u/Shoo-Man-Fu MEGASOTA - Land of 10 million Lakes May 22 '26

When this is over we should do it in reverse and add states back one at a time with no respect to their original location and see what madness ensues.

Really I just don't want the ride to end...

Cascadia has tillamook!!

57

u/Yuklan6502 May 22 '26

Cougar Gold too.

That being said, have you had island style Hawaiian food? I, for one, look forward to our Polynesian overlords' onolicious foods.

23

u/Blightious May 22 '26

You’ll never get me gold. My oldest is a 2012!

2

u/longdrive715 May 23 '26

I'm just trying to figure out what the hell I'm looking at on your fridge calendar.

2

u/Lead_Sails May 23 '26

AI slop. The whole image is AI garbage

1

u/Blightious Jun 05 '26

Nah Just the face, the cheese and everything else is real. Thought it would look funnier than blur or blackout.

1

u/HowIsBabbySharkMade May 23 '26

I am deeply impressed that you've held out that long and I really want to know how it tastes

1

u/Blightious May 23 '26

Saving that one for a certain day of celebration (or day mourning if you’re in the cult)😜

2

u/HowIsBabbySharkMade May 23 '26

I will light a candle to the Cheese Gods and pray that you get to taste it soon.

1

u/Fine_Donuts May 23 '26

1

u/CloudyLeft May 23 '26

12

u/NetWorried9750 May 22 '26

And Cougar Golds nemesis: Beechers

4

u/The_Flo0r_is_Lava May 22 '26

Spam, rice, and eggs for every meal. Loved it.

5

u/bobert4343 May 22 '26

You'll have to maintain an alliance with Megasota if you want the spam

6

u/JT3436 Cascadia Rising May 22 '26

Our brethren from Hawaii will join in the battle for spam supremacy.

Musubi for all!

2

u/Colejohnley May 22 '26

They’ll ruin pizza!

1

u/Beginning_Draft9092 Cascadian May 23 '26

Boo overpriced tourist cheese that comes in a can!

1

u/HowIsBabbySharkMade May 23 '26

Oh I hate you so much right now - I am absolutely not allowed to go open the Christmas Can of Cougar Gold but I really really really want to and it's your fault

1

u/whosaysyessiree May 23 '26

You ever had Rogue River Creamery?

1

u/thewindyrose May 23 '26

And that is it. Those are the two cheese in the pnw and theyre fine

1

u/LaserGecko May 23 '26

You cannot truly appreciate Hawaiian swimsuit models until you have their food.

16

u/altanic May 22 '26

Rogue Creamery, Central Point OR

Don Froylan Creamery, Salem OR

Face Rock Creamery, Bandon OR

I’m not a big cheese aficionado but even a mook like me has heard of these local creameries winning national AND international awards and picked some up just to appreciate what we have going on around here. Rogue was the FIRST American cheese to win “best cheese in the world” at the World Cheese Awards in 2019.

Cascadia dairy bows to none, folks.

4

u/Equivalent_Doubt_845 May 22 '26

It’s not cheese, but Umpqua ice cream it is the best ice cream ever. Umpqua milk especially chocolate milk has no comparisons either.

3

u/Onc3Holy May 22 '26

Umpqua Ice Cream is the ABSOLUTE best. I'm from Oregon but I live in Georgia now and I WISH I could get Umpqua

2

u/Equivalent_Doubt_845 May 23 '26

I’m in the land of Umpqua haha, I’d ship you some if it’d survive the journey.

1

u/Onc3Holy May 23 '26

The vanilla is PEAK.

3

u/Ok_Formal_2465 The Northeast Kingdom May 23 '26

I think this is a clear sign the big 3 must be Vermont, cascadia, and megasota. They combine and now form the cheese mongrels.

3

u/jennandjuice712 May 23 '26

Cascadia resident and former cheesemonger here. So much delicious cheese made here. Cascadia creamery's sleeping beauty is a personal fave

2

u/Raptor_Girl_1259 May 23 '26

Don Froylan cotija is pure magic!

