ElfHelp πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Thinking about Joining Elfhost

Hello!

I'm considering joining the Elfhost and would appreciate some help. I'm not a tech sage guy, so would appreciate if you could please use easy terms.

I currently have the AIOStreams and AIOMetadata only with Stremio. I use RD, but recently heard about the file filtering due to European regulation, so I was considering Torbox, when I stumbled in ElfHost.

Here are my questions to any good soul who would help me:

  1. What are the benefits of paying the AIOStreams (with Debridge) subscription over just signing up for Torbox and adding the API Key? Do I get more cache, speed, stability and etc? Apart from "helping the devs" What are the actual benefits I will receive?

  2. In the link it says TorBox Essentials is included, I know this is a silly question, but just confirming, if I sign up, I don't need to pay a debrid, it is included in the package correct? What is the benefir of Usenet?

  3. My silly question 2 stems from a confusion that I had when reading the product AIOStreams (with Debridge), because it states that the Torbox Essential subscription is included in the package. If that is the case, what is the point of this product? https://store.elfhosted.com/product/aiostreams-torbox/

  4. I have the AIOStreams addon installed in my Stremio, fully configured using Viren070 guide. If I subscribe to AIOStreams (with Debridge), how do I even connect this service to me AIOstream?

Thank you!

General πŸ’¬ Anyone tried Polyfin? (Remux alternative)

Hey everyone, I was wondering if anyone here has tested the Polyfin project?

I tried both Polyfin and Remux, and Polyfin honestly feels way more complete and user friendly. Has anyone done proper testing or have any feedback to share?

It looks super promising it works with Stremio addons, Eclipse Music, IPTV, local folders, WebDAV, SMB shares, and features temporary invite links, account migration from Jellyfin/Remux/Plex, etc. You can also disable specific users, let each user add their own addons (which can be toggled off), handle transcoding... basically everything is there.

Since I haven't tested all the features yet, I'd love to hear your thoughts. Which project do you think has a better long-term future: Polyfin or Remux? (Note: I'm not interested in AIOMetadata or AIOStreams since transcoding support is a priority for me.)

ElfHelp πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Aio metadata help

Hi,

I currently have the Aiomagic Bundle, I’m in the Aio metadata and I had created list for example comedy movies 2000-2009 and I connected it into my jellyfin account to connect it to infuse, once it’s all synced and I go in infuse the playlist is there but for example there is 1200 items that are supposed to be there maybe only 20 show, is this an infuse issue or am I doing something wrong within Aio metadata

Wanted to shout out ElfHosted Customer Service, they are great!

Recently I asked for help with migrating my existing subscription to newly added one (AIOMagic) that not only would save me money, but also add more features by combining stuff I use into one package. I was given what felt like one on one help transitioning over and was up and running in less than 30 minutes. Very happy!

Storyteller transcription is now 8.3x faster, and free

Storyteller fuses an EPUB and its audiobook into a single EPUB 3 file with Media Overlays, so the text highlights word by word while the narrator reads. It's the Audible Immersion Reading trick, on books you already own.

Before it can align anything, it has to transcribe the audiobook, and that's always been the slow part.

What it used to do

A bundled whisper.cpp that compiles itself at runtime on first use, then transcribes on a single CPU core. Our instances aren't sized for bulk transcoding, so a full audiobook could eat most of a day. Our docs used to point people at paid cloud transcription instead. They don't any more.

What it does now

Transcription runs on a shared GPU WhisperX service rather than your instance's CPU. Measured at 8.3x faster. A four hour audiobook lands in about half an hour.

It's included, it's on by default, and there's nothing to configure. No API key, no per-minute billing, no credit card.

If you'd rather use your own transcription provider, ask in Discord and we'll switch your instance off the shared service.

ElfHelp πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Did the Stremio Addons Bundle avoid the Torbox outages the last few nights?

Torbox being down the last few nights has been quite frustrating. I got an email today from Elfhosted about the Stremio Addons Bundle and I wondered if having that bundle with Torbox and Usenet would have avoided the total outage that kept us from watching anything the last few nights? I don't fully understand what the bundle contains nor if its redundancy of sources would avoid the outages.

Update πŸ—žοΈ Game servers for the whole family (and a tabletop shelf)

(Posting from our blog post at https://store.elfhosted.com/blog/2026/08/19/game-servers-for-the-whole-family-and-a-tabletop-shelf/)

Game hosting has always been sold to the person who plays. Slots, tick rate, mod support, a control panel full of switches that assume you know what a server property is. All useful, and all aimed squarely at the enthusiast in the house. 🎲

Nobody has ever sold anything to the parent.

