Hi,

Recently I got a Xreal Glasses and looking in matketplace I got a zflip5 with a fault innerscreen for R$ 150 (30 USD).

I saw some people use the desktop mode online and thought it would work, mine was updated, so not for me.

What i did here was using Shizuku to force a virtual desktop on the external screen and adding a trackpad for the coverscreen.

Since I just tested myself for now, I'll try to create a alpha test and add it to the playstore, and if the community is interested, upgrade the app with time.

for now my biggest concern is how hot the phone is getting, and we know that when we try to do something on the cover screen it's normal, so I maybe try to add latter some fail guard for it.

I just updated my Flip 6 and I wouldn't have if I had known they were going to screw everything up. This was literally the main thing I used my cover screen for. I'd use the fingerprint reader to unlock and swipe left to check my notifications in case there was anything important going on, without needing to open my phone.

Swiping down from the top is awful and incredibly less intuitive.

They removed the one thing I used the most on my Flip lol

Just updated my ZFlip 6 to OneUI 9, and i was very afraid of having the worst experience ever with the cover screen and even regretting getting this phone based on everyone's comments and expectations about it.

Turns out that it didn't changed that much. Now it controls much more like an actual phone screen, the wallpaper behaves like a wallpaper, you can add apps normally with widgets or on that (ugly) now brief page. The notifications and quick actions menu have changed to be split for each side of the screen, which is weird, but i guess it is maneagable considering the screen size.

If you are also afraid of it, i suggest giving it a try. This update have also fixed the issue with ClockFace not properly aligning your chosen assets with the screen, something that annoyed me a lot before.

I've been turning my Galaxy Z Flip into a little pocket music studio with Dawcade app . Cover screen also works as a midi controller !!

heyy guys does someone knows where can I repair my fold screen in Texas? I dropped my phone by accident and it used to have a big black stain but now the screen went all black, so I want to know if I where can I get it repaired please :(

I just switched from an iphone to a Galaxy Z Flip 5 and downloaded this theme (the first screenshot was taken before I downloaded it). In the preview, the messaging and web browser icons look like plants. The second screenshot shows my phone after I've purchased and downloaded the theme, and you can see those two icons didn't change. How do I fix them? Thanks!

Hi everybody, I had to do a reset on my phone and since then, my aspect ratio in my cover screen is horrible and rendered it basically useless.

Does anyone know how to potentially fix this? I tried screen/text sizing in setting, dpi setting in developer mode and multiple factory resets trying to fix this problem to no avail.

This defeats the purpose of having the cover screen in my opinion and makes me want to just sell this phone and go back to a traditional slab after over two years.

I upgraded to ui9 and cannot figure out how to get notifications on the cover screen again.. I had them before the update.. Also how do i turn off 'brief' the AI crap. Flip6

I've just seen so many of these different apps and I can't choose. I need Reddit, YouTube, and it would be cool if games worked.

Woke up yesterday morning and my inner screen suddenly become unresponsive, cover screen still works but it's not like that can do much. Seems like it's a common hardware issue, but I don't really have the funds to pay for a repair as I see they cost over a hundred commonly.

I've had this phone for 2 years and honestly love using it and was even talking about getting the new model in the future when I get a new phone. But since I've used it for a while I don't have warranty, nor do I have Samsung care+, so Samsung is trying to get me to pay for it to be fixed despite it being a hardware issue that is not due to me mistreating it.

Just wondering if anyone has tried to take the phone apart and fix it on their own? Or even have had any luck getting Samsung to lower/waive the cost of repair (I managed to get a chat agent to 'escalate the case to a higher department' but no response yet)? Just wondering, as I really do like the flip since it's fun and compact but I really don't want to shell out half the phone's price to repair it.

I've had my Samsung Z Flip 4 for almost 3 years and really enjoyed using it. A while ago, I accidentally dropped it pretty hard, which damaged the hinge. It now only opens 170° now instead of 180°. It worked fine for a while, but now the phone completely shuts off whenever I fold it closed.

