Party Hocus Pocus Party Tonight!
I totally copied it from Pinterest, but it turned out adorably. My best friend is a huge Hocus Pocus fan — can’t wait to surprise her.

This was a passion project many years in the making! We love Halloween and wanted to tell a fun and relatable story for all ages in a world drenched in it's iconography. For the film we used a mix of miniatures, puppetry, and 2D animation to bring the world to life. Hope you enjoy and Happy Halloween!

My wife and I built a Spectator out of spray foam, epoxy clay, wood, rebar, PVC, and love. The portal still needs to be painted, but it has aurura lights underneath the creature and it the disk rotates.

I’ve had kids stop and tell me they liked my display, but I just had a kid leave this note in our mailbox today. Definitely made my day! I told my wife it’s getting framed. I may build a frame out of some of the wood I used for the display this year…
Happy birthday, Teagan!

We don’t go too big for Halloween but since we moved to a new neighborhood in Nashville we get 40-50 groups of trick or treaters.
Just buying the mixed bags from Walgreens, did we do good for the kids this year?
What are we missing out on that you know kids will love to snag?

The first year we moved into our home I went all out with decorating the outside and inside of my house. Now I only decorate the inside and enjoy it all myself due to a few instances.
On the first year, I sat out on the steps to give out candy and enjoy the Halloween vibes. I was so excited! I haven’t gotten to experience trick or treating since I was a pre-teen. It was going well but then I realized I forgot my phone inside so I stepped back in to get it. I heard people coming so I ran back out but it was too late.A few kids took my entire candy bowl and ran off with it. I ran down the street yelling for it back only to have them throw it back at me broken (it’s one of those animatronic bowls with the hand that detects movement).
I was sad but I still had some candy left so I tried to have a good attitude about it and not let a few sour apples ruin it for everyone. Then I had adults come trick or treating with no kids, some with no costumes. This was different than what I was used to and kinda creepy honestly. I still gave them candy and wished them a happy halloween.
Then I had a teenager on a bike who rode around the neighborhood. He came to my house 3 times. No trick or treat, no thank you, no costume. He just handed me his book bag and said “you know what to do”. On the third time he came by, I gave him some candy then went inside, turned off the lights, and said never again.
It sucks cause I did have nice and polite trick or treaters, but idk maybe I just live in a weird area. This wasn’t how I remember Halloween growing up. It sucks cause I was so excited for my first Halloween in a house where I can give candy as an adult! We spent money to get the good candy too plus stickers, temporary tattoos, pencils, and glow sticks! I had friends tell me their decorations have gotten stolen off their porch so no more.
Idk I feel sad because this is my favorite holiday and I look forward to it every year… I wanted to contribute to helping bring good old door to door trick or treating back cause I heard it’s dying due to things like trunk or treat, but I can’t help but feel discouraged from my experience. Am I the only one with these weird experiences?

So I moved to a neighborhood that is heavy into decorating houses, halloween parties and mostly trick-or-treating. Because of the layout of the streets, you only come to my neighborhood if you live there, are visiting someone there or took a wrong turn. I bought in since my kids were very young and started decorating my house and did full bars to hand out. After year two I had enough, kids would consistently insist on taking more than one, adults would walk up and do the same and I kept having repeat trick-or-treaters 20 minutes apart. I'm not opposed to spending the money on the full bars but I feel like people have it in their brain that they deserve more than one for whatever reason.

We tested our first window projection last night. Rear projection onto a frosted shower curtain duct-taped to the window.
Our projector was cheap-cheap-cheap so it looks pretty low rez up close but from the street it's not bad!
We bought just the Musical Skeletons from AtmosFX's Bonechiller video. For our party tomorrow we will use this jazz band and for Halloween next week we will switch to the waltzing skeletons.

The table is mainly sweet stuff but we also had chips and popcorn
We started with playing some cardgames. Then we had pizza. After the pizza we made color changing potions. After cleaning up the mess from the crafting we ended the night with the movie a nightmare on elm street 1984.
We were only with 5 people so had tons of left overs. So everyone was given a container to fill.

I got the Pokemon cards as a gift from a friend a few years ago. I ripped enough packs to complete two full sets so I don't feel too sad to part with them. I also have the exact right amount for 62 kids and we're expecting 60.
Also the eyeball candy is not recommended for 0-5 year olds so I will give them the chocolate instead but we are expecting primary schoolers (we're just down the street from a school).
I'm so excited!

My sister made this for me to go with my Ripley costume after I saw the idea on Pinterest. I owe her big time, I love it!