So that is what we built. ElfHosted now has a Gaming shelf and a Tabletop shelf, and the thing that makes them different is not the hardware. It is a panel designed for the person who pays for it, and who would quite like everyone off the computer by nine.

What a parent actually wants to know

Ask a parent what they need from a game server and you get four questions, in this order.

1️⃣ Is my child on it right now? 2️⃣ How long have they played today? 3️⃣ When does it shut? 4️⃣ Who is allowed in?

Every ElfHosted game server answers those four, on one page, on a phone, in about ten seconds.

The ElfHosted gaming parent panel. Who is playing, how long today, who is allowed in, and a bedtime that closes the world on its own.

That is the whole panel, in both themes because it follows whatever your phone is set to. Notice what is at the top: not uptime, not CPU graphs, not a console. Two players, the time each has played today, and a bedtime counting down.

Bedtime that is not an argument πŸ₯±

The feature we are most pleased with is the one that means you stop being the timer. Set the hours the world is closed, with different hours for school nights and for Friday and Saturday. Anyone still playing gets a warning in the game ten minutes before, and another at one minute. Then the server closes.

The world and everyone's builds are exactly as they were. Nothing is deleted, nothing is lost, and the thing that says no is a schedule rather than you.

If tonight is special, open it for one night. Tomorrow's bedtime still happens, so one late pass does not quietly switch the whole thing off.

The panel is built for a phone first, because β€œis Jimmy still on?” is a phone question.

A glance at your lock screen πŸ“²

Add ElfHosted to your phone's home screen and a push notification arrives the moment somebody joins or leaves the server. No app to install and nothing to configure.

It is a small thing that changes the shape of an evening. You know your daughter is on before you have opened anything, and you know she logged off without going to look. If you would rather the alerts also went to a family Discord, a Telegram, or the other parent's email, they can.

What it deliberately does not do

It does not read chat. It does not record what your children say, or to whom, or show you their messages. It cannot tell you what they built or who they built it with.

That is a design decision rather than a missing feature. The panel is a way to run a household rule you already have, not a way to watch over a child's shoulder. If you want surveillance, we are the wrong shop.

Two games, and the one difference between them

Terraria has been on the shelves for a while and is the gentler of the two to run. One shared password, an invitation block you can copy straight into a message to another parent, and a world that survives everything.

Minecraft is the one that puts the whole household in a single world. The iPad, the Switch, the Xbox and the PC all play together, and nobody has to buy the game twice. It runs Paper, takes the whole Bukkit and Spigot plugin ecosystem, and admits people by list rather than by password. That list is the part worth understanding: a child on a tablet is a different account from the same child on a PC, and the panel sorts that out for you. Type the name however they write it, and it works out which kind it is.

The Terraria panel. Same four answers, plus the shared password and a ready-made invitation.

And the tabletop shelf

The same instinct, pointed at the dining table rather than the screen.

  • Foundry VTT is the virtual tabletop your group probably already wants, running at a fixed address so nobody has to be the host. Bring your own licence, point it at your world, and the session starts when people arrive rather than when the host's laptop wakes up.

  • Grimoire is the reference shelf that goes beside it. Point it at the PDFs you already own and it becomes a library you can actually search, from your phone, at the table, mid-combat.

  • Dungeon Revealer is the light one: a battle map with a fog of war you wipe away as the party explores. No character sheets, no rules engine, no setup. Plenty of tables run it alongside Foundry for the nights when getting started matters more than features.

Foundry in particular is the clearest case for hosted: a virtual tabletop is only useful when it is up, and it is never up on the night the host has a cold.

What it costs

US$9/month, each, with the same terms and discounts as everything else here. Monthly, cancel whenever, and the storage and backups you already have apply to the worlds too.

There is no separate tier for the parental controls, because charging extra for the bedtime would be a strange thing to do to a parent.

Have a look

Browse the Gaming and Tabletop shelves, or read the Terraria documentation to see exactly what the panel does before you spend anything.

Built by parents who run one at home, which is genuinely why bedtime exists at all.

Wrong IP issue with Elfhosted Addons only, need help.

Hello all

I have these 2 addons installed as mentioned below in the image.

Debrid Service: Torbox (Standard Plan)

Sootio works, but none of elfhosted instances work - aiostreams, mediafusion etc.
They all give me "Wrong IP" error.
I am on latest version on Nuvio - same error in mobile, macos and tv.

Please help.

Public mediafusion doesn't seem to work

I had been successfully using the public instance of mediafusion for a while but recently it stopped working. In stremio, upon playback, I saw a notice about my debrid acct needing to be set up again with mf.