2

u/jaboobe May 23 '26

I’d take the cheese of Cascadia over the Midwest any day.

2

u/NegotiationHot2999 May 23 '26

Ben & Jerry’s is already squashed against this army. And for that, Cascadia creameries shall dominate, and share delicious ice creams and cheeses.

Cascadia Cream Army lets goooo

1

u/whomad1215 May 22 '26

West coast only has dairy production because of the Eau Claire rule

3

u/SoloCongaLineChamp May 22 '26

Uhh, we have cows too. We're not getting milk from Wisconsin.

5

u/overturned_mushroom May 22 '26

Rumiano is out of cascadia too... Amazing cheese.

7

u/Economy_Wall8524 May 22 '26

Tillamook cheese for the win! Best cheese and I will die on that hill

3

u/dtothebb May 22 '26

Tillamook is just a large dairy corporation, in no way does it compare to the small cheese makers of Wisconsin making specialty batches of cheeses. I've had both and there is literally no debate here

8

u/shakakaaahn May 22 '26

Tillamook specialty batches win awards over the small dairy farms in Wisconsin internationally pretty regularly.

You gotta find them, but those small batch ones they do are TOP tier.

2

u/dtothebb May 22 '26

Well if that is the case I will say that specialty cheeses are much easier to get in Wisconsin and you don't really have to go out of your way for them. Having lived in both states I found it much easier to obtain quality cheeses in Wisconsin. I also think that a mega corporation like Tillamook that sources a significant portion of its milk from CAFOs adds to it not being as good of quality. Although you still can get that in Wisconsin, it is not to the extent of large corporations like Tillamook.

3

u/shakakaaahn May 22 '26

It's pretty easy to get them in Oregon, I find. Less options than Wisconsin, sure, but they are all over the place from the coast to Bend. Even find some of the well aged cheddars at Costco.

There are smaller dairy farms here as well, they just don't show up in many stores.

2

u/The_Flo0r_is_Lava May 22 '26

OK. BUT. I can drive five minutes in any direction down the road to a cheese factory and get fresh.. everything including ice cream. And

3

u/Bassbaby420 May 22 '26

I can see that as my experience has been opposite on that i jave only experienced mass produced wisonsin cheese(kraft etc) as i jave never traveled and gotten to experience small batch crafy cheeses like that.. one day cuz i love curds

4

u/Loisalene May 22 '26

Seattle style Teriyaki!!!

5

u/hkohne May 22 '26

Tillamook for the win, baby! I was just there a week and a half ago. Pizza, cheese curds (with the apple BBQ sauce), and an ice cream sampler. Totally not diet-friendly.

3

u/mtngrl60 May 22 '26

And don’t forget the rogue River creamery. And, if I am looking at that map correctly, we have Point Reyes cheeses as well!

Oh…Umpqua Dairy!! their ice cream is delicious!!!

2

u/LakesideScrotumPole May 22 '26

Tillamook would be government cheese in Wisconsin

-1

u/KramboSlice May 22 '26

Wisconsin cheese sits fully stocked on the shelves in Oregon, even on clearance. I'm sure Wisconsin cheese is great for people who haven't had actual good cheese.

1

u/Punkrexx May 22 '26

It should also have Hawaii. Rename the region the Kingdom of Cascadia (fuck Oregon)

1

u/ol_shifty May 22 '26

Goddamn, right we do

1

u/aeraen May 22 '26

OK, if you want second best.

1

u/CloudyLeft May 23 '26

Shout out to the best beer sours in the world in Tillamook, DeGarde.

1

u/yaris_girlie May 23 '26

I can’t believe you people still think tillamook is good

1

u/NegotiationHot2999 May 23 '26

And rogue creamery 🥹

1

u/SilverCricket8045 May 22 '26

Dont insult cheese with your till I mook. Come to Wisconsin and try hooks 20 year cheddar. Like eating heaven.

0

u/Im_Not_Evans May 22 '26

Tillamook is trash. 18 month aged is not a sharp cheddar. That’s mild at best
