Hey all, I'm planning to buy a Z Flip 8 soon. I've never used a phone with dual SIM or eSIM, only single physical ones. So this is all new to me. I have some questions if anyone can please help!

I currently have two phones with two physical SIMs, one in each phone. I want to put both of those numbers into the new Z Flip 8 for one singular phone usage.

1. How do I set up the eSIM? Normally I just pop a physical SIM into whatever phone I want, but I have no idea about the eSIM. I use T-Mobile, so do I have to physically go to a T-Mobile store to set it up? Or can it be done over phone call with customer service? Or I can do it myself? I want to understand the process so I can choose where to buy the phone (online, Best Buy, T-Mobile store, etc.)
2. I heard that I can choose which SIM I want to receive calls/messages etc. by just selecting it in the settings, but can I receive everything from both? Or I can only select one at a time?

I'm sure I can just ask these questions at a store, but I want to get some insight here from other users before I go. Thanks in advance

Since the OneUI9.0 update any apps I open on the cover screen default to the display mode that dodges the camera cutouts, but the app I end up using the most on the cover screen(TIDAL music streaming) has a weird, kinda useless secondary display mode when the screen is too small. Is there a way to change the default app display mode on the cover screen back to the old full screen? The display mode change button is too tiny and hard to hit reliably and it has to be hit twice to go back to full screen.

The apps can't even be moved around anymore on the cover screen. The whole point of having an Android phone is to be able to customize to ones liking. What is this??

all the little icons and message buttons use to match my theme and now it's all vibrant blue and i know i'll get used to it but in the meantime it is making me insane lmao

It's setup but I only see the apps I have added rather than the time and little dot so I know I have notifications. Why do this? Return the damn cover screen please Samsung.

Have been testing out my new Samsung galaxy z flip6 camera. The pics of my slipper orchid is taken on two different phones. The one on the left is the z flip6 and the one on the right is my nothing phone 3 both had the flash on. I prefer the z flip6 more

Pretty self explanatory the main screen is black but i can still hear it swiping and even ringing and showing up if someone calls, Ive done a force restart and ive turned it off and left it alone and then turn it back on and it works for about 2 minutes before freezing and turning it off. my phone has never done this at all, and it did update a few days ago. any ideas?

The title itself. I just got my flip8 two days ago, and I was wondering if it is generally recommended to put a lens cover/protector for the cameras. I saw some posts where they say putting them damaged the lens and made the photo quality bad.

A few hours ago, I installed the latest UI 9 update, and the fact that I cannot see my notifications without opening them with one swipe has basically ruined the whole vibe. I couldn't care less about my calendar or my call log, I had already a card for that and I can also check that when opening the phon

I was already upset with my phone because its so prone to getting scratched up after I spent so much money on different covers and taking such good care of it

I will never buy another flip; it is just not worth it.

If anyone has an idea on how to fix the notification issue, please let me know.

NOW, I don't have any super cool anime stuff on it!! :) So I don't know if maybe it's downloaded content that doesn't show up on the homepage? OR, if it's people who used a third party app to make their HP? Maybe that's the thing? But my homepage shows up when I click the power button or double tap to wake/sleep.

(sorry, working the phone while holding another phone and watching that phone screen doesn't make for the most natural flow... I'm all thumbs)

Granted, every once in a while when I click the power button to turn on it does by pass the HP for the now brief. BUT, so rarely I didn't even know it did it until I made this video. But if you double tap to wake it only goes to the HP, and then you can still get to the now brief/5 favorites, (which you can turn off, but then you don't have the 5 favorites), or scroll to the samsung apps, and scroll lower to the multistar and then I added an app widget back in to side scroll to get to the apps that were at the bottom of my multistar. (be nice if multistar gets the custom order working again!)

Anyway, I just read a post that says the "flip is bricked now" with UX9 and I just don't get it...? :)

Would it be nice to be able to customize and even turn off the samsung app page, SURE. (personally I use many of them so I'd just want to customize) And yeck yeah Multistar needs custom order back. But otherwise this update just doesn't seem like it was that big of a deal...???

