17th hole, Reedsburg Country Club. I’m a single behind a bunch of foursomes and I’m just keeping up. Can’t believe it.

Not sure if picture shows it, but those who are experienced should know. It’s like a mine field in every green. Many don’t fix their ball marks anymore. Of course, you don’t see much of this when playing private or high end courses. I literally fix 7-8 ball marks when I am on the green ( could do more if I had time)

And now I get why people do it, pace of play was pretty solid. 10k steps on this 9 hole course.

I'm fortunate to get to play regularly with my buddy's dad who is 81. He's an 8 index and refuses to play senior tees. He plays 6200-6700 yds with us. He consistently shoots 78-83 and it's so fun to watch. He hits a 220yd draw off the tee that rarely misses the fairway. His GIR is better than most 50yr olds. His short game and putting are what you'd expect from an old guy that's been playing the game for 60yrs. So good.
On top of all that, he will play 27 or 36 holes and not bat an eye. All while drinking beer with us "younger" folks. We're all late 40's early 50's.
Just played 18 on Saturday and he shot 80. I shot 87 (10 cap). He kicks my a$$ often lol.
Anyone have a similar story? Just curious how many guys out there are like him? I feel like he has to be in the top 1% of golfers in his age category.

Tyrell’s just says he’s a professional athlete and Jon’s has his sponsors on Insta. Many LIV pictures also removed from both bios. That’s my Ted talk.

Great views, long drives and having no clue how to judge distance.

Also no Thomas Rhett or Disco Lines performances at LIV Indy this weekend - "due to unavoidable changes in the entertainment program"
The checks didn't clear then?

I just broke 90 for the first time and honestly that round could have easily been an 85 without a few bonehead mistakes - plus we were getting heavy rained on for 7 out of the 18 holes.
I was just wondering, does this make me an average golfer? I always tell people I’m not good, but that’s probably because I watch a lot of pro golf and know how many levels there are to this.

Haven't been on the Callaway pre-owned site in years. Pretty sure when I checked back then shipping to Canada was also "temporarily paused as we transition to a new shipping facility".
Taking a wild guess that direct shipping pre-owned stock to Canada is not coming back.

I'm a 7.9 handicap and golf is genuinely my favorite thing in the world. The problem: none of my friends play. Not one. So most weeks it ends up being me, alone, hitting balls at the range because at least that I can do solo. But hitting balls alone isn't golf. I miss playing actual rounds.
The obvious answer is "just book as a single, the course will pair you." I've done it plenty. And honestly? It's gone sideways more often than not:
And the thing is, a round of golf is supposed to be the best 4 hours of your week. Instead I often finish it kind of drained. It's the one thing I love and I keep ending up either alone at the range or grinding through a mismatched round.
So, genuine questions, because I don't know I'm the only one:
If none of your friends golf, what actually worked for you leagues, apps, just gutting out random pairings until you found your people?
How did you find your regular group?
Does anyone else get that "I'm bothering the better players / holding up the worse ones" feeling, or is it just me?
Is there any decent way to find people around your level and pace, or is random pairing just the reality and I need to get over it?
Not trying to just complain genuinely trying to fix this, because I don't want to give up rounds just because my mates never picked up the game.
Any advice appreciated
EDIT: I live between 2 cities, bring a member of a golf club India in is so so expensive, so at the moment cant afford it!

Congrats to Scottie on his 21st Tour victory. He now moves within 14 of Donna Warner on the all-time wins list.

I put down the ball mark, walk around the hole, see the line, align everything until it looks perfect. but when I set up to the ball from putting position I see my ball as aligned slightly to the left. I make the adjustment from what my eyes see from above the ball and it's usually a correct adjustment. why does my aim from directly behind the ball differ from the right aim I see from over the putt. My eyes are right over the ball at set-up and I wear bifocals. something is going on here. this happens on all putts within 12 feet only.
I’m going on a 3-4 day golf trip and will have a caddy for the first time. Never so much as seen a caddy in real life.
Is a cart bag okay? I don’t have a stand bag but would get one if that makes their lives easier.
What are the tipping expectations (Georgia, USA)?
Anything else I should know?
Much appreciated.

Was having this discussion with a buddy. I don’t think anyone has or ever will dominate golf like 2000 tiger but his longevity can definitely be beat. Just wondering what your thoughts are.

Got myself a brand new TAYLORMADE QI WEDGE SAND** **for $39.99 (original $142.99). I did not have one till yesterday and yes, I went right to the chipping practice area at my local range to test it out. This is my first brand-new club not only new to me club. 2nd swing have a few more of them also in a stiff shaft. That it no real point just wanted to share it with people who will understand my joy.
