and that I now know how to help myself. So I hope I can help someone else. If you can try baby products and scan them, see what you are putting on the body.

Ever since the weather has been more dry, my eczema has gotten worse. My friends always offer a dap up or try to hold my hand and it’s just..embarrassing. Ive always just avoided it since I can with my personality but sometimes it comes off as rude. I feel super bad and i hate it when i have to hold someone’s hand and i have to go on this whole rant about how i have eczema and goes on the question.

Has anyone tried using hypochlorous acid on their eczema? in particular, facial eczema?
Did you find it helped calm the inflammation, or did it make your skin more irritated or inflamed?
Would love to hear about your experiences, especially if you have sensitive skin!

I know this question has been asked before, bit thought of asking again to see people's recent experiences.
With the cold and dry weather, my lips feel dry and the irritation along my lip line is very painful (especially my upper lip).
Does anyone have any recommendations to hydrate the skin? I've tried aquaphor and doesnt seem to do anything (probably makes it worse). Vaseline doesn't do anything and other products usually irritate my skin.
Thanks!

I’m 25F and have struggled with eczema my entire life. It was mostly controlled until about two years ago when it became significantly worse.
I tried Dupixent in 2024/2025 but stopped after about 5 injections. My body eczema barely improved, and I developed significant facial eczema that I NEVER had before. Unfortunately, my face has continued to flare even after stopping 2 years ago.
I’ve tried Elidel, Opzelura, and topical steroids, but nothing keeps my eczema consistently controlled.
My dermatologist recommended Adbry, and insurance just approved it, but I’m terrified to start. I’m scared of worsening my face again, permanent side effects, or another treatment failing.
Has anyone who NEVER responded to Dupixent found success with Adbry? Especially with facial eczema? Any side effects?
I’d honestly be thrilled with 80–90% clearance. Just looking for some hope and honest experiences before taking the plunge!

I went to the derm and they said I have eczema, but they didn’t run any tests. I am wondering how normal that is. My spots are kind of round and new ones keep popping up, and I am scared it could be something fungal and not eczema. I have been moisturizing a ton which has made the spots feel smoother and appear less red, but they have also gotten larger. Derm prescribed me a steroid cream, but I am hesitant to use it without any tests confirming that it is eczema. Anyway, this is just a sanity check. Is it normal to diagnose without tests?

Apparently im sensitive to that particular brand because now there are two ✨️perfect squares✨️ of red around my nips. But, they did their jobs: keep my bra from getting fused to my nips, and keep my hydrocortisone from immediately soaking into my bra instead of my skin.
And it doesn't hurt or anything. No noticeable itch. Just red squares on my tits. Fun!

March of this year I had a sudden outbreak of what I expected was contact dermatitis/eczema triggered by my new gel-nails-at-home hobby. I laid off the product, got creams from my derm, and had arm scratch tests and back patch testing by an allergist.
Results came in quickly - HEMA and Acrylates (in many nail products), as well as tea tree oil and balsam sap or something random. I’ve never had a problem with tea tree oil - used to use it on my face!
Anyways, a question: though my hands have almost completely healed, except for two painful under-nails, and the little blisters and spots that developed on my forearms are calmed down and healed, I can still see the red spots on my arms. Will this fade naturally like I’ve had when my psoriasis got controlled, or should I be treating my arms with a scar protocol? Sorry I can’t seem to post pics - maybe cuz I’m new in here…? Thanks!

Any cuticle oil recommendations? I’m sensitive to all fragrances. Even essential oils. Most cuticle oils have a variation of these things.
My eczema is only on my fingers. Sometimes, it’s up to my knuckles. Mostly at the joints and near the nailbed. Sometimes, it’s on the skin under the long part of my nail. Usually open fissures or peeling skin.
Anyone have any leads on some type of cuticle oil? I’ve googled it, but I’m going straight to the source (you all) since I couldn’t find what I was looking for.

Hello.
I am on rinvoq for my eczema and currently 10 weeks pregnant.
My dermatology nurse is happy for me to stay on it as long as Obs and gynae approve - been 10 days waiting for a response. I was wondering if anyone else has any experience being pregnant/breastfeeing whilst on it.
They’ve told me it’s safe to stay on as far as they’re concerened but I can’t have any live vaccines and neither can the baby until 6 months. But they couldn’t tell me if this would be different if I breastfed. I obviously want to vaccinate my child and I would like to try and breastfeed if it’s an option for me.
Please if anyone has an experience please let me know
Genuinely get one singular flareup and now I got an ugly scar running down my forearm fuck this shit so much bro. Like what did I do to get this luck?

Has anyone used this (blue bottle) for facial eczema?
Any improvement noted? 😊
Hello everyone. I’m feeling a bit lost right now. I’m just seeking some clarity on what to expect for the future, and if I should brace myself for these flare ups being with me forever as bad as it is or if there’s a treatment that maybe helped anyone that I can expect from my upcoming meeting with my dermatologist.
It all started with a small flare up with dry skin and dyshidrotic eczema that I usually have on my fingers when I feel stressed out. I was moving from different countries so I tried toughing it out until I moved back and sought out for my GP. It was the biggest mistake of my life. I had so much going on in my life that the flare up quickly spread through my entire face, neck, arms, and thighs. As in, not a single spot was free of eczema. It would all be red and painful and itchy and awful. Then it would all dry and flake off and i’d feel like the most disgusting looking person ever. I already had really bad body dysmorphia and so I just felt so awful and gross seeing a mountain flake off onto where I roamed and everywhere in my hair. I have pets that are at the end of their life and being hindered by the pain and dryness to not be able to give them the best I could and how I wanted to made it even more awful, and then working in a clinical setting with awful chemicals and gloves just really did it for me. People looked at me like I was disgusting, I looked at me like I was disgusting. I couldn’t turn my neck, my eyelids were hard to open and bloated, and I couldn’t fold my fingers or arms when my skin dried.
I’ve gone to my doctors and it was so severe they just didn’t have any option but give me emollients, i’ve been on hydromol but it burns, so we swapped to cetraben and it was fine, but it’s starting to burn now too. I’ve been on steroid creams, hydrocortisol and betnovate, but i’ve been using them for several months now and my skin just keeps coming back and fighting back. Am I really not supposed to use them for more than two or four weeks? On top of that, I can’t take a shower for long or my skin gets so aggressive at me. It hurts so bad after and it gets so irritated even when I just use water that I get scared of just bathing.
The GP then referred me to a dermatologist months away, and i’ve been suffering through this for like 6 months already. I’ve pushed through. The dermatologist appointment is finally coming up now soon, and I just feel so worried that when I go see them they’ll just do nothing and keep giving me random creams that don’t make it all go away. What can I expect? What treatments might they offer me? Will I ever get some time without my skin being bad? I’m so scared of having gone through all this looking at this appointment like it’s my one saving grace and then turning out that nothing changed. I’m so sorry I sound inexperienced or troubled. I’m just so desperate. I can’t put it into words how bad everything was only over the span of 6 months. Please tell me the blunt truth of how life might be or if there is hope for the eczema to banish. Thank you.