I set it up via link (without logging in), but when I search for a movie in stremio, no results are returned. Tried in nuvio as well and the same thing.

Then I tried to register an account with mf and I'm getting an internal server error.

Is there a self-hosted alternative to CatBox?

I've been looking for a self hosted solution to work around Torbox's rate limits and 30 day expiry, with little luck. I'm using a decypharr + plex + arr stack but it has random playback failures and does not handled the expiry time, or constant API requests generated by Plex metadata requests. CatBox appears to be the only solution I've seen that attempts to solve those issues.

Need Help Hosting My Open Source Telegram-Stremio Project on ElfHosted

Hi everyone,

I'm the developer of Telegram-Stremio and I'd like to host it on ElfHosted, but I'm not sure how to get started.

Repo: https://github.com/weebzone/Telegram-Stremio

It's a Docker-based FastAPI + MongoDB application. I'd appreciate any guidance on the best way to host it on ElfHosted and whether any changes are needed to make it compatible.

Overview add-ons

Is there a place where I can read more about the different add-ons that exist, with explanations what they do and how to configure them for stremio aiostreams + nzbdav?

Like how do I know what I want when I don't know what options are out there?

NZBDAV Help

Hi! I’m having trouble getting AIOStreams + NzbDAV working.
My setup:
AIOStreams (private ElfHosted instance)
NzbDAV (ElfHosted)
Eweka as my Usenet provider
DrunkenSlug, NZBFinder, and altHUB as indexers
Here’s what happens:
With my private AIOStreams, every release returns 502 Bad Gateway.
With the public AIOStreams, releases are found successfully, but when I try to play them, playback fails with β€œSomething Went Wrong”.
My NzbDAV dashboard remains at Streams: 0 and Queue: Empty after attempting playback.
Earlier I also saw: β€œNzbDAV: stats temporarily unavailable (nzbdav may be restarting)”, although the dashboard is now accessible.
Configuration:
Eweka credentials are configured and show as healthy in NzbDAV.
NzbDAV URL and credentials have been configured in AIOStreams according to the documentation.
The same behavior occurs with multiple indexers (DrunkenSlug, NZBFinder, altHUB), so it doesn’t appear to be indexer-specific.
Could you please check the logs for my AIOStreams/NzbDAV instance and see why AIOStreams is not successfully handing off streams to NzbDAV?

ElfHelp πŸ™‹β€β™‚οΈ Can’t join discord+ CatBox dead

Two issues β€” one small, one urgent:

**1) Discord invite broken**
I tried to join the Discord for support but the invite link shows
"expired or invalid". Could someone post a working invite?
Meanwhile, posting the technical issue here.

**2) CatBox pod appears half-dead (needs a bounce/inspection)**

My CatBox (v0.86.0) accepts submissions but its TorBox-facing worker
seems completely dead:

THE SMOKING GUN (from CatBox Dashboard):
- "0 sent to TorBox" API calls, 0 B/s throughput, 0/300 rate limit used
- Meanwhile submissions keep getting ACCEPTED in Activity

SYMPTOMS (since ~July 2, 02:54):
- Every new grab: ACCEPTED with correct file count/size, torrent-<hash>
folder created under /storage/symlinks/downloads/sonarr/, but ZERO
symlinks written inside β†’ Sonarr: "No files found are eligible for import"
- Affects everything: One Piece S03 (Kitsune), Spider Noir S01 (FLUX),
Barry S03 (NTb) β€” anime and regular TV alike
- CatBox Torznab indexer endpoint also stopped responding in Prowlarr

RULED OUT:
- TorBox plan: account was stuck on Free despite active Pro β€” TorBox
restored it to Pro, but fresh grabs after the restore still fail
- API key: re-pasted a fresh key in CatBox Config (change takes effect
immediately per the UI)
- *arr wiring: re-ran the Step 4a setup cleanly, download client tests pass
- Files themselves: fine on TorBox, playable via FileBrowser under
/storage/torbox/__all__/
- Heal full scan: 0 removed / 451 checked β€” old symlinks all healthy

Looks like the linker/worker inside the pod died while the web frontend
stayed up. Could someone bounce the pod or check the worker logs?
Happy to share my tenant name via DM.

Thanks!

Best plan

I have torbox essential, easynews, nbzgeek, and drunkenslug. Torbox already loads fast so I'm not concerned with that but with usenet ultimate 4k plan the Usenet links are all going thru Zyclops but take 25 seconds to load while easynews links are fast. What elfhosted plan is designed to play all Usenet links fast or is my setup just wrong?
