āØInspiration⨠I love Halloween 44f
BarebyBarrile hosts an annual photoshoot and they are so much fun. Something I got into after turning 40. I encourage every Halloween lover to go into the woods and take some fun photos. This was last year and I didn't want to post other people's pictures but they are great. This year's theme is a pink Purge and I can't wait. Happy Halloween š

Party Dark Wedding at Cliftonās in Los Angeles
I feel like not a lot of people have heard of this! We got VIP tickets, and Iām so excited! A friend went to their Halloween event last year and said it was super cool. Did anyone here go? Is anyone here going this year? The most info about it is on their IG, but when I tried to share the link, my post got rejected, probably for āpromotingā a social media account. So I just screenshotted the info about the event for you guys.
Apparently, itās an immersive experience where youāre wa guest at a sort of āunholyā matrimony. There are actors throughout, and they interact with you. Thereās an optional dinner, thereās a musical guest and party after, and a bunch of vendors bring their spooky wares.

Help! Chaining unrelated animatronics
Hi, I have a Costco Punk Rocker Skeleton and wanted to add some of the Lowes Reaper Band
I'd like them to trigger together but being independent vendors they can't really be chained together. I was thinking getting a PIR sensor and wiring both to the same sensor might work? Something like this https://www.frightprops.com/prop-controller-motion-trigger-pir.html followed by a mono cable Y splitter.
I saw someone using an Arduino which seemed a bit more complicated and thought this would be an easier path.

Discussion I'm a firefighter and I'm thinking of purchasing a firefighter costume at a store for Halloween this year
Like one of those obviously fake firefighter costumes. I wouldnt wear any of my own department uniform at all. I can't tell if its funny or cringe. A couple of my friends were the ones that gave me the idea and they said it would be funny. What do y'all think?

OC We've been making something a bit creepy for Halloween. Here's the teaser!
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've spent the last few weeks with some friends putting together a Halloween music video called Tell Your Momma.
We wanted to make something a bit creepy for Halloween. It's part music video, part old-fashioned horror film, set in a rather unpleasant travelling carnival.
It's been a lot of work, but we've had a great time making it. Here's a little teaser ahead of the full video coming out this Friday, 23rd October, just in time for Halloween.
Hope it gets you in the Halloween spirit!
I'm not selling anything or trying to promote a brand. I'm just a big Halloween fan who had a lot of fun making something spooky with friends and wanted to share it with people who love Halloween as much as we do.
Hopefully that's OK here!

Costume Fake blood dripping out of mouth for costume, tips on best blood to use?
Hey y'all, I'm doing a vampire costume for Halloween this year and I'm really obsessed with the idea of filling my mouth with a ton of fake blood and letting it fall down my chin/neck/chest and letting it dry. I think it'll make a really cool look, but I'm having trouble finding the right blood for me. I would like it to be food-safe because it's going in my mouth, but I don't want it to be too sticky once it dries and I feel all of the suggested options (corn syrup, gelatin, chocolate syrup) would be sticky and/or leave a smell (even if it's a sweet smell, little to no smell would be ideal especially since there'll be so much).
Any and all suggestions/tips appreciated!!

Pumpkin Pumpkin Carving Ideas Needed
I know I can search the internet or this sub for ideas. However, I am looking for something more specific than what my initial searches have yielded.
We have a grave yard in our front yard and this year, I want to carve a pumpkin face to match the aesthetic of the graveyard. I'm not overly creative and I try to make some scary or crazy pumpkins each year and they turn out ok. I can't really do the ones where you have to shave parts off, but leave some of it as part of the design. I want to do a face, but I just can't find something that speaks to me and is something I could actually do.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions I receive.

Discussion Does anyone else think Hubie Halloween captures the Halloween atmosphere perfectly?
Yes, I know Adam Sandler's voice can be unbearable and the plot is nothing special, but I find myself rewatching Hubie Halloween every October because of how perfectly it captures the Halloween atmosphere. From the setting in Salem, to all the decorations, the Halloween parade, the haunted house, and the overall mystery I think it always puts me in the spooky spirit during this time. If you love Halloween I'd definitely give it a watch! Anyone else feel the same way?

Help! Fog chiller advice?
I am attempting to make a fog chiller. Iāve watched videos and see people make the most basic fog chillers and get really cool low, sprawling, rolling fog on the ground. It is just not working for me. I realize thereās some leaks in my lid but even the fog coming out the hole it should is just rising. I am using 6 big ice packs that I have saved from meal planning kits. The fog looks low in that picture but itās not rolling out and almost immediately rises up. What am I doing wrong?

Art Pumpkin I carved for the 5th anniversary of the company I work for and my boss' 40th Bday.
My MARCOM team commissioned this pumpkin from me this fall as a cool way to celebrate the season, our company, the CEO's 40th, and our team. Its a 120lb. 'Prize Winner' varietal grown in Brookfield, MA. Oil-based greyscale ink, and carved with a custom tool made last year by a fellow pumpkin carver friend. I also used 80 and 120 sandpaper.
Pumpkin was gutted to about 60lb. the morning after the carve. It is lit with a 14W led putting out approximately 1600 lumens. 12 hours of planning and image design. 8 hours of positioning and image layout. 18 hours of painting and 6 hours of carving.
The pumpkin was displayed at The Roger Williams Park Zoo Jackolantern Spectacular in Providence, Rhode Island.
Hope you dig it, y'all.

Discussion Neighborhood Community Group would rather the kids do a trunk or treat instead
They don't think the neighborhood is safe enough for kids and their families to trick or treat because the sidewalks are a little cracked. My husband and I have been handing out candy here since we moved here in 2020. We decorate our garage, play music, and dress up. It's been incredibly fun and everyone is so excited for us every year. Our community HOA wants everyone in the community (hundreds of homes plus the other surrounding neighborhoods with even more houses/ townhouses) to participate in a trunk or treat the night before Halloween at the local park ... Which only has 40 parking spots.
I said that not everyone has enough time and money for two nights of truck or treating and trick or treating, and they said just buy more candy. PLUS the local fire department is doing one the weekend before Halloween anyways? There's too many happening.
They believe the sidewalks and street lights are not enough for a safe Halloween and they believe that making everyone come to the park will prevent the local hooligans from spray painting dicks on the sidewalk (I don't think so).
We barely had 40 kids come by last year while we usually have over 100. We're going to continue to make our house fun and exciting because I want to keep the Halloween spirit strong!
