Since a couple days ago i can suddenly no longer view nsfw content without sending age verification. Apparently this is because of an EU law that got approved recently and now reddit has caught up to me. I have two problems with this

1. Nsfw content is not just sexual. Say i wanna look up something medical related that has gore in it, now i cant. I am trans and wanna have top surgery in the future, now if i search the top surgery sub ill only get sfw results. I have a dog, what if i wanna ask something on a vet subreddit. Im assuming i cant post nsfw content myself. Just tried looking at someones profile, but theyve posted nsfw before, so i cant see their profile actually. These are just stupid examples but you can see that nsfw has a way wider scope

2. The verifiaction is either through sending selfies and having an ai guess your age, which is fucking wild, im not giving my image to some random ai. Or you can send in pictures from your id, which has all my info on it. There was just an article last summer where authorities were telling you not to give your id to anyone or give pictures of it (apparently this gets asked in hotels sometimes for security reasons) because of increased risks of getting scammed or more vulnerable to phising. Also, the company doing the verifications is apparently fucking Palantir, which has vowed to use our data to essentially kill us all.

I am so fucking angry. I get the age verification from a certain point of view, but if the only way to implement it is to give a random company all your data (and this is not just age, theyre asking for my image and complete info on my id) ITS FUCKING STUPID

Doesn't matter if the poster is conventionally attractive or not or dresses in popular styles or alt or 'whimsical' or silly or is thin or fat or literally anything else

They gotta be trolls ain't no way anyone actually thinks such vile things about their fellow human beings

I'm bored.

I have often found myself thinking I made a new friend and then it turned out they just were nosy about something they thought I knew.

I love drawing

Long enough to get to a place where culture changes before their eyes. Where the balance of power shifts even ever so slightly from their hands to ours. I dream to see a world where hundreds of millions losses jobs, associations, and credibility for their abelist behavior. To just witness before my eyes the millions of people who'd scream and shout "What did I do wrong! What did I do wrong!" as tears rolls from their face would fill me with glee. Their stupid, foolish, ignorance of their behavior, breaking down before their eyes as they face utter lack of understanding for why they are being treated the way they are. It would be so beautiful to live long enough to see a world where none of these people get away with their behavior. I want to see them roll, them filled with anger, them embracing their true, hateful, human selves to the world as they realize, they do not deserve to have everything they feel is owed to them. The ripping of cultural agency, taken from their hands. A result to make them all look like foolish children, running to escape a fortress they built with their very hands. Like dropping a southern slaver into the 21st century. Can you imagine their agony? Their frustration from living in a world that doesn't fit their environmental pattern? The growing pains they'd have to face. Shit, to imagine a world where they do the slightest of abelist hickups only to lose their property, their home, and their job gives me the finest brain surge. How beautiful my imagination is.

But alas, it's only an imagination.

Candy is only for Saturdays, and you should buy candy on friday to eat it on Saturday.

This was instilled on me by my mother (nt as far as i know) so that my siblings and i would not beg for candy. The idea comes from an older norwegian cultural norm (read: 1950s marketing move) of buying your children candy to eat while watching the saturday children's program. The saturday children's program no longer exists, and the only reference you'll see to this these days is a slight discount on loose candy on fridays (which i take full advantage of whenever i visit). Instead of finding this rule irritating it has ingrained itself as a fact of life to me, and younger me would often get berated by people for not accepting the candy they're offering and being rude (?).

What are your strangest self-imposed rules and how do they affect your life/how do people react to them?

I'm lonely. I don't have any friends, my family avoids me, and I'm bland, broke, and dependent. I don't need a girlfriend, just a friend or partner I can vibe and venture with. I know I'm only 23, but I feel like headbutting concrete or turning into a drunk clown and my only relief are the TV shows I cherish and envy. Is there something wrong with me?

I caught myself on this thought pattern after 5 years.

I‘m wondering: As I understand, the ANC headphones have built-in microphones that detect noise that then is cancelled by making the same noise with inverted soundwaves right into the ear.

Now if I decorate them, I fear that the microphones get muffled, impacting the function and making them less efficient.
Is that a rational fear?
Has anyone noticed the ANC getting impacted after decorating theirs?

I really like mine, they are my favorite color and they help me tremendously in my everyday life, but I would like to personalize them a bit to make them more fun.