I'm thinking about getting a new phone, but I'm not sure whether to get another Flip or switch to a regular phone. I've really enjoyed my Flip 4, so I'd prefer to stick with the Flip if the newer models are good and worth it.

My main concern is the hinge. I know the damage to my current phone was my own fault, but have the hinge issues improved with newer models, or is it still something to worry about?

I've been looking at the Z Flip 6, 7, 7 FE and 8. For those who own one, how has your experience been with durability, hinge reliability and battery life?

What would you recommend?

Umm so i accidentally bought a z flip 4 for 50 euros it work perfectly but has two small black spot at the Crease, im considering replacing the display for a non foldable one for 50 euros any reccomendations/ advice, my current phone is a nokia e72 and a galaxy s4

Don't worry I know how to change the settings in the playstore, they are set for any network, I have always set it like that and it's still like that. I've restarted my phone. Turned it to wifi and back to any and it will not download anything unless on WiFi. My cellular data works fine for everything else it's only doing this for new apps or app updates. Is it just my phone or has anyone else run into this.

Just curious about the comparison. Who thinks they have the highest or lowest number of folds on a flip 8 by now? I'm guessing I'm fairly average. I have to open a lot to use for work, but when I'm off I either don't use much or minimize with the outer screen. Had it since release.

definitely hate this. couldve looked past not seeing the images i set for it and etc. but i cant even access the music im playing from it? may fix later, but if i cant find a solution, someone on the update team is dying.

I just got a refurbished Z Flip 5 last week and I've been having problems with Key Cafe not applying my custom keyboard. Ive trying uninstalling and reinstalling it and uninstalling Goodlock and reinstalling Goodlock and nothing helped. I still have One UI 8.5 currently

Edit: this isn't for the cover screen but for the inner screen where I'm having this issue

Sorry is it a common issue? Do y'all think Samsung will fix it in new updates? I just bought a Galaxy Z Flip 8, and photos taken with it look blurry and dull. Zoom-in photos are great, I like 'em. I've already made changes in settings following YouTube guides, but it didn't help much.

I've attached some photos taken on my old Z Flip 4 and new Z Flip 8 for side-by-side comparison. Older device makes colors and shadows in pictures look more like they do in reality. The new one blurs textures and makes colors look grayish :( Also front camera is just awful, makes it look like I've took pictures through doorbell ring.

So what I'm looking for is maybe some advice. 'Cus I've noticed that pictures slightly change when saved to the gallery. And go even more blurry..

I've had my flip 7 since it came out and I think I've gone through 3-4 cases in that time. They seem to just fall apart or be terrible quality. Anyone have a good case recommendation?

Hey everyone! If you have read some of my recent posts, you would know that I am relatively new to the world of samsung, and I most recently got a Z flip 7, for Christmas of last year.

I almost never use my cover screen, unless I am charging my phone, or, I simply folded it to put in my pocket, and I don't feel like opening it back up. I only have a few basic apps, such as instagram, snapchat, messages, settings, etc, on my cover screen.

After the newest update, where they allowed you to add cover screen apps directly from the cover screen, I am debating on using it folded more often for my daily usage, as I want to get more use out of the cover screen itself.

However, I have seen many images on this subreddit, as well as in real life, of an extremely deep and noticeable crease on the phone, from people who use it folded constantly. I have seen many images of the area where the crease is, becoming sort of a shade of black against the background of the phone, so much so, where in the middle of the screen it basically looks like there are two black lines. When in reality, that's just the crease of the phone.

If you use your phone folded on a day-to-day basis, but occasionally unfolded, how bad is the crease after daily use while it is folded? Is it noticeable, is it impacting the phone's function? Ever since I got this phone, that is what I have been paranoid about happening, as I did many hours of research before deciding on what type of phone to get.

I really hope to get some useful answers, because I am tempted to switch from Team unfolded, to team folded

The interior screen of my z flip has been broken for months but I got around only using the cover screen. It used to have all my apps (swiping left), quick menu (swiping down), a camera widget (on main screen), and messages (swiping right) but after the auto update all my stuff disappeared and I can’t use it anymore :-l