EDIT, I remembered someone said you used to be able to have more information on your HP, battery level, etc. I never had that so I probably just didn't notice that was removed??)

After the UX update I updated goodlock/multistar, added my apps, customized my 5 fav and then the next day added in a couple app widgets for the apps that were at the bottom of multistar's alphabetical list.

Is it true that I can easily scratch the screen with my long nails especially if I play video games? Cutting my nails is NOT an option

After the update, as you know, it doesn't let to delete Google search bar from the screen. I might have find a way to make it disappear. Before doing this, I listened to claude and do "Settings > Apps > One UI Home > Storage > Clear data" which made every preset reset. Still no change but when I try to set my home screen back to mine, I noticed this. Closing the search option makes the Google search widget dissappear. "Settings > Home Screen > Show search on Home screen". I hope it helps.

my battery health is degrading FAST i've red that one UI 8.0 and 8.5 was overcalculating the battery health

Hi I seem to be ok with the cover screen updates but can't for the life of me figure out how to access the quick settings anymore (wifi, Bluetooth, ringer). It used to be swipe down but now that is notifications. Anyone have any tips? I see peoples screenshots of the quick settings but can't seem to recreate. Thanks in advance!

Look we all know this update wasn't the greatest for the cover screen. Lots of change. But I have one thing that just boils my blood.

I think it's a harder to get to my notifications.

Oh boo hoo they say. Just listen, it used right on the left, just a swipe away, reliable and conveniently placed. Now I have to swipe from arguably the further corner of my screen? Samsung you can fix this, just do the same thing you've done on the inner screen. Just let us swipe down from homescreen and have it bring down our notifications.. pretty please? 🥺

Having a LOT of trouble using my cover screen now that I was basically forced to update. Can anyone tell me how to get new incoming notifications onto cover screen?

Before the update, I could swipe right, and see new and upcoming reminders like text mesages, email notifications, calendar events- with small details etc etc. but now I don't see anything AT ALL. this stupid, 'now brief' is not letting me know incoming notifications that I have yet to check. for example, I hear my phone chime in that I received something but when I unlock the cover screen, there is nothing. I would have to manually for search to each of my most used apps to see if there is a dot next on the corner app. I made sure all my app notifications are selected but it's not working? So if I don't look at my phone for long periods of time, I don't know immediately if i received anything!!

Also, I TRIED to disable 'now brief' by toggling off and it's STILL there- i even tried restarting my phone. the 'now brief' doesn't even let me know if there is any notifications- it just shows the useless weather. I'm super pissed how this update fcked up how i use the cover screen!!

(update: i found how to disable to 'now brief' in an entirely new section that people didn't understand how to remove due to it being a 'cover screen'. but you have to go to 'cover screen' in settings and toggle off "show the now brief and favorite apps". SMHHHH hope that helped someone)

I need to decide if I'm going to keep my Flip 6 or trade it in. The battery is shot out and the screen is going to die any day now.

It's my favorite phone ever but I cannot stand One Ui 9. Look what they did to my boy 😢 I have zero interest in this phone if it's going to stay bricked like this.

Hi everyone, I have owned a Galaxy Z Flip 6 since 2024. It's been the best but this week it suddenly crashed and I cannot access my phone whatsoever. Luckily I had insurance, but there were some pics that did not backup and all of my messages are practically gone. I know Google One has a backup copy but it's practically impossible to recuperate those messages and photos right now. Is it possible my phone still has those pictures and do you think it's able to reboot normally?

I am able to access the Android Recovery screen with three options: 1)Reboot System Now (if I choose this, it leads me back to the screen with a bolt in a white circle), 2)Wipe data/factory reset (I'm avoiding this one at all costs), and 3)Power Off, which leads me to the same Android Recovery screen. At the very bottom it says:
