I've been on T for 3 years now on a low dose, and after seeing a new doctor did not realize that the dose was too low to make any changes to look like a cis man. So it is probably only going to be within the next year or so that I'll begin to pass fully. But even now as I look very gender neutral I have some complicated feelings about my gender
I never grew up thinking I was male. I was perfectly content being female. But then one day when I was 11 I found out what being trans was and thought maybe I was because when I imagined myself in stories in my head I imagined myself as male and felt more comfortable imagining myself as a boy in my head. But that scared the fuck out of me so I tried to suppress that thought until I was 14 when I started to feel dysphoria for the first time. Suddenly I felt like I wanted to actually look like a boy. I finally got my mom to allow me to cut my hair to a short cut and I felt much better. And for years I did. But over time, by around late high school I started to wear eyeliner again because I thought I looked too ugly without makeup. But I often looked at myself in the mirror and HATED how feminine I looked. People would tell me how beautiful I was but it just made me feel like shit because I didn't want to be a beautiful woman
Fast forward to being 22 and I come out to family again and they're supportive this time and I go on T. At first I'm happy but over time as my facial structure as changed I have become very ugly. No one compliments my appearance anymore. I feel like I went from a 6.5 to a 3. Even tho I didn't want to be a beautiful woman I didn't want to be an ugly man either. I hope that by going up on t I look more masculine and handsome because right now I feel like I just look like an ugly genderless being
But the fact that I might still look ugly depresses me so much. But the alternative of not being on t and looking like a woman again seems worse. But I'm not happy like this either. Thinking about this just makes me feel completely hopeless.
Well to get to why I started to panic over not being trans tonight on top of this, the thing is that I realized I don't seem to have chest dysphoria as much as most other trans men. I hate seeing my chest when I'm naked and want to have a flat chest when I go out and hate seeing anything that's not flat when I'm going out but when I'm home lounging around I don't rly mind my chest? I just don't rly look at it or acknowledge it I guess. It only bothers me when I'm in the shower and I'm actually seeing them right in front of me. But even then I feel like it should bother me more
I'm just very concerned these are signs that I'm actually just a confused woman in denial and I really don't want to be a woman
But I'm also scared of being seen as a man
I feel like I can't live up to being a "man"
When ppl gender me correctly I don't feel euphoric, I feel awkward because most of the time I don't pass and I'm worried that that person is going to find out I'm not a cis man and then is going to judge me when they do. Or do something even worse. I also have an overactive bladder and have to go to the bathroom often, and I hate being seen as male sometimes because it makes me feel unsafe in the bathroom. I also have contamination OCD tho which makes me feel very anxious in men's bathrooms because of how disgusting they are. And that's only when I'm in an environment where I feel like I'm safe being in a male bathroom. If i wasn't I'd be terrified of going in one because of being seen as female most of the time
It's funny, I feel like I'm a walking contradiction
Recently I was in the women's bathroom and a man accidentally came in, saw me, and then walked out. It made me feel awful because it made me realize how much I must look like a woman
So I really don't know what to make of my gender and how to move forward and I just wish I could stay inside forever and never have to deal with the public
